What's great about it: Lots of options.
What's not so great: Not very serious until towards the end.
This game is fun. Now, it can be a bit confusing to play if you don't have the game guide because you can skip ahead to doing certain parts of the main storyline without even knowing it and then miss something you need. But it a basic playthrough. I love the characters and the music although the chocobo death metal is very unfitting at certain parts :P. This game is much less ridiculous than the first for the fact that you don't need to spend millions of gil on purchasing components for weapons and accessories. The primer is great for those who don't want to play the first game but want to try out this one; it provides an overall review of the storyline of the first game. My only disappointment was that the signature CGI cutscenes are seen only about 2-3 times throughout the game, but that's personal opinion :) I would recommend people to play a demo first though because people would definitely find faults where I had not.

What's great about it: Gameplay, soundtrack, graphics.
What's not so great: Story is weaker than 13, but still enjoyable.
I loved Final Fantasy 13 so when I heard about this game, I got excited. They improved many things in this game from the last one. The biggest improvement they made was making it less linear from 13. They have a monster system where you can get some of the enemies you fight to join your team, which gives it almost a pokemon game like feel, where you want to go out and get all of the monsters.
With all the improvements, the only thing I can be picky about is the storyline. I still enjoyed it, but compared to 13, it has a weaker storyline. Overall, I love this game, its improved gameplay, great soundtrack, and less linear gameplay make it very enjoyable to play.

What's great about it: graphics, gameplay, story
Some of if not the best graphics ever! Main storyline is a little short, but you're not even half done with the game once you "beat" it. Time-tripping storyline is interesting and entertaining throughout. Being able to collect monsters, level them, and use them in battle is a cool new feature. Other than one of your team members is a monster battle is very similar to FF XIII which is pretty sweet although I still prefer the old school turn-based to ATB gauge. Overall quite possibly the best game since FF X (still my fav). Collector's edition has very cool packaging which is worth it looking cool sitting on my bookshelf, but is not for everyone. May not be worth the extra price to you...the "art book" isn't very impressive and although the soundtrack works well within the game I'll probably never listen to the CDs.

This game is will be instantly familiar and intriguing to people who played FFXIII, theres an element of nostalgia, and desire to further the story of 13. The game is slow to explain where its going, but keeps you interested, new mini games, and interesting characters keep your interest peaked.

What's not so great: Still a little simplistic
I'm not going to waste time telling you what's been fixed as that's everywhere.
All you need to know is that if you powered through FF13 you should play this game as it does add a lot more depth and complexity to the simplistic game play of it's predecessor.

I love this game it's amazing!!!! The sound and picture is exllent and the new controls are better than the percious game. It 's good for people who have not play the game leading up to this one it actually tells you what happen in final fantasy XIII

O.K I just ordered this through best buy as i think they totally have the best Bonus Material...A hardcover novella of the FF13 story as well as the 4 disc OST Hardcover art book all in a nice collectors art box. i usually only buy Japanese games especially the final fantasies but i couldn't pass this offer up.
