Short and sweet. If you're looking to start video streaming your video games I would save money for something else.

What's great about it: Easily portable, no chassis installation issues, as it's USB.
What's not so great: Poor quality, poor hardware compatibility, headacke after a few hours...
As another review I've read, if you are looking for a hardware easy to install, portable, just to transfer your old VHS tapes to a CD/DVD, ok. Nothing more than that.
It didn't work with my hardware. The image, with poor quality, goes throught the dazzle hardware, but without sound. I had to use a RCA/3.5mm adapter to record the sound using the microphone/in-line jack of my sound board, and after that I had to deal with the resulting lip sync problem.
No way to get StudioHD to work. I used NERO Vision.

What's great about it: Fairly easy to set up.
What's not so great: Horrible picture Quality. NOT HIGH DEFINITION !!!!
I bought this capture device for two reasons, first to transfer my old VHS tapes to DVD format. For this use and this use alone the Dazzle HD worked. However this is not a HD device. The closest to HD this comes is S-Video, and S-Video is far from high definition. The second reason I bought this was to capture Xbox games. This is not a good device for this process. HORRIBLE PICTURE QUALITY! The Dazzle could not keep up with the images on the screen. It will drop frames quite a bit, and video will speed up randomly to catch up with the sound, when there is sound.
If your intentions are to ONLY copy old VHS tapes this will work, setup is fairly easy and the editing software is relatively easy to use. On the other hand if your main objective is to capture video game images do not purchase this product. Spend a little more money for a high speed actual HD device.

What's great about it: The box was nice
What's not so great: The product, customer service, tutorial, do I need to say more
Don't waste your money. I planned on transferring all my videos over from my camcorder to DVD. This thing has a bad transfer rate and skipped a lot of data. Customer service is a joke. They shouldn't be able to even call it that because when I did get through to them I couldn't get anything in English. So if you want to waste your time go ahead and by it, otherwise steer clear.

What's great about it: Mediocre price, Mediocre setup and installation, fast exporting at low quality.
What's not so great: Speeds up for some reason, needs extra stuff sold separately, crashes all the time, extremely slow exporting at 480p.
I don't mean it in a bad way but this is for noobs,although this is an extremely good capture device or recording device for beginners in uploading video to YouTube, like me. Its method of recording is not as explained in the manual though. And you need many extra cables to operate it such as an RCA cable,3 Y adapters ( 2 female 1 male ), and that is pretty much it. If you want to upload COD ( Call of duty ) game plays, I highly recommend this if you are a beginner at it or have just started. And don't think Its so extremely cheap its not really $50, in total of all the cables plus the capture device you spend about $80, but still you get what you pay for but if you do have or you are willing to buy a HD PVR such as a Hauppauge and you haven't even started making videos, then I don't recommend buying the Hauppauge. If you start making videos and you don't do too good and you fail then you wasted $200. Once you have become good at commentating and want to become bigger on YouTube, then get the Hauppauge. But this is like a bicycle with training wheels and the Hauppauge is the bicycle without training wheels.
Pros: This is a very easy but long setup and installation.
Cons: Speeds up video for absolutely no reason while recording game play at some times, Records at maximum 480p, and if you want to record at 480p(pretty good quality ) it takes forever to export video file. For easy export files you need to put the video file at medium or small and it will come out at 240p( very bad quality).

What's not so great: Software difficult to use
Bought this for my sons to capture xBox 360 game play. Software difficult to use and product mediocre quality. Return to back to Best Buy - just was too much work.

What's great about it: Easy to use, great picture quality, and durable
What's not so great: takes couple hours to upload to youtube
Overall this is dazzle is outstanding for the test.(Test on my dazzle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bknHN6sbkB8 ). It's not very good with the out of the box settings, but you can change them easily. Over all it's great for the price and if your looking to make montages and game reviews, then this dazzle is for you! I recommend this to any one on a budget below $100. If your willing to pay $180 for a hd pvr then buy that.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I installed the software on my PC per the instructions and hooked the device to my PC and Toshiba VHS/DVD recorder/player. When copying a VHS tape to the PC, it briefly (fraction of a second) stopped and then began again. It did this every 10 seconds. This hesitation was inserted into the copy, making it unusable. The Avid/Pinnacle online support team was not able to easily solve the problem. They sent me an email offering me a discount on the upgraded product. Needless to say, I returned the product to Bestbuy and got a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
