What's great about it: Hardly no bloatware, good price
Great desktop for its price. Hardly no bloatware, good processor and video card for its price. Bought solely as a gaming PC and will upgrade RAM eventually as well as power supply. Connected to my flat screen via HDMI and has good resolution and runs optimally.
Ran Guild Wars 2 beta at optimal settings and was receiving a good amount of lag; more than likely due to crowded servers though and game not fully optimized yet. Otherwise running and looks great!

It has 10 USB ports, front face lights up when working, has a space on top for an external drive has USB ports on top, in front and on the back

What's great about it: USB's, built in wireless networking
What's not so great: button to open dvd drive is difficult to use
Bought this as an upgrade of the I3 Gateway that I had. Like the placement of the usb's on the front and top, making it easy to plug devices in without having to go searching in the back. Built in wireless works great. I've only had this one for a few months, so we'll reserve judgement on reliability until I've had it longer

What's great about it: came with plenty of memory
Using the computer for testing related to my work. I'm a computer consultant and this machine is being used as my virtual machine host. Works like a charm and offers the performance I need for testing new software etc.

What's great about it: Lots of bells and whistles for the price
What's not so great: if only all the bells, whistles and basics worked
I bought this in January with a ton of gift cards picked up from Christmas gifts. Bought waranty and geek squad protection to upgrade powe supply and graphics card. When it works it flys! Sadly I had a blue screen of death and the back up discs which I did take the time to create did not work. BB geek squad fixed it in 2 days or less time. Just this past week I noticed the case felt warm even hot. Oddly the case is hot near the front not where the board or graphics card are. Took side cover off and the hard drive is burning hot. Time to brng this computer back in again. Worst part is I have all ready reloaded my virus protection, itunes, photos and favorite programs twice on this PC. This will be the third time. In the end if you don't mind your comp being at the repair shop twice now in 6 months and reloading all your stuff then it is a good computer!

I am very pleased with my new Gateway. Had one before for eleven years. Got very slow but still for it's age it was an excellant computer. I checked out other companies but always came back to the Gateway.

What's not so great: No internal speakers and no ability to put them in.
This computer looks nice, was easy to set up and works just fine. This was my fault for not noticing on the specs, but internal speakers do not come with this computer, one has to install external speakers to be able to hear anything. Quite a bummer.

What's great about it: Easy to set-up, Fast!, good price
What's not so great: cheap sound card and power supply
Overall, this is a great PC at a great price - 1 TB HD, 2nd gen i5 quad-core processor and 8G of RAM are exceptional features. I couldn't have built this PC for a better price - though, I would have included a 7.1 channel sound card and a higher wattage power supply. I've had the computer for a month now with zero issues out of the box. ***As previous reviewers have mentioned, make sure to double check the product you're given at Best Buy before walking out the door - I, too, was given a lesser Gateway PC (w/the i3 processor & 6G of RAM) as their inventory #'s are near identical and easy for their staff to overlook.***

What's great about it: Looks good on paper
What's not so great: Can't deliver basic functionality of internet connectivity
Price was a $100 difference from the Dell, and Oh what a difference it was... Wireless disconnection issues right out of the box. poor tech support, useless website, Do I really need to say more? Do yourself a favor, and don't buy the computer, now matter how appealing the price is, you'll be supporting mediocrity at its worst. If a company can't build a product that works as designed with compatible hardware out of the box, they shouldn't be building computers. Had I wanted this hassle, I'd have built a computer myself for my friend instead of telling her to buy this piece.
This product is... poorly designed, not properly tested before release.

What's not so great: USB ports intermittent. Poor Geek Squad guidance.
This was a bad experience. First the USB problem. Sales person sold modem with installation disk that wouldn't load in Windows 7. Geek Squad sold contract for technical support that couldn't be used since it required Internet access that wasn't possible without modem. Then Geek Squad tried to sell another contract for home support. I said NO - enough !!!

What's not so great: Bright blinkenlight in the front that can be turned off once you find the switch.
My old desktop gave up 5 days before Tax Day! This system set up easily and quickly in one evening and I was back doing my taxes in no time. There was very little Bloatware! All key software, Office, Adobe, Norton, Turbotax, installed in very short order. Worked seamlessley with old wireless keyboard and mouse and wireless USB earphones (all Logitec).

The product is worth the money.
The Waco store is not worth going to. Poor service if you are researching and asking questions. They want to make a sale right that second.
Better service online and then only had to pick it up at the store.

What's great about it: Worked okay for about two weeks
What's not so great: One problem after another
My DX4860 died after about two weeks. I had to send it back to have the motherboard replaced. That sucked but the process was fairly quick and easy. Three days ago the two USB 3.0 ports stopped working. Gateway's answer to that problem is to re-install Windows, which of course would wipe everything off the hard drive and force me to re-install all the other programs I have on the computer. I installed two different brands of 16GB (4x4GB as instructed) memory but the computer failed to boot both times. The specs say this computer can use up to 16GB. I'll be returning mine, it's been a real pain.

My daughter got a Gateway several years ago with 6GB ram and a big hard drive. When we have visited her I've used hers many times. I loved it and she said it has been very reliable. It was time to replace my old 2004 Dell so I started looking closely at my Dell emails and website. I also went to Best Buy to window shop and compare. They had a Gateway with a core i3, 8GB ram, but I wanted a core i5. They were very helpful, and referred me to their website to look for this model Gateway with a core i5. I found the one I eventually bought with a core i5, 8GB ram, and a 1TB drive. The price was only 550$! I watched Dell ads for awhile and checked their website for something comparable. To get something comparable I would have had to spend at least another 100$. The set up was very easy, and it worked right out of the box, easily connecting to my wireless router. Also no problems with connecting my portable drive to it and transferring all my files over, even all my Outlook Express emails into the Windows Live Email program. I've had it a month and as long as it keeps going the way it is, it's a great computer and a great buy.

I know Gateway fell in value and reliability several years ago, however I feel that Gateway is producing good computers again. If you are looking for a good, reliable standard home computer then this is it. Great Bang for your Buck, have had no problems.

When I was ready to purchase a new desktop, I knew I wanted a few specific things. I wanted an Intel processor, and I wanted a substantial amount of RAM. I reviewed several CPUs before I settled on my Gateway, although I was just a bit nervous based on the few negative reviews I had read. I chose this CPU almost specifically because it had the features I wanted, and the price was very reasonable.
I have not been disappointed
