What's great about it: Very easy to use and does the job very well.
This vacuum is our second Dyson and I love how versitile the machine is and how great the suction and filter system is. All the features from changing the attachments to cleaning the filters is easy and understandable. I love Dyson Vacuums.

What's great about it: It picks up EVERYTHING. It can also get into smaller spaces.
What's not so great: The price is high but the warranty and its performance are well worth it.
Excellent vacuum! It's a smart buy. Especially, if you're tired of vacuums breaking down and leaving dirt. Word of advice for the first time you use any dyson vacuum..you may not want anyone else around because its unbelievable how much other vacuums leave behind.

What's great about it: color
What's not so great: the suction was not what I would expect for the cost. I thought the head was small and was average overall.
For the cost, I had expected this canister to have better suction and not be so average. The funny thing about this is when I went to return it, there was another customer returning another Dyson product, and I asked y the return, I quote "for the cost, I expected for. It was average at best". Sounded so familiar.

What's not so great: don't really like emptying it every time, but not a big deal
This is more than I would usually spend on a vacumm, however, it was well worth it. Love the performance and would recommend to anyone that hates cleaning like me.

We replaced our Dyson Animal and wanted a canister vac. Our first floor is all hardwood thru-out. Does a great job on the floors. Very easy to do stairs. With the canister on the floor at the bottom I can reach up to the last 2 stairs. Much easier to use than an upright for stairs. Does a great job on scatter rugs we have. Compared a lot of other vacs and the other Dyson canisters and this was the best bang for the buck.

What's great about it: Quiet enough to use and still hear someone talk.
We bought this to replace our old upright Bissell. It was 2 years old and needed to be replaced. When I brought this home it was easy to assemble use. The first time I used it I vacuumed the carpet with the old vacuum and then with the new one just to see what my old one was missing. Needless to say it was defiantly a good thing we bought a new one. The Dyson is also very quiet. My 1 year old child used to cry the whole time I was vacuuming. It's not easy holding a 20lb child and trying to vacuum. The new one is so quiet that he sits next to it while I'm vacuuming.

What's great about it: Compact
I was really excited about this vacuum. However, I vacuumed half of my cat's favorite rug with the Dyson (on MAX), the other half with my handheld Dirt Devil. The Dirt Devil did much better at 1/6 the cost, so I plan on taking it back. Also, you cannot turn off the motorized brush for hardwoods.

What's not so great: The DC35 runs out of juice quick when using the MAX button.
I have The DC35, DC25, and DC39 Vacuums and an AM03 Air Multiplier and I love evry product. They ALL work and look GREAT getting it done!!!

What's not so great: Attachments cheap,and how long will some of this thin plastic last!
Commercials and word of mouth are great persuaders. We bought it on our carpet installers reconmendation. It is light weight easy to manuever,and will suck soil out of the thickest carpet. My concern is the cheap plastic and the flimsy attachments. Other than that this is a very good vac.

What's great about it: love that it is lightweight, easy to maneuver, picks up lots of dirt, really easy to clean.
What's not so great: nothing so far (have only used it 5-6 times)
Had an old Miele vacuum, which I loved, but was on it's last legs. Couldn't afford another. This was in the right price range and is doing the job beautifully. We have mostly hardwwood/stone floors with a few area rugs and a dog (though non-shedding). I empty quite a bit out of the cannister, so it's picking up lots of stuff from the floors that my other vacuum must have been missing.
