What's great about it: Fair price, lightweight and comfortable.
What's not so great: doesn't dial out to break the dial tone if the inline volume is too high.
I've had this headset for a little over a month now and except for one quirk it does very good. The only problem I have using it with my portable phone is if the volume setting on the cord is mid range to high the phone doesn't dial out and I'll get a dial tone after pushing the number pad. If you keep pushing the dial number until you hear the dial tone drop, it will then proceed to dial out. I found that setting the volume level to low when dialing out so no interference is picked up and then turning the volume up as needed to hear works best for me. Other phones may not have this problem and it's no big deal to tone down the volume while dialing and then turning it up as the party I call is ringing.

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: doesn't fit my cell phone too!
My daughter and myself both purchased this item and really appreciated the quality and how very comfortable it is. The head band doesn't squeeze tight on your head, love the volume and hearing sound adjustments and the mute on/off feature that are on the cord. We are both ordering another one to have a backup on hand since it is so very hard to get a good headset at a decent price anymore.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I tried a more expensive headset from Phillips and it was terrible. I switched to this headset after reading some positive reviews and it's been great. If you are looking for an inexpensive headset that works, this does the job. People on the other can never tell your on a headset so its's all good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This headset is great. Very comfortable for long calls (I've been on 3+ hour calls so far). I can hear everyone very well, and haven't had any complaints about people hearing me. I would absolutely recommend!

What's great about it: Comfortable, great sound, volume control, mute switch
I've only used this headset a few times, but so far the sound quality has been great and the features have worked well.
I had to attend a two-hour con call from home using this headset and found that even for a long call it's comfortable to wear. I also loved the built-in volume control and the mute switch. At first I wished that the mic had a bendable handle, but I found that the placement worked fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Good sound; mute switch; mic & earpiece volume control; comfy against the ear; mic closer to mouth than on most headsets
What's not so great: Wish it had an over-the-ear option
Whenever I use this headset during phone calls, folks can hear me on the other end of the line, loud and clear, with no distortion or "distance." I don't have to speak up or shout.
The mic extends farther from the ear (closer to the mouth) than other headsets I've tried, but it doesn't sit right in front of my mouth or nose--so there's less chance of people hearing me breathe on the phone.
The headset has earpiece and mic volume control. It also has a mute switch. The mic swivels to accommodate right- or left-eared users. The headband is adjustable and doesn't feel too tight or loose on my head. The earpiece is comfortably padded and I have no problem hearing people through it.
I wish this headset had an over-the-ear option. (I know there's another Plantronics model that does, but the mic on that one looks like it doesn't extend as far from the ear as this one.) That's my only complaint about this headset.
I bought this headset to replace a Panasonic over-the-ear model that no one could hear me through. This Plantronics model is the one I should've bought in the first place.

What's great about it: My last one lasted over 6 years
What's not so great: Can't think of a thing
I bought my last Plantronics headset over 6 years ago. A couple of months ago, I was starting to get worried that it was getting a little bit old, so I bought another "just in case". Sure enough, a week ago, my old headset finally bit the dust. I can't complain though, because after 6 years of using it probably 5-6 hours a day for work, I am sure I got my moneys' worth out of it.
It's nice that you can flip the boom microphone over and alternate the headset between your left and right ears. My job requires a lot of hours on the phone, and this feature is very much appreciated.
It is not cordless, but then again, it doesn't take any batteries either. I considered a cordless headset, but didn't want to have another device dependent upon batteries.
After years & years of wrapping up the cord to put it away at the end of every day, the cord never shorted, and the headset never crackled or lost any voice quality. It just simply didn't work anymore one day. RIP.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought and discarded several cheap headsets that people could barely hear me when I used them. This one was recommended by a friend and it has mad conference calls much more pleasant.

What's great about it: The volume control for both the microphone and speaker...something that other headsets don't do as well
What's not so great: The cable is too fragile -- the insulation on it cracks easily. Mine is covered by little bandaids of electrical tape.
Have been using this product heavily for the past 2 years or more and -- as I've stated in the "what's not so great" -- it looks like a well beaten up soldier now with rings of black electrical tape to cover cracks in the plastic covering the cable. Just purchased a replacement headset (not this model) that I'd hoped would be better but it's not. No control for mic volume is the key reason why I'm now using the Plantronics again. So... I guess either I protect my existing Plantronics cable with duct tape or I buy this model again (and treat it nicer).

What's great about it: It sorta works
What's not so great: When using this headset on calls, it created echo's for everyone I was talking to.
I had this headset for a few days and today it is going back to the store. It was hard to hear other people, it would echo for both me and the people I was talking to. I use headsets almost exclusively when I'm on a phone and this by far was one of the my least favorite. It is on its way back to the store as I type. The one feature I thought was really stupid was that the boom mic only adjusts up and down, there is no way to adjust how far/close it is away from your face. The ear pad was nice though
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Works great when needing both hands outside. Love sitting on the deck while sunbathing and still being able to talk
What's not so great: Not as good of range as I was hoping for....but still a great product
If you are a gardener like me, it comes in handy when doing daily chores outside but able to speak with someone on the phone at the same time. Not to expensive for the product.

What's great about it: decent sound & mic
What's not so great: clip now integrated on mute & volume controls = clip is worthless and the cord will swing around whenever you stand up.
The clip rapidly releases from whatever it is supposed to be holding onto, making it worthless as the cord swings around whenever I stand up.
Plantronics will save themselves 2 cents in production costs per unit and have lost me as a customer. Was that worth it Plantronics?
Moreover, the wiring feels like a thinner gauge than my previous Plantronics headset. I'll be surprised if the unit lasts the year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Finally found a headset that will work with my phone.
What's not so great: So far None.
I have a AT&T Phone and everytime i use a headset to attend conference calls and always get complaints that my voice was v.weak, people ask me to speak up etc etc. I tried several headset and none was working up to the mark. Finally i saw the review for this one and decided to give it a try and when i used it for the first time, there was absolutely no complaints!!! then when i asked for a feedback on the quality of my voice, i was told it was as good as they talk to me in person!!!
So finally i found a headset that works with my AT&T phone. very comfortable, no complaints so far. Has mute button, mic volume and speaker volume control buttons are easily accessible.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The sound on this headset is good but the durability is terrible. I have gone through (2) of these in a year. At $32 a pop they are not cheap. I am not abusive to this headset yet on one the microphone stopped working and the other one nothing happened when plugged in.
I don't recommend

What's great about it: Good microphone quality
What's not so great: I wish the controls were closer to the headset
I bought the M214C to replace my previous handset (Panasonic KX-TCA93). People regularly complained that they couldn't hear me with the Panasonic...that no longer happens since I switched to the Plantronics. No problems and works as expected!

What's great about it: can be used in extremely noisy environments
What's not so great: picks up breathing and wind noise
GOOD: i am able to maintain normal voice tones under the noisiest conditions (as long as i am indoors...to include while riding mass transit systems). the earphone is much more forgiving and flexible in postioning compared to earbuds. the earphone also helps seal out ambient noise. the headset is comfortable enough to be worn all day. wire/cord lengths and inline switch location are well-designed.
BAD: the noise cancelling technology is worthless outdoors. wind makes it virtually impossible for me to be understood...and too much of my breathing is picked up, especially when using the microphone switch in the upper position.
