What's great about it: All of the books to the games
What's not so great: all of the pics are in black and white
I think that this is the best way to get the game guide books for five expansion packs and the the game guide book and an encyclopedia that shows everything from the expansion packs and the stuff packs. I like it because I learned more about pets and generations expansion packs than I knew before. I can look at the books for ambitions, late night, and world adventures to see which one I would like to purchase next, because looking through the books lets me see what the games are like, and that lets me choose at home.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: How it fools you into thinking it is not what it truly is.
What's not so great: How it destroys any trust you have for the retailer.
The title and synopsis of this item is just ridiculous. "The Sims 3 Box Set - Windows". Hmm does that sound like strategy guides to you? No I didn't think so. Now you could say well if you read the description waaaaaaaay down near the bottom it starts to talk about strategy guides. Well yes it does, but it sounds like this "BOX SET" comes with the strategy guides #SCORE!?.. right...... wrong#. This item definitely needs to be fixed. This is not some new game out on the block its The Sims, and the 3rd installment and there are TONS of expansions for them. Someone is going to read the description and see...

That is what it says as the beginning of the description. They will go "Ok the Sims I know it and *read read read* yeah this is it, Cool box set!" Misleading? I think so. And this can be easily fixed as to not pull a bait and switch on your customers.
1. Put the title as "The Sims 3 Strategy Guide Box Set - Paperback"
You could go one step further saying "game not included" but just this title should fix ALLOT of problems.

2. Start the description with what they have near the bottom of the description

3. Now this is kinda small but take off the damned ESRB #Entertainment Software Rating Board # rating from this. This just adds to people thinking that this has the games in it.
4. I said this near the top of my review but I thought about it more and it does need it. #DOES NOT INCLUDE GAMES#
Whew. There, problem solved. Customers not tricked. People not raging against your company.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Not One Thing!
What's not so great: Myself and alot others got Ripped Off !!!!!!! SO who is gonna fix that??
I myself pre-ordered this item as well and was under the impression I was getting a great deal on the Sims 3 and its expantion packs, I never saw mentioned any books/guids in the initial order form online. I waited untill a week after the orignal release date before checking on the status of the order, and checked every day thereafter for any information on when my item was going to be shipped and got no answers anywhere untill two weeks after it was due to be released and was told the release was put off a little more than 2 weeks, then THAT day comes and goes and here we go again, more waiting and searching to come up empty handed AGAIN!
Then it was said they did not know when it would be released.
I fonally got my item a MONTH after it was due, I was happy it finally came and was headed to my computer to start the install process only to find out, I didnt have any games, I had books and no games.
I can not tell you how that made me feel, well yes I can. Ripped off, Cheated, Dissapointed, Angry beyond belief, What I want to know now is how Best Buy is gonna fix this, because this is beyond not fair. And one more thing, when I tried to call coustomer care, all of a sudden they were loosing signal on the call and could not here me.

What's great about it: NOTHING
First things first I pre-ordered this item, and the date of release was postponed many times. I've been waiting for it to arrive for well over a month. It just arrived today.
Secondly, The description is very misleading. The way it is described made me think I was getting The Sims 3 game and Expansion Packs, with guides. This is just Guides for the games. If I'd have known that I wouldn't have wasted my money and time. I'm very disappointed with this product. Thanks "Best Buy"!
