What's great about it: A powerful computer that is easy to use
This is the way computers should be. One operating system with all my Documents and spreadsheets on it that I can access from any computer anywhere and print to one printer with the cloud print. Everything is web based which makes it faster and the sandbox feature is the safest way to be on the web. I never have to deal with obsolete software or obsolete operating systems again. Never have to scan or update. The days of having computers with different operating systems and separate software are over. The HDMI is great for live streaming on HDTV. 3G is great for places with no WIFI, and its free with Verizon for 2 years. Works well with SD cards and USB drives to transfer files in and out of Google docs.
This product is... A touch pad that works great, Easy to set up and is lightning fast, A nice compact size

What's great about it: Small, portable, fast
What's not so great: Flash games are slow
I'm enjoying myChromebook so far! Storing files and printing from the cloud has worked well so far. It also does a decent job streaming video and the hdmi output to my LCD TV looks great. My only complaint is that Adobe Flash games, Farmville in particular, are horribly slow. Even at low quality settings in the game, it takes forever to load and the Flash plugin frequently stops responding, prompting a "do you want to kill this plugin" message.

What's great about it: Very fast boot
I manage IT for my company. I purchased the AC700 wifi only unit to test for our company. My plan was to get used to it and then give it to others to use. It has been almost a year, and I do not want to give it up.
3G would be nice, but I have found there is very few places I need to use this device that there is not wifi service available.
Boot time is so fast that I do not need to worry about powering it up ahead of time for meetings, pop it open, login and I am taking notes within seconds.
Battery life is fantastic, I seldom have to plug it in during the day.
The situations where this will work great for us:
* Buyer or manager who goes on a trip. They do not need a dedicated laptop for the 2 times a year they need connectivity on the road. Login with their Google Apps account and they have all their documents, mail, browser settings, and Chrome Apps in seconds. If it is the first time they have used one, it will only take a few minutes of instructions.
* Retail manager who needs quick access to email during the day or needs to get to the web from the sales floor.
* Scan office and sales clerks can use the browser to lookup pricing and place orders on web interface.
* IT support (like myself). Very fast access for notes or reference. We use LogMeIn for remote access and this works fine for that. My next one will be 3G so allowing me to support users from anywhere.
Where will it not work for us:
* Users that must use Word or Excel or need access to other applications that are not browser based. There are remote applications that run on terminal services, or Citrix that would allow this access but that is not a direction we want to go.
This product is... A touch pad that works great, Perfect for Business, Easy to set up and is lightning fast, A nice compact size

What's great about it: Speed, ease of use, versatility
What's not so great: No Cap Locks key.... Really?! Who's stupid idea was that??!
The first reviewer was partly correct, no internet, LIMITED usability (not completely useless as he stated). While I'm a total Google user (including G+ in lieu of Facebook) this probably gives me a leg up in understanding the real utility of the Chromebook.
I'll stop short of recommending this for a business person as most companies have restricted access to their networks via personal devices that do not have verifiable (conventional) OS or virus checkers. Since you have/need neither on a Chromebook, the nets won't let you in..
I use Google docs extensively so if I loose connectivity, I can only use the read-only docs to review items. Of course Google is working on an offline version so that will probably come shortly.
My mail has an offline feature, many of the games have offline modes so it's as close to getting a tablet with the add-on keyboard at about half the price.
Some short tech facts:
- Boot and waking speed is exactly as good as a tablet.
- Setup took all of under 2 min (yes, I timed it) and when it was complete, all my Google info and settings were synced to my Chromebook.
- Wifi speed is better than any non-ultrabook laptop. My home network is 15 mbps broadband, Cisco dual band N-class router. If you use slower ISP or router, you get slower browsing. Mine screams, even at Panera's.
- Display (Acer) is true HD and that's why I picked it.
- Plays SD cards out of my HD camera and smart phone. Both mini and micro (of course micro requires you to use your micro adapter that came with the card).
- Battery life for the first charge extended through approx 6 to 7 hours doing surfing, music, and some minor home movie stuff. Able to use this a few hours each evening, all day at work, and part of a second day before getting the little "red batter" icon. Don't know how long it takes to put a full charge on it yet (will try to update).
I favored the Wifi model over the 3G merely because of price plus I'm too cheap to spring for 3G service ;-).
This is NOT a laptop and therefore, you might be disappointed if you are expecting to do a lot of power stuff since you can't load applications.
I just like the idea of never waiting to install patches, upgrading the OS, virus checking, etc. for a unit that I'm going to sit in front of the TV and do my nightly catching up on mail, news, and events.
While I privately think this is perfect for students and some non-power user business folks with the extensive Cloud resources, I'll yield to their opinion on that.
Hope this helps.

What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: everything
I tried to be open minded about the OS & the laptop, to find out I have purchased nothing but a browser.
The functionality and what you can do is so limited, that it didn't take me more than 24 hours to realize that I have thrown away my money and returned the product.
This is not a tool that can be used for any type of real work where there is no internet connection.
