What's great about it: The camera is extremely easy to use and with the wide array of accessories, It can be used anywhere anytime.
What's not so great: The only issue I have is that the accessories are a little pricey.
I bought the GoPro so I could video my kids wake boarding and tubing behind my SeaDoo. I take it with me whenever we go to the beach to ride or swim. I have videoed everything from dolphins to pelicans with it as well. I have been blown away with the quality of video it produces and I am happy with how easy it is to use.

What's great about it: You get great wide angle shots
What's not so great: Fogs up easily in the waterproof case. You need the anti fog inserts.
I bought this for my daughter for action shots when tubing off the boat. The first week I had it she went parasailing and I attached it to her life vest. It took really nice wide angle videos even though it fogged up.

It's a great little video camera for capturing every day life events (ordinary and not so ordinary). Love all the different type of attachments for different situations of use. Don't like that the battery life is so short.

I owned the original GoPro Hero for about 5 years now and enjoyed it. I bought this newer model because my daughter and I were running a 5k obstacle race and wanted both our perspectives. This newer model is much, MUCH better than the old. Other than stats (they upgraded it form 5 to 11 megapixels, etc), the single greatest upgrade was the new, easier to use LCD screen. I can't tell you how many vids I made upside down because I se the old one wrong. This new Hero2 literally flips the reading so it can be read right side up. Hard to explain, lol. The LCD reading on the old version was static. If you used it upside down, the words were upside down. New one flips the words over so you know it will record correctly, if that makes sense, lol. Trust me, its better. Also, the included rechargeable battery lasts longer in the new Hero2 than the best AAA batteries ever did in the older Hero. By hours.
I can't say enough about GoPro's in general. I've attached them both inside and outside my sports car, on my road bike, my helmet and for the run, we bought the Chesty that holds it securely in the center of your chest.
Sound has been upgraded and noticeable. Especially when we watched video side-by-side between the versions. And this model came with an open case for use in dry conditions for even better sound!
Did I mention I use it for skin diving also? Both salt and freshwater.
Complaining about the price is petty really, but they asked for what the worst of it was and there wasn't anything else...

Awesome camera for taking action shots at the Sand Dunes, or in the forest. Anywhere you want to use this camera it goes. Runs great, never had any problems with it. Overall, great product for anyone that wants a camera to take with you on your many adventures.

This is a great camera with a nice wide angle. You can get real close and capture everything in the frame The versatility of the mounts makes it easy to shoot action while having you hands free. Check out the slow motion video I made with the camera attached to the handlebars of his tricycle

What's not so great: Expensive
Great camera for all action sports. Tons of mounts for every activity. Battery life is good. Class 10 card is needed for the 10 burst photo shots. Photos have a slight bubble effect when using the hard case, due to the shell, but angle is adjustable to lessen effect. Overall, camera is great and clearly the winner over other "adventure cameras".

This camera is honestly the coolest and most fun toy I have ever had. At the same time, it is very simple and professional. This camera is small, shock proof, and best yet, waterproof. I literally threw it in a lake with the floaty back door, while it was filming. I am the kind of person that is usually afraid to get my electronics and gadgets get wet or broken. The Hero 2 has been on the outside of my car, on a long board doing 40 mph, my Fourwheeler helmet, and my bike handle bars. Best camera I've ever had. Oh, and the coolest feature is the time lapse photo capture.

I am a professional photographer. I bought this for a few projects we had on the books and I have toyed with it quite a bit lately. Boy, am I glad I picked THIS camera rig up! It's AWESOME! This is my fifth waterproof type camera since the mid 1970's and I LOVE this little thing!
I have gotten this thing wet TWICE now. ACK!! Both due to MY own personal boneheadedness, not paying attention and NOT swapping out the backing plates (From vented to non-vented for water) when I switched from land to WATER. Other than feeling like a complete idiot I PRAYED that it would still work...
This last time, in SCUBA class, I flooded it - and I DO mean FLOODED it. I almost cried right there in front of the SCUBA class! I shook it all out and yanked the battery out ASAP. I held it in front of the AC vents in the truck on the way home - for all that DRY air. When I got home I dropped the camera and LCD unit in a ziplock baggie with a hand full of rice. I left it there overnight hoping that it would draw moisture out of it.
About 8 hours later - I took it out of the bag and popped a fresh battery in - figuring it would smoke in my hands or probably just do absolutely nothing...
IT WORKED!!!
I am so very impressed!
(I stuck it back in there for another 24 hrs - JUST in case!)
The guys who make these things KNOW you are going to be an idiot once or twice I guess. They made a product that can stand up to my kids knocking it around, my wife DROPPING it a couple of times and stupid ME not swapping out backing plates and getting it wet - if it still works after all of that, those guys get EIGHT thumbs UP!
Sure, it is tiny and the menus are sort of cryptic - but you aren't paying for it to be pretty, you are paying for it to perform. And OH YEAH it performs! I have YET to come out with some BAD video off of this thing... The underwater pictures are amazing!
I would love to recommend this to a friend - and go diving to demonstrate it!
NOW my wife wants one! LOL

What's great about it: its toughness, easy to use, size, every thing except underwater
What's not so great: anything underwater
It is a pretty good little video camera if you don't mind the wall eye effect it has on most of your still pictures and sometimes noticeable in the video. If you scuba dive this camera does not take good underwater video or still picture due to the way the lens is made for the wide angle shots. Every thing is burry, you have to spend about 80 more dollars to get an after market flat lens to either replace the original lens or one to put over the original there are several out there just have to google them. This camera does do well out of the water and you can get some good shots with it. It can take video in several different modes so you can get some very good slow motion stuff and take all the way up to 1080p in wide, medium and narrow angles.

I really like my little camera for video, it lacks a little in picture quality. There seems to be some curvature on the edges. As long as the subject in in the center or near it it's great, it's also a little dificult to focus on the subject without a view finder or view screen.

The dynamic range is also improved. I would recommend this to any sports enthusiast looking to capture the action!!!

I purchased this product primarily for mounting to my motorcycle helmet and/or the handlebars. I've only had a chance to use it a few times so far, but I am impressed with the quality of the pictures and video considering its size and simplicity.
Getting used to the setup and has a little bit of a learning curve, but overall I think most any novice could pick this up and start working with it.
It would be nice if it had a longer battery life and/or standby option.

What's not so great: Need for a mount without the plastic shell.
For folks who know the intended use, this camera has Great features. 1080p, three differently degrees of view that you select. It has mounts for everything available. Great wide angle 11mp photos. Best of all, excellent outdoors, but fairly good lighting for those fun indoor shots. I know I've stuck it to a goal at a kids basketball and was very surprised at the view and the sound with the open back.

This camera could replace any digital camera you have! 11mp still shots? Crystal clear 1080p video? Awesome! I have helmet-mounted it, wore it on chest mount, snowmobiling, atv, skiing, swimming. Waterproof housing works flawlessly! Can't wait to mount it on my motorcycle this spring. Buttons are easy to reach/press and it only takes a few times to memorize the functions cycle so that you can change settings without looking at the camera. I added the LCD backpack to check the recording angle on the move.

This camera is a lot of fun to use. There are so many things you can do with it. I thought I would trouble with lining up shots/video, but the field of view is so wide, it isn't an issue. However I will probably still get the LCD add-on. I would be really bummed to miss a great video or picture because I didn't get it lined up. My only small gripe is the single picture mode is a bit slow. I am too used to my DSLR.
