What's great about it: Great idea.
What's not so great: Focus broke. Watching Dad's disappointment over getting a broken present.
Don't buy this camera. I got it for my Dad for Christmas. The focus broke after five minutes of use. Dad didn't even get to try out the camera. I thought it would be a great gift as Dad is an avid bird watcher. Turns out I was wrong.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
