What's great about it: Looks cool light weight
What's not so great: The sound and how it feel on the head
I just got done trying these out and I got to say it is a let down
The sound is low grade and turning it up you get a hissing sound
And when you listen for most games it just sounds like a stereo headset
If you are looking for a good headset I'd look for a different model or brand
I'm looking at the turtle beach x41 next I hope it does better then this

I bought these to replace the TB PX21 and was very excited as I am a Gears of War fan. I knew going into this Tritton was a Mad Catz company and was hoping for the best. Taking these out, they were gorgeous and when I plugged them in the pulsating GOW logo got me very excited to test them. I instantly noticed a hissing like the volume was up all the way and after doing research I found out this is a common issue, so back they went. Was not impressed with surround sound
I ended up going with the Logitech F540s for wireless and no surround sound.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Easy to setup, comfortable, everything you need is in the box
What's not so great: Price, sound options, included accessories are of the lowest quality I've ever seen
I bought this based on reviews around the interwebs. I was wanting a universal solution for the 360 and PS3, while this will not work for the PS3 voice chat, I was okay with that given the other features.
When I got this home and unboxed it, the regret started to set in. All the cabling, including the base station felt very light and cheap. I've never seen such a thin toslink cable in my life. Xbox audio adapter was a nice inclusion, but even that was ridiculously cheap feeling. The headset itself is cool, the Gears artwork is nice and the set itself feels very sturdy with heavy cording and nice padding. The headset is pretty heavy, and after a couple hours of gaming I had sweaty ears and was starting to get a headache on the top of my head from the bar. In general though, very comfortable and pleasing to the eyes.
The set was easy to hookup, however the stand for the base station was very flimsy. The weight of the cabling made it tip over when set vertically. The lack of an optical out so that you could daisy chain or pass through to surround sound seems like a no brain feature at this price point, but alas, not there.
When I fired up the PS3 with this, I found the sound to be too bass heavy and have too strong mid tones and lacking high end. So I went to the manual to see what I could configure. Doh. You can choose from Stereo/Digital Surround Music/Digital Surround Movie. That's it. This was the moment when I decided to return them. I did not like the stock sound at all, the fact I couldn't turn down the bass made them flat out unusable for a long gaming session. At $180 maybe I had too high of expectations, but for a wired set, I would expect some extra bells and whistles.
The directional sound was very good, I could easily tell where sound was coming from, even very good job of front and back. But the lack of configuration of the quality of the sound was a deal breaker.
Returned and cast aside my hopes of a good universal setup and went with a PS3 only option. Writing a review on that headset next, it is much better and half the cost. I thought about getting a Turtle Beach setup, but the fact that the X41 would require an audio adapter for my 360 slim (I use HDMI) and rechargeable batteries, plus lackluster reviews lead me to just find a solid option for one system. Not sure why there isn't a solid option for the 360 with virtual surround that is wireless for the sub $100 price point. If Sony can do it, where are you M$???

This headset is great. When playing, just mute the tv speakers and you get crystal clear 3d sound from every direction. Even forward, which is the hardest to do for a 2 speaker headset. Voice is great, comfort is amazing. Would get again, and recommend to others.

What's great about it: Design and sound quality.
What's not so great: Optical audio and Usb cable used to connect to 360 are too long.
One thing about the price... it is a branded headset so even though there are headsets that are as good priced at like $150. Do know you are paying extra for the brand.
Good:
- The voices can be heard loud and clear. You can even hear how your voice comes through the headset.
- It does a good job of canceling out all the noise from the outside... Can barely hear someone walk into the room with these things on.
- Audio is great I can tell where the footsteps and gunfire are coming from.
- The design of the headset and the cable.
- IT JUST WORKS!

What's great about it: Pulsing Side Panels, 7.1 Dolby Surround, Crisp sound, Beautifully made headsets
What's not so great: Price, Alot of cords, better instructions on setup
i got these headsets the other day. i love them very much i love how the sides pulse the sound is loud and crisp. with true dolby sound played MW2 could hear a enemy's footsteps from a mile away. the microphone is perfect. you can hear yourself and others in the party talk and the controls are responsive. only thing is there are alot of cords but that is the only downside but other then that a fantastic product if your a Gears Fan i recommend them highly

Bought these after the mic in my x31 Turtle Beaches' went out. Of course i had black tie so best buy gave me in-store credit. I had always wondered how good the Trittons were because i see them quite often at gaming tournaments. Will return tomorrow for more Turtle Beach's.

What's not so great: AM Radio Frequency as background noise
The head phones are picking up a AM radio frequency 1530, its quite faint but annoying. In the cincinnati radio market that is ESPN radio. Mad Cat Needs to test these things before releasing them to the mass market.
