What's great about it: Its done, its safe and its insured for a year!
What's not so great: Paying for it - mais c'est la vie!
First, I think this product isn't reviewed because you have to sign up, and thats annoying.
Secondly, I am so happy I went with Bestbuy to install a large plasma that I bought from Target on a Black Friday sale. I have been renovating my home for a year, and we were finally ready to install the TV, but we have no idea what was behind the fireplace wall (and we'd already had plenty of bad surprises) so we called in Bestbuy.
I bought the mount they suggested, and it was a very quick process from there.
If for some reason they couldnt mount it to the wall, then I would get my money back. That is fantastic. Then when they got to my house and used the stud finder, they found 3 studs, one on each end and one in the middle, which is different, usually there are two in the middle, but the workers called their boss and confirmed the single stud would hold my TV.
Its nice to know not everyone is consumed by their pride and can ask for help when needed!
Once that was done, it was about an hour and my TV was in, wires hidden, and yes I had to buy 150dollars of equipment from them (2 casings and 1 HD cable) but atlaeast I know I'm getting the product I need for my TV, so well worth it in the end. They even have it set up for a future blue ray player and my Wii.
Over all I was very pleased and have loved watching my new tv ever since!

What's great about it: Nothing
Amazing that when they sell you the service you have to schedule two appointments. One to get the TV and a second to get the installation... you can get them together but they want another $100. AMAZING... so when my 3 weeks of waiting for them to come to install they where 2 hrs late before I told them i couldn't wait around any longer and would reschedule. Now its another 2 weeks to get anyone to come out again. Canceled the install and will just do it myself, when I canceled..they really didn't care.

What's great about it: Nothing
I hired the geek squad to mount my 46" Samsung to my wall. They failed to show up on the date scheduled, was never given a reason why or an apology for failure to show up. Their central dispatch could only call the agent after he was late for his appointment. Keep in mind they have a 4 hour window. So my entire Saturday was wasted waiting on the technician to show. After calling my at 4pm (waited on hold for an hour and a half), I finally got a representative on the phone. They tried to call the technician and his manager to see what happened. They could never reach him and basically told me to contact the local store. I went and talked to the manager on duty about this. I basically told him I would like an apology and wanted a price reduction on the service. He offered me $25 off which is insulting to me. This guy missed a 4 hour appointment window on a Saturday and my time isn't worth more than mininimum wage on a Saturday? I called another company. They came to my house offered an estimate. It is cheaper than best buy so I cancelled with Best Buy. I then found best buys mount (rockfish) online for $160 cheaper. I will never buy electroince for best buy again.

What's great about it: Convenience, Quality of Work
What's not so great: Expectations may not be clearly set
The Geek Squad TV wall mounting service is just that, wall mounting of your television. The $250 is only for them to attach the television to your wall. This may or may not be clear to you depending on how carefully you read the service description, how many questions you ask beforehand and how familiar you are with television mountings. It does not include among other things, brackets, cables, running cables in the wall or moving electrical outlets. If you don't understand this going in, you will probably be disappointed with the service. If you do understand this, ask the right questions beforehand and make sure you have the necessary equipment, you are more likely to be pleased with this service. If you don’t do these things, the additional charges are likely to add up quickly, although they can easily be avoided or minimized with proper planning.
That being said, I purchased this service and I was pleased with it. I needed my 52 inch television mounted quickly and properly and the Geek Squad was able to do this. I already had the necessary cables of the proper length from a former house. I did elect to purchase a part from them which avoided me from having to move my electrical outlet. The extra $100 for the part and an additional $50 for them to install seemed reasonable to me as opposed to having to hire and electrician or messing with it myself. I did not know this part was available before they showed up. If I did, I could have easily purchased it myself and installed it to save $50. They did not attempt to charge me for anything else so my total bill was approximately $400.
I needed my mounting done quickly and they were able to schedule the job in two days, did it on a Sunday and took the guys less than two hours to complete. They showed up on time, they were very professional, clearly explained to me what they were doing and did a great job of getting the television positioned and mounted correctly. I can’t speak for all of their technicians, but the two guys who came to my house knew what they were doing and did it well.
Some might say the price is a little high, but to me it was worth it for the convenience factor. After watching them and investing in a high quality stud finder, I was able to mount a second, slightly smaller television with a little bit of assistance from my wife. It is really not that hard if you read the instructions, are patient, have the proper tools/equipment and have the time to do it. If that is not you, than I would recommend Geek Squad. Just know what you are buying and ask a lot of questions beforehand to avoid any unnecessary surprises on the day of install. If you properly manage your expectations, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

What's not so great: Deceitful
I just purchased a Sharp Aquos to mount on my wall with this "holiday bundle mounting package." It included free mount, Geek Squad installation of the mount, TV, and 5 components, and concealed wires. Before I left the store, I explicitly asked the sales rep, "What could I be missing that they may tack on as an "additional service?" "Not a thing, it includes everything you're going to need. In fact, they'll even recycle your TV for you so you don't have to lift it." "Nice!" I thought....
FFWD to today, the "Geek Squad" showed up, and from the get go told me what they wouldn't do unless I paid for it... Charge #1) Pick up my existing TV. Charge #2) Disconnect my existing TV ($50). Charge #3) "In Wall" ready cables ($69). Charge #4) In-wall power installation ($49). Charge #5) In wall power cable ($49). Charge #6) Home Theatre reconnect ($99). Charge #7) In wall cable power ($99). Oh and of course I need a 2nd HDMI cable that the sales rep assured me I didn't ($69). Needless to say, I don't have a TV installed right now.
Thanks Best Buy! Merry Christmas to you too!!
