What's great about it: prints great pictures and colored documents
What's not so great: nothing i have noticed
We had a workforce 600 for 3 years that finally went bad, wanted another one but no longer available so we tried a different workforce, it was way too big for our needs so we returned it for this one. This is perfect! same size as the 600 was, prints great photos and quickly. uses individual ink cartridges but they are decently priced and seem to last a long time. I have been printing pics like crazy since we got it months ago and not even a warning that ink is low! Very happy with this printer!

What's great about it: have not found what is so great yet
What's not so great: wireless print speed
So slow with wireless, I got ticked off with a single page type print that after waiting some time, I drove back to best buy to get a printer cable. Five mile drive to the store. When I returned in about 45 minutes it began printing the page. You should have heard the words I called it. Works fine with a printer cable.

What's great about it: Wireless feature is sweet!
What's not so great: It doesn't print or scan double-sided documents
The features on this printer rock. The wireless feature, scanner, and copier have worked flawlessly so far. The installation was super easy. It took a little longer for the drivers to install than what I'm used to, but it was worth it. I love this little printer! I recommend it to you all!

What's great about it: Decent quality for print and copies...havenlt tried photo prints
What's not so great: So far nothing
I was in need of an all-in-one printer for use at home, and searched the web for the best price. When the results included Epson 545 Workforce, at an unbelievably low price at my local Best Buy, I drove straight to the store and purchased. Within minutes of unpacking, I was sending faxes and making copies....setup as a breeze. The added bonus of wireless connectivity just made the deal that much better. I have had the printer for about a month and so far it meets my needs perfectly, and would recommend to anyone looking for low cost, decent quality wireless all-in-one.

What's great about it: Printing and speed
What's not so great: Set up and cheap body plastic
Printing is great. Set up to use cable was horrible 5 hour job that ended in failure. Wireless set up was a snap. Body of printer is of lower quality plastic which surprised me, paper tray would be easy to break, but printing features are really excellent and so is speed. Long lasting ink, too. Best Buy has 20% off for ink on Wednesdays which is a great deal. Over all I think it's a great buy.

What's great about it: everything so far
What's not so great: nothing so far
I bought this printer to finally replace an old epson cx4800, though nothing was technically wrong with it yet (although I did have to help it feed the paper sometimes, but that's it - and it's old remember#, actually I still have it put away as a solid back up.
But the WF 545... What a unit! Yes! It prints WAY FAST! It blew mw away! My folks just got a new gee-whiz do it all hp printer with all the bells and whistles #that they'll NEVER use#, and everytime they fire it up it takes like 5 minutes to warm up 1st! My 545 prints stuff right now! And QUICKLY! The print quality is phenomonal! Text/picture and photo!
I bought this because of MUCH research I did 1st to see about "at home" refill kits #such as the one I've been using with my cx 4800 for well over a year now#, it is IMPARATIVE to me to find a refillable cartridge #non oem# that will have a resettable chip that "fools" the epson printer. That's what I have in my old epson and it works great! Problem is that I had to wait an extra year for those companies to catch up and be capable of making a "new epson 9 pin style chip" #again, my old one uses the 7 pin style#. So I had to wait to get a newer printer. I love the epson quality and ease of use.
The set up basically took care of itself. The wireless connection and all. All I really had to do was keep clicking next. Pitty for the "CRAPPLE" users who have had issues with this unit... they set up with windows as smooth as silk! I also really dig the printing from my android phone. Just make it an e-mail #attachments - text... whatever#, and send it to the e-mail address assigned to my printer #which is in my phone contacts#, and presto! A picture I took and sent 25 miles away from home was printed and waiting for me when I walked in the door! Needless to say, I'm VERY stoked about this printer.
I'm just waiting for my new WF 545 compattible/refillable cartridges to show up. Because as any epson user know... them inks ain't cheap!! That's why I did VERY detailed and extensive research on this printer and such cartridge compatibility before I bought it. with my cx 4800 original epson ink would cost around $45 a set. With the cartridges and bottles of ink I bought #$50 total... maybe?#, I've been printing like there's no tomorrow! Plenty of ink in my bottles, just need the cartridges to show up.
I WILL update more later when I get those cartridges and post to report on how those work out. And if I can I'll also post where to get the products to do so. I do it at my own risk, but have had no issues with the cx4800 and consistently got very high quality prints with the product. Thanks EPSON!

What's great about it: It has Airprint capabilities; It is wireless...sometimes
What's not so great: Does not print lebigbly with "draft" quality; high ink consumption
I have had this printer for just over a month now. I purchased this printer because it seemed like it was a good deal. Knowing what I know now, I would have paid a little extra money to get a much better printer. I strongly advise against this printer. Here are some cons that I have run into so far:
1. The printer does not pick up a wireless signal from my router unless the router is sitting on top of the scanner. I had it sitting ~ 2 feet away on a table, and it would not pick up the signal.
2. I usually like to print things in the "draft" quality because it saves money with ink and it's much faster. I had an hp photosmart printer (C4180 model) before this one, and the draft quality for standard documents was just as good as the normal quality. However, with this printer, I could barely read the draft quality; therefore, I am having to waste A LOT of ink. In fact, the "fast draft" option for my hp printer is 100 times better than the draft option for this printer. If my hp printer were wireless I would throw this one out and just keep using that one.
3. The 126 cartridge claims it will print 385 pages with black ink. I have no idea where they got this from, because I have printed approximately 200 pages (or less) in a month, and I just had to switch out my black ink. Basically, I'm not even half way through a ream of paper yet since I've had this printer. This problem wouldn't be as much of an issue if the draft quality was legible. The black ink cartridge with my hp printer would last for months. I could usually get through close to two reams of paper (almost 1,000 pages) with my hp printer.
4. The printer interrupts it's current print job to make you replace an ink cartridge. I usually try to use every bit of ink I can since all printers are notorious for giving you the low ink warning, when in reality you have plenty of ink to last you for a while longer. I had the low ink sign for only a few days, and although the last page it printed was not the least bit faded, it would not complete the document until I changed the ink cartridge.
5. Because I have to print in regular quality, the printing is incredibly slow. It often has to "take a break," so to speak, in the middle of printing a 5 page word document.
6. When I was attempting to set up the wireless printing for the first time, I tried to contact them through their email service, but did not get a response from them. The next day, I called them and was able to speak to an epson employee. However, she hung up on me before my problem was resolved. (The problem was that the printer was not picking up a wireless signal even though the router was next to the printer). From other reviews I have read about epson customer service employees, this is not uncommon.
Pros:
1. It has airprint capabilities for the iPad. I have tried this a few times, and it takes probably a good 3-4 minutes to print one page from the iPad. I don't know how quick other airprint printers are when printing from the iPad though.
2. It has a scanner, but so do a lot of other much better printers.
3. It's wireless...sometimes.
4. The "normal" quality printing option is good, but it consumes A LOT of ink!!

What's great about it: Looks awesome& holds lots of paper - that's it!
What's not so great: POOR print quality, slow speed, terrible wireless concept
This is the first time Epson let me down - completely in this case! I bought this printer for the wireless features and the ability to print from my smartphone. There are several issues users need to be aware of:
1. If you are using a Mac with Lion OS, you will need to download all the software from Epson or Apple - you cannot use the CD!
2. If you have a smartphone other than an iPhone, you can still use the wireless feature, but only if you e-mail your information to the printer - no sending directly to your printer. This is so round about it isn't funny.
3. If you want to print photos - good luck! I aligned the heads, cleaned the heads, and all 15 pages I printed were banded...not little blemishes I could live with, HUGE bands of faded blaaaa. I even deleted and reinstalled the software, aligned and cleaned the heads again, and still blaaaa.
4. Text was just as bad as the photos
5. The speed was ok at best - don't let the Epson Cheetah fast commercial fool you - the print speeds shown on the advertisements are NOT what you will be getting! I'm not certain what the PC version of the software looks like, but the Mac version includes the ability for fast print (sacrificing some quality) and slow print. Slow is horribly slow, and fast is nowhere near what is advertised. The poor print quality was present on fast and slow print speeds.
6. Setting up the printer was pretty tedious since I had to set up an e-mail address for the printer to use with my smartphone.
7. And I really hated that the software is piece milled. You need to install ABBY, Adobe, print driver, scanning software, ink level monitoring software, and everything piece by piece - not fun by any means.
The best part about this printer was I purchased it at Best Buy and they took it back from me with no questions asked, refunded my purchase to my Rewards card, and even refunded the Rewards points I spent on this product. I might try Epson one more time, but will try a higher end model such as the 845 and hopefully not get stuck with another lemon. I normally like Epson products, but they let me down on this one.

What's great about it: Many features for its cost.
What's not so great: Print speed
Our first use of this printer was to send a FAX to secure a hotel reservation. Took us two tries to get it right (our error) but it worked beautifully. Features are great. Print speed is same as or slightly slower than the printer it replaced, but adequate for our needs. I wouldn't want to make 200 copies of anything! We've only used it for 3 weeks, so aren't able to report on all of its features or ink consumption.

Printer is working very well so far (~2 months). It prints very quickly, very quietly and it holds a lot of paper. I've printed a few 4x6 pictures with it and they look pretty good, but I primarily use it for printing documents. Additionally, I am a Mac user and had no problems setting it up for wireless use with my Apple equipment. I would buy this printer again.

What's great about it: Quick printing capabilities, great price, easy installation.
I'm on dial-up, so no matter what my task is it's never easy. However, this new Epson WorkForce545 was so simple and quick to install with the CD for my wired application. It prints super fast even with color. The print quality is superb, especially when printing photos. The conrol panel on the front of the printer is compact and very organized which makes any function an easy task. I can't imagine a higher quality printer for the price.
