There is a very bad horizontal line at the top

What's great about it: Easy to install.
What's not so great: Poor quality video.
The product puts a very bad horizontal sync line at the top of the picture. Also it says that it provides a choice of 4x3 format but it is still 720x480 and 640x480 resolution is not available. If you are looking for a product to use for anything other than DVD production it will not do it. The horizontal sync line is totally unacceptable. It also drops frames in the cabture of the video which shows as a small jump in the picture.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Very user friendly layout
I am a novice videographer and wanted to combine different formats together into 1 DVD, from my Sony Handycam, My VHS home movies, and my 8mm home movies. This software worked perfectly for my needs. In one day I created a highlight DVD for my son's wrestling team, adding soundtrack music as well as text banners during the video. The tutorial easy to understand and the layout very user friendly. I don't know if it is good software for a professional but definitely a good buy for a beginner.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: You can return it when it does not perform within 14 days.
What's not so great: Everything, especially the VERY LIMITED DVD Menu items.
As always, my goals is functionality and ease of use. Even after spending the extra cash for the "Platinum" version, I was EXTREMELY disappointed to find out that after all the video downloading, editing, and finishing, this cheesy program only allows you to choose ONE menu page!! This was unfathomable to me! You can create a "main" menu page, and a "chapter" menu page, BUT when you attempt to "BURN" the DVD, you MUST choose one or the other, you cannot have both!!! I returned it at once in favor of the far better, much more user friendly, and, most importantly FULLY FUNCTIONAL version of Magix Movie Edit Pro! I suggest you do the same IF you want a PROFESSIONAL DVD!

What's great about it: It has saved me a lot of money.
I have used the Dazzle to convert VHS to DVD, LP"s to CD's 45's to CD's and cassettes to CD's with all the ease in the world.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After spending two hours of transfering video from VCR to software the program decided not to work. Tried several avenues to rectify the problem but I ran out of patience. Taking the program back to Best Buy in the morining with my receipt and a put on smile. Should have gone with my first intentions which was buying Roxio software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's not so great: Misleading product name, unable to fulfill the purpose that the product was purchased for
The 'Dazzle Video Creator Platinum HD' does come with software that is compatible with High Definition video but does not come with the ability to actually RECORD in HD.
Because the Dazzle is restricted to S-Video and Composite cables, the product is unable to record high definition video. I followed all the instructions to record a game in HD and as long as the gaming device is set to HD, the software receives no signal (because the product cannot receive the data). When a device is switched to standard definition (using the xbox 360 as an example) the software begins to recognize the input device (the Dazzle product) and can record in standard definition.
If you intend on using the Dazzle to record anything in HD, beware of the fact that it cannot actually process HD video.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
