What's great about it: Easy to install
What's not so great: Drops connection often
This modem by motorola for ATT only seems like a remake of the 2210 model. It does not get hot, but since I installed this I have had nothing but problems dropping my connection, just like the 2210. After three weeks and many reboots I returned it for a netgear DM111PSP. The netgear installed just as easy and does not drop connect. Motorola this was your last chance.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: really nothing other than compact size
What's not so great: connection
I purchased this modem the same time I purchased my linksys dual band router to replace my old 2wire gateway. Since I installed this I have had nothing but problems dropping my connection. I will return this modem and get a better one.

What's great about it: set up ws easy
What's not so great: have to re-start modom weekly.
Have ATT internet and phone service.This product states it was made for use with the service. so, I thought I was good to go!! It doesn't even work like the U-Verse service I had with ATT at my old address. First off... my phone jack was on the otherside of the room away from my computer. So, i needed 10 to 15' more to connect to modem. A 10' data cord comes with the unit but needed more. COULDN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE ! ! ! I first used a 25' regular flat phone line, that line just doesn't work for streaming video. It now sits in the middle of the floor # using the cable it came with# with a small stool over it. The unit runs pretty hot all the time #it's on 24/7#. At least once a week I have to re boot the unit. I must have spent 5-6 hours talking with ATT tech support #based in INDIA# because of the no streaming issue. Not a good product.

This modem is a good budget. The modem is faster at startup than my last modem. A few times per week the internet connection just drops/fails. I have replaced parts and had service calls and the modem just can not run for long periods of time over 1.5 - 2 hours.

Good budget modem receives fast DSL signal well and passes it on to my much better router. At least once a week, the internet connection just fails, which requires me to power off/on the modem.
