Malfunctioning electronic unit within six months

We were delighted at first with our roomy, practical new Frigidaire side-by-side, and the silvermist color is great with sticky-fingered children. But 6 months after arrival, a computer chip glitch caused the temperature control system to fail. Although the fridge continued to "run" it quickly lost all ability to cool. The repairs were covered under warranty, but because of a back-ordered part #the repairmen admitted he'd seen a number of recently purchased Frigidaires with the same issue# it took two weeks to be repaired. A few days before the repairman arrived, we lost power on our street. When it went back on after an hour, the fridge "awoke" and began to cool again.
Moral of the story: if your fridge has electronic problems, unplug it and wait for it to reset #just like a computer#---it may recover. But we were disappointed in the slowness with which our problem was addressed. Hopefully newer models do not have this malfunctioning part.

What's great about it: Everything, Besides the ice maker being a little loud, no other complaints. Buy it, you won't be sorry.
What's not so great: Nothing, good deal.
Iv'e had this fridge for about 2 months now. I love it. For the price I paid, I couldn't have asked for more. I have to give a "Thumbs Up" to Best Buy for this one. I had a problem with my local store not answering their phone and I lost the same fridge that was in the store. I called the complaint number for Best Buy. After taking my complaint, the person called the on-line sale associate. Long story short, I bought the fridge on-line. They delivered it, set it up and moved my old fridge out to my garage. I cannot say enough about all the Best Buy employees who helped me with this purchase. They where outstanding.
The fridge has worked out great. It has so much room, it looks empty. The ice and water in the door is a hoot. The only problem I have found it that the fridge makes some weird noises. My cat is scared to death of it because of these noises. It seems to be from the ice maker (filling with water and dumping the ice). I can live with these minor noises, I don't know if my cat will make it, (LOL). I highly recommend this fridge.
