You're enjoying the game — but there's something missing. While you're trying to listen to crucial dialogue, the drone of your neighbor's lawn mower drowns out what the characters are saying. Providing excellent game sound, crystal-clear communication and comfortable wear, the Ear Force X12 Gaming Headset for Xbox 360 lets you fall in love with the gaming experience all over again. Enjoy depth and realism in your favorite games with the variable bass boost, and immerse yourself in the gameplay as the amplified audio enhances the sound like you've never heard before. Drown out unwanted noise and listen to what your game has to say through the premium 50mm speakers that provide high-fidelity sound. Plan out attacks, plays and ambushes as you communicate with your friends using the high-sensitivity microphone with flexible boom, and hear what you're saying with the microphone monitor. Take control of the audio settings and quickly and easily make adjustments with the in-line amplifier. With a fully adjustable, lightweight design and breathable, fabric mesh ear cushions, you can comfortably enjoy long gaming sessions. And you thought your favorite games couldn't get any better.

What's great about it: Sound Quality and Comfort
What's not so great: Hissing noise with in game chat
Bought this and had to return it twice because of a hissing noise during chat in or out of the game (MW3). Adjusted everything and looked everywhere online to try and fix it - nothing. I read more positive reviews with the newer slim xboxes, but it was terrible and not worth the price. Going with a wireless to see if that helps

What's great about it: price, performance
What's not so great: alot of cables, need extra part
Wow these are my first pair of gaming headphones and so far very impress. I was looking to buy a pair mostly for gaming and didn't want to spend over 100 on headphones and after reading so many good reviews on these I decided to give them a try. They work incredibly the sound is rich and the mic works just fine. If your looking for a good set of headphones don't think twice these work great. Just one con is that if you have an older Xbox 360 your gonna need the audio av cable.

What's great about it: Comfort, design, sound
These are a great pair of headsets, I fully recommend these to anyone who is looking for a quality headset and does not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a more expensive one, this headset is great for sound you can clearly hear enemies sneaking up on you in FPS, I feel that I will be using these for a long time before looking for another one, one tip I have is to do not use rechargeable batteries when your mic is plugged in to chat, because everyone once in a while it will produce this high pitch ringing sound that your friends will be constantly annoyed with, so I would suggest either using a wired controller or just some plain batteries.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Comfortable
What's not so great: Too many wires!
I had the TB X11's then upgraded to these, if you have the X11's you will like the X12's even more, same basic design, very comfortable, now added bass booster, and now in black so they look allot cooler! They sound a little better too, so overall I am very pleased with the X12's and Best Buy has the best price online and doing in store pickup is so easy, you order online abnd choose your local store to pick up at, then go pick it up in like 20 minutes, no waiting for UPS shipping and dealing with all that hassle, thanks Best Buy!

What's great about it: Everything including saving $20 on an adapter that you don't need.
What's not so great: Nothing so far.
Bottom line, awesome headset. Great price and quality.
You do not need the seperate purchase of an adapter for HDMI! If you are running HDMI simply take the A/V cable that came with the system, You'll notice the tab that covers the HDMI port. Simply cut that off and plug it in like the adapter in the instruction, your not using it for anything else anyway. Yes, it is that simple. Works great and saves you $20. Hope this helps.

What's great about it: It is a total package
What's not so great: Ear cuffs could be better
First off let me say that I am reviewing these based on their price range but I will say that they perform better than some above them in price.
You WILL NOT find a better headset for the price, you simply will not. I have tried most of the headsets in this price range and these are above them all in sound and comfort. The only other headset I think is close is the Sharkoon XP Static, but it only has 40mm drivers and there is a difference in bass and immersing feel. Let me also explain why these sound better, I just recently tried the Tritton Detonators and I was really excited because they looked so sweet and they were really hyped at E3 but they didn't add up so they went back, I don't think they used a quality driver (speaker) in the Detonator. It's the opposite for the Turtle Beach X12's, they have to use the best drivers they can get their hands on because even the X11's with the 40mm driver sound better than Tritton's 50 mm. That makes a huge difference in your sound, you have to use quality drivers, it's like buying a 12" sub from KMart and then you go online and buy a 10" Rockford Fosgate power series sub, the 10" will absolutly destroy the cheap 12" you got from KMart. So a quality driver makes all the difference, remember that.
The sound from the X12's are very accurate and filling.
They are also very comfortable, I would like to see them use a micro swede cover on the ear cuffs instead of the soft mesh, but they are still fairly comfortable.
Alot of people get hung up on "Man those look so cool, I think they look cooler than these X12's" if your all about looking cool your going to miss out on sound, but the X12's imo do look good. Oh and the cord issue people talk about, quit saying it's too long, not everyone sits 6 inches from their TV some people play on a larger TV and like to sit and chill on their couch, this let's them do that and be comfortable any distance. If the cord is to long just wrap up the slack and bread tie it, this is not a con.
Bottom Line...... It doesn't get any better than this for less than 60 bucks, I have done the research for you, I hope this helps.

What's great about it: Sound, Look
What's not so great: Cord too long
I normally don't buy turtle beaches but I needed a headset so I took a risk in buying these & they are well worth the price, sound is good, they look pretty cool & are comfortable. Only problem is the really long cord but I hide that behind my TV so it's not much of an issue

What's great about it: Comfortable, Great sound, and very well built
What's not so great: Long Chord and additional $20 purchase for HDMI
After using my Turtle Beach X12's for a couple of weeks I have fallen in love with them. They are very comfortable and have amazing sound. Some of the cons however are that they have a long chord that goes to your tv and 360 if you want to run HDMI and one thing they forget to tell you is if you want to run HDMI hookup you have to go buy another audio adapter so your HDMI cable will fit. Other than these two minor cons this headset is flawless and is very well built. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the additional $20 purchase and insanely long chord.

Ok so I bought this headset primarly because I'm a really competitive gamer. These were ok. One thing I really haven't heard anyone talk about is it works with any game console for audio. Not for talking to people just for hearing like a movie on your t.v. on your ps2 , ps3 and wii. It's really convient so if someone is sleeping but you don't want to wake them just mute your t.v. and plug them the headset in and hear everything. The cord is massively long. Now lets talk about the sound qualty of the mic and chat and game sounds. The mic sometimes echos and it annoys everyone. And its really loud. I put it were before I got the headset I would normally put it so my voice wasn't loud. But with these it still is really loud. That's good that the mic is really dectecible but its a bit to detecible. The game sounds are amazing. I once thought my t.v. was on so I took them off and my t.v. was muted. Thats how good it is. The comfort was pretty decent. After about 2 hours it knida started to hurt. But overall there decent not bad but not to god. There worth $60.

What's not so great: Sound
My son purchased this for his X-Box. The other kids he plays with via x-box live are saying that there's an echo. We received a new cord to connect to the controller, but it's still not working. Turtle Beach thought that was the problem, but apparently not.

What's great about it: Comfort, Sound blocking, Sound quality.
What's not so great: Price (kinda).
Earlier today I went to my local Best Buy and picked on of these up. The first thing I noticed was the comfort and the almost 100% sound blocking design, it was well made in that respect, I have noticed that all turtle beach headsets seem slightly expensive, but so far as I have seen ( Have bought 3 TB headsets so far) they are worth the price. Thus meaning whether you are a PC Gamer or an Xbox gamer this headset should appeal to you.

Great headset.
Quality made headset. Sound is good. I like the game and chat volume control.
There are options in how you can hook the headset up.
If you are charging your controller battery, and are using the chat, there is a slight hum. But in the middle of playing, you don't notice it very much.
The headset could be a little more comfortable, but it is not bad.
Sometimes the wires get in the way.

What's great about it: Effective. Clear audio.
What's not so great: Bulky. Expensive.
The one thing I hate on these is the long cord. It goes on forever. I also don't like how it hooks into the audio lines of your TV. It makes you disconnect them and input their wire in the middle, like a go between or splitter.
The product works well, but I would recommend getting the $50 wireless one that simply fits on one ear.

What's great about it: Quality, aggressive pricing for less than many name brand mid range products
What's not so great: Would like to see Bass Boost added to this product as opposed to having to purchase additional module
A great alternative to "name" brand headphones for gaming and computer use. Product works flawlessly and produces dynamic and true sound without having to step up an additional $50-$100 dollars for a similar product. Their other less expensive X-11 is value priced and is basic and is equivilent to most entry-level products available for $20-$30. This product, the X-12, is as good or better than Sony and other mid-range products at a much less cost. Would recommend.
