Took awhile for me to get use to the size compared to the smaller one I had before. Things looked stretched out at first but got use to it. I'm getting older so it is nice to see things on a bigger screen. Do wish it was higher up but all in all I like what I got and the price was good too.

What's not so great: Vertical viewing angle
This monitor fits my needs perfectly and is a great value for the money.
My only complaint is that the vertical viewing angle doesn't seem to be as stated. Horizontal is great, but vertical washes out at shallow angles.

What's great about it: Easy set-up, good color display and contrast
What's not so great: shaky when set up, no HDMI in.
I recently purchased this monitor along with a new tower from Best Buy, it was easy to set up and works very well as a wide-screen HD monitor.
The setup is simple, the colors are crisp and vivid and overall the monitor is easy to manage.
The one thing that was slightly disappointing is that the base doesn't connect very intuitively and once you have it set up, it is essentially just balancing the monitor on the base, so I would not place it near an area with kids or where there's a good chance of the computer desk being knocked into.

I am sure there are better monitors if you want to spend a lot of money, but for the price point, this is a superb monitor.
It is easy to assemble, the power button is lighted, and setup was a snap. Literally, I plugged it into my laptop, turned it on, and started using it. It warned me that the display needed to have the resolution increased, and provided onscreen instructions for doing that. The next thing I found that I did not expect was the ability to extend the display. Which means that I could set the Dell external monitor to be the primary display, and the laptop to be the secondary display and use them both at the same time. So I can have Photoshop open on my Laptop screen, and Illustrator open on the external, and work in both programs at the same time, without having to toggle them. A 21 inch and a 15 inch side by side, hooked to the same computer and not displaying the same image. It doesn't get better than that.

I found this monitor to be the "Most Bang For Your Buck" of all the monitors. The colors are vibrant and it has a nice clean look to it. The stand has a nice style, as well. A lot of the monitors are "hoopy". This one was clean-looking and the $35 price jump to go to a 23" was not worth it, considering there was only a 1.5" difference in size...very light...nice contrast in colors, too...cannot go wrong...my 2 cents.

What's great about it: Nice but muted colors, nice menu system, slim profile, lightweight
What's not so great: Text can be fuzzy, platform did not go in easily, plugs mount perpendicular, could be brighter, no DVI cable.
Dell makes nice monitors; I've used them at work a lot. Overall this monitor may be fine for most people depending on your applications. I found it to be average, nothing special. Putting it together went well except I wasn't sure if the base had secured properly. I didn't want to force it and apparently it had not because it detached from the screen without having to use the latch release in the back. The video/power plugs go in perpendicular to the monitor so as long as you don't want to hang it from a wall and have plenty of space behind it then that's fine; they are easier to plug in that way. It does not come with a DVI cable which was annoying because I did not have an extra one. So I tried it first with VGA and then swapped with the DVI cable from my Samsung monitor.
I tried and tested all the settings in the menu including different color modes, brightness/contrast etc. I also use the Nvidia control panel that comes with my video card to adjust it in addition to using ICM color profiles. Out of the box most monitors can be made to look better using those things. Sitting side by side with my older Samsung monitor, in spite of the Dell's advanced technology, it was not as good. It has very nice colors but they are muted. Perhaps because of the 250 cdm brightness compared to my Samsung's 300 cdm the Dell could not achieve the same brightness levels. I compared the same hi-res photo images on both monitors and the image looked better on the Samsung in terms of brightness and color. In addition the text on the Dell was not as sharp as on the Samsung. Again, I adjusted various settings on the monitor and on my computer OS to attempt to achieve the best result in vain.
I read a lot of reviews where people complain about backlight bleeding. This is generally a red herring since all of these low cost monitors have some backlight bleeding and most of the time depending on what you use it for you won't even notice it.
I decided I needed a monitor with sharper text, brighter screen, and more vibrant colors so I returned it!

I bought 2 of these to replace my monitors when 1 of them died. The picture is crisp and clear with full HD quality. I use it with a TV tuner card for sports games and the 2ms refresh is excellent for fast action.

I needed a very thin and lightweight monitor and this delivered more than I expected. For such a small monitor, I didn't expect 1920x1080. Monitors of this size are usually only up to 1600x900. The image quality is also very good and works very well with games.
Couple of flaws:
1. The screen isn't glossy, which is just a personal preference.
2. No USB outputs or HDMI inputs for console games.

I travel alot for work and have been looking for weeks for a new-style super-thin/light LED monitor which would fit in my carry-on bag. I have a 13" notebook and often I need to do visio and spreadsheet work on the road. I originally purchased the thin Acer 20" LED. However 1600x900 didn't offer much more desktop real estate than my laptop. In addition, the stand would not disconnect and made it's height difficult to zip up my carryon bag. I took it back and got this one. The stand is completely removable by pressing a quick release button located in back of monitor. The montitor is about 12x20.5" and just barely squeezes into my carryon back on top of clothes. The stand fits in a front pocket. Perfect!! 1920x1080 while on the road, GREAT for multiple apps's open,and I can be much more productive on the road. The resolution offers enough room to vpn into a system and another browser window open to research the web at same time if needed.

This is a great monitor especially for the low price it comes in. Not only is the image quality spectacular but so is the exterior design of it. It's incredibly thin and weighs very little. So far I am very happy with it!!!

Ive owened the Dell 21.5 Flat Panel Led for about a week now, and I love it. I went from a LCD to the LED, and WoW.. what a Difference.
I love the Size of the Monitor, and Dell makes great products, so I was not Hesitant to buy this Monitor. It was so easy to set up right out of the Box, and came right on, when hooked up. the only thing I find is the design of the on/off button . But other than that it's Great..!!
