What's great about it: OLED eyepiece viewer and info display and fast focus capability.
What's not so great: Instruction manual
I have had many high end cameras over 40 years. This one has every feature that I could ask for. I really liked the feature that turns on the auto focus when you look into the eyepiece. The manual is sparse and gives only the most basic information of how to use the features. Inexperienced users would probaly not understand how to get the most out of this camera and just leave it in auto mode, which is fine, but does not use the power of the camera's features.
The kit lens are cheaply made and not even worth the low price. Save the money to get one good lens. Even though I bought it, I should have saved the money to pay for the Sigma 2.8f, 17-50mm that I got the next week.

What's great about it: Lots of abilities-more than most will ever use
What's not so great: Nothing yet
I researched DSLRs for over a year and when the A65 came out I knew it was the best value for the money. I had to wait a few months until BB had it in a bundle sale, but after a month of use I really like this camera. It takes great pictures and I am still learning new tricks-I will be learning for a long time. Even though there is a long learning curve it doesn't mean that you can't take good pics out of the box. I am just trying to get more "artsy." I got a 75-300mm zoom lens as part of the bundle and this allows me to take great action shots at my kids' soccer games. Battery life is fine so far though I haven't done any all day shooting. I do recommend buying a book to help get the most out of it as the included manual isn't great. The panorama feature is really nice. The OLED viewfinder is amazing and it is nice that it is a WYSIWYG finder.

What's great about it: The fast and continues auto focus.
What's not so great: Nothing so far.
This is my first DSLR camera. I have had several point and shoot cameras over the years but I wanted to upgrade to a higher quality camera. I did a lot of research before purchasing this camera. I compared the Canon T3i, Canon 60D and the Nikon D5100 because of similar price points. I found that the Sony a65 seemed to find focus faster when taking photos and the Sony has continues auto focus in video mode due to the translucent mirror. I have had this camera for approximately two weeks now. I've taken more than three hundred photos and a dozen or so videos. I have been very please with the quality of photos and videos. My daughter just graduated from college this weekend and the photos we took are awesome. I know I have a lot to learn using this camera but I feel that I bought to right camera for me. This camera is easy to use even for a beginner. Make sure you buy a class 10 memory card. I use the Sandisk 16GB class 10.

What's great about it: So easy to use even though DSLR.
What's not so great: No vertical grip.
This is my first SLR and I've been comparing between Nikon and Canon all the time. I've been looking everywhere including Costco and other wholesales but when I tried on Sony a55, such an easy to use even though SLR and love the picture quality. And sales associate from BestBuy told me that a65 will be out in March 2012 so waited and got it. I've been using this indoor and out with my newborn baby girl and so far love this camera.

What's not so great: EVERYTHING IS GREAT!!!
This camera is by far the best ever!!! It is very easy to use and the photos it takes are awsome!! very good quality photos. The main reason I wanted it was so I could get photos of my 2 boys playing basketball, I have had many different cameras and have never had one that will take such good quality photos in a gym setting. They are very clear!! I love the 10 fps with basketball too. Would definatly reccomend to family and friends~you will love this camera. Happy snapping!!!

What's great about it: BIONZ®, 24MP CMOS, 3D, OLED viewfinder, Full HD 1920x1080 photos & videos, superb 10fps, 3D Sweep Panorama, GPS, etc.
What's not so great: No connection cord on the lenses cap, kinda pricey accessories
Today, I went to BestBuy and I bought ourselves the latest of Sony products.
All I can say - This super hi-tech gizmo is an amazing product! The Sony SLT-A65V is 100% automatic and an exceptionally well specified camera for its class that includes so far the best 24MP CMOS sensor(highest in its class), the World first OLED EVF and the super fast 10fps continuous mode that are real stand-out features in the mid-level bracket of the market. Add the well thought-out ergonomics to that and I got myself a camera that is an absolutely pleasure and fun to use in almost any shooting situation. Very satisfied!
Thumbs up Sony!

This is an amazing and inventive camera. the new sony viewfinder and mirrorless technology combined with an amazing sensor make this a fun camera to use. The controls are easy to get to and the high ISO lets you take great low light shots. This is a great camera for every day photographers and profesionals.

What's great about it: An amazing amount of features and range of quality lenses are available.
What's not so great: Battery life is a bit short, but otherwise no issues to date
When the A65 and A77 were announced and reviewed, both became very difficult to find. I finally was able to order an A65 in January. Wow, what a camera! I was pleased to see a product that exceeded the reviews. I'm still on a bit of a learning curve, but the images are spectacular. I can see that as I gain understanding , I'll be able to more fully use all of the capabilities.

What's great about it: fits any skill level
What's not so great: had to wait 40 years for it to be built
I've been a shutterbug since age 12 and as such I've had basic camera's like the pentax K1000 up to a Nikon S3. My wife on the other hand only wants and has had point and shoot cameras. This new a65 is a perfect fit for both of us.She loves the fact that she can put on full auto and doesn't even have to worry about focusing or if she should use a flash and still take as good of a picture as I can in most cases, which means I finaly get to be in some of our family outing pictures (most of you guys out there know what I mean). And yet I can take the camera and on full manual play with my night time photography and timed exposures. My bottom line on this is, for the money spent you can't buy a better more feature full camera. My best buy in a ver long time!

I bought this as in store pickup, had it for a week now and took it on a cruise to the Bahamas. Almost perfect camera, very nice features. A lot of the pictures don't need photoshopping :) I use it primarily for video and get a lot of film looking shots. I say almost perfect because it doesnt do autofocus on video at lower than f3.5 numbers, or greater apertures, I had a 35mm 1.8 and it still would do AF with 3.5 in it. Theres manual control for everything but I just wish there was autofocus with a larger aperture. Other than that it is at present the best to buy at the midrange DSLR(like) market :)

What's great about it: Tons of features. Compact, Picture quality is best I've seen.
What's not so great: Energy hungry. Good idea to carry a back up for a long days work....
Let me start by saying this is my first DSLR camera. Originaly had a point & shoot... was dissapointed in the picture quality during trip to Europe. Decided to upgrade to a DSLR once back in the states.
Original choice was betwen Cannon T3i or Nikon D3100... stumbled onto the Sony A65 during my research. After two months of reading reviews and store visits, decided to go with Sony.
I've only had this camera for 2 days and I can hardly put it down. I'm still sampling through all the different features and camera modes... but so far I'm impress with what I've experience.
Picture quality is best I've seen. Flash works great (wish I had it in Europe), switching to movie mode is a breeze. Camera is light and compact. Menu interface is quick to pickup.

What's great about it: Everything! The sharpness, the amazing features, and the price!
What's not so great: No multiple exposure feature. Short battery life and no battery grip available for it.
You may not normally think of a Sony when you want a professional camera..but they’re incredible. I had a Sony 200a awhile back then my husband bought a Canon 7D for Christmas last year. I’ve wanted a back up camera for awhile and I was going to get a Nikon D7000. I liked all of the features the Nikon had but not the price. When I saw this Sony 65A ..I was thrilled. It has all of the same features I wanted that was on the Nikon D7000 plus more. The only thing it doesn’t have is multiple exposure. It cost less and has 24.3 megapixel..Nikon has 16 and my Canon 18. Since I already had Sony lenses & flash from my previous Sony this was a no brainer!
I had a wedding and newborn photos to take this past weekend and these were the best photo quality I’ve seen! It can’t even touch my Canon 7D..and that’s sad! That’s a big deal for me because I’ve always been a die hard Canon fan. I actually put my canon down and shot solely with the Sony. I was so thankful that I bought it when I did.
It works so well with the external flash. I didn’t have to keep pointing the flash in different directions to take amazing night shots. I can never seem to get my canon to work as well with its’ external flash. This camera also has an amazing low light function where it takes several pictures then layers one on top of another to get a clear, light, & no grain picture at night.
Honestly this camera represents more of the way I see the picture in my mind. I’ll see something in my mind and take the picture ..the canon just doesn’t always give me what I want and then I have to use actions to get more of what I want. I don’t like to use a lot of photoshopping to get a great picture. I actually came home from both shoots considering selling my my Canon and buying another 65a!
The only bad thing I’ve noticed was the battery doesn’t last a long time. If you’re just taking a few photos you’re completely fine, but if you need this for a wedding etc make sure you bringing your charger so you can charge it during a down time or buy a backup. Sadly there’s no battery grip made for it yet.
I would upload pictures but I have no time to resize them! :)

I searched & read reviews after reviews for hours & hours days & nights. I finally made a decision on selecting the Sony a65 vs Sony Nex-5n, Canon Rebel T3i & Sony a77. One grand is a heavy price but i don't regret spending it at all! I had tried the Sony Nex-5n & the Canon Rebel T3i before this one. I am glad I made the decision to continue searching and comparing cameras. Although the Sony Nex-5n was one awesome big little camera i loved it! But the Sony a65 stole my heart over the Nex-5n & Canon Rebel T3i. The first day I received it & took a snap shot with it... I was in aw!! The Sony a77 for two grand was way to hefty for my pocket although, i believe it's an awesome camera as well. The Sony a65 has awesome features and takes great pics in low light & bright areas. I didn't buy it for video recording. If that was a great need for me I would have spent my one grand on a sony video recorder. What this Sony a65 has to offer in video recording is good enough for me. It records awesome! I don't have much to say other than "good luck in making your decision on a camera because I already made mine with no regrets!" Take a look at a couple of pics I am sharing. These were taken in auto mode. I have yet to learn the other features and options it has to offer.
