DON'T BOTHER BUYING THIS CABINET

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Everything
I purchased this cabinet to match one we already had, but had reached it's storage capacity. The cabinet we received does not begin to compare with the one we already had. This cabinet is a piece of junk. First of all, it wouldn't go together right and we had to glue it together. Secondly, it is flimsy and the shelves are shorter and thinner than the original that BB used to sell. The back is supposed to be covered in wood grain paper facing toward the front, but only part of the back was covered, the rest of it is nothing more than ugly cardboard, which thankfully is mostly covered by the DVD's. It doesn't sit up straight because it is so flimsy and the color is more of a yellow than maple color and does not match the original cabinet at all.
One more thing that I am disgusted about is that they do not have these cabinets in the stores so that one can see what they are buying and so you are basically ordering something blind. AFTER GETTING THE CABINET AND SEEING THE POOR QUALITY,I WANTED TO RETURN IT, HOWEVER BEST BUY CHARGES YOU A 25% RESTOCKING FEE, SO KEEP THIS IN MIND BEFORE YOU BUY THIS CABINET.
One more thing that I am disgusted about is that they do not have these cabinets in the stores so that one can see what they are buying and so you are basically ordering something blind. I am very disatisfied with this purchase and the fact that they charge a fee to return something that was defective and that I didn't get to see before I bought it. If you are looking for a quality piece of furniture, keep looking.

What's great about it: Makes an attractive display case with a small footprint.
What's not so great: Does not visually match the original. Thickness of shelves noticable
As a storage unit for DVD and momentos, however when compared to the same model purchased two years ago, the individual shelves are 3/16 of an inch thinner, and 1 inch narrower, so placed side-by-side, they do not match and some of the DVD cases extend out past the edge of the shelf. You don't notice this until the unit is fully assembled and placed next to the original

What's great about it: Sturdy, easy to assemble, looks nice, holds plenty, easily accomodates any sort of media
What's not so great: The new adjustable shelf depth
I've purchased these units previously and I needed another to accomodate the ever-expanding collection. This model differs from their prior model in that the adjustable shelves are a smaller depth, which means your DVD's or CD's stick out about a good inch or so. However, the supporting beams are the same depth as the prior models, so it's not as though this looks incredibly awkward. All this really means that if you go to pick out a CD or DVD from the collection (and they're a little too snug on the shelf), it sometimes has a tendency to tip the whole shelf forward. I'm not really sure why Atlantic chose to modify the shelf depth, but I'm assuming that it's because it uses less wood which costs them less to manufacture. Otherwise, this is a solid unit and nicely matches my other ones. The unit is sturdy and, for the price, it's a lot better than some of the other junk out there. I'd recommend this piece, just be aware of the new adjustable shelf depth.

What's great about it: Looks great and holds LOTS of stuff!
What's not so great: Some space is wasted... :(
Product came packaged very well, no damage. Construction was very straight-forward, I had no issues at all. The shelf looks great and is of a good quality material. Comes with plenty of shelves and pins for limitless combinations.
Only one issue I had with it and that is due to it's size. Not that it is too big but if you want to do DVD only as I did, the shelf placements (pre-drilled holes) won't let you maximize for all DVD use. One shelf set will end up either way too much space for the DVD's or the next size is so small, you can't even place CD's bookshelf style on it. I had to use that row for DVD's in jewel cases laid flat as there is not enough room to stand them. Would have been nice to have engineered this so that you could use the total space for bookshelfed DVDs.
I would recommend this to a friend!
