Excellent Vacuum!

What's great about it: Suction, Durability, Performance
What's not so great: Price
"I had a Hoover Vacuum purchased for $180 that lasted 8 years. When it died, I went and bought the $130 Bissell. Within 6 weeks (3 uses) my $130 Bissell broke. It was a little more then the belt and required a $25 repair. Two weeks later, the Bissell broke again and was replaced by the manufacturer. 2 months later the replacement broke. Then I just settled with the substandard quality for 6 months until it started acting up again. Finally, I had enough and bought the highly recommended Dyson. No regrets! I use it every week and I can't believe how much dirt it sucks up! It's lightweight to carry up and down. It's durable. It performs just as good now at 8 months then the first day I got it out of the box. Now, I recommend it to everyone."

"Highly recommend getting one of the Dyson line. They come bag-less and can glide from anytime type of carpet and height. The movement is very fluid and also has amazing suction to get all of that grit and grim out of the carpet. Definitely get one!!!!"

What's great about it: easy to push/does a good job
What's not so great: bulky-doesn't fit under beds/cabinets
"It took a lot to get me to buy such an expensive vacuum cleaner. However we have two labbies and a cat and a heck of a lot of those fantastic fur tumbleweeds that pet owners are so fond of. The DC07 does a good job on the hardwood removing dust that was not visible (until it went into the canister) and a it also does a good job on the carpet where that fur tends to go into the fibers and stick.It is relatively quiet and easy to push. The hose and attachments are well thought out designs. Like the way that they go right into the unit. Great idea. Now the con...it just can't get under things, unless you buy the attachment...I think for the price you pay, Dyson should include it!
I did recently purchase the car cleaning kit, honestly i haven't used it in my car yet,but I can tell you that it does a great job on those awful textured ceilings that are next to impossible to get clean!"

"Whent in and bought this about a week ago and it is amazing! I had just cleaned my carpets with my Bissell wet vac and desided I would go over it with my new Dyson before I moved everything back into the room and I was amazed (and disgusted) with everything that it picked up even after I had used my Bissell wet vac! The wand is nice and I like how everything just 'clicks' into place. I vacuum inside and out with this and love it so far."

"I just got this vacuum and I was disgusted at what was in the canister. My god I couldn't believe that our bissel momentum missed. I will say when you first use it it will take a little time to get use to layout of the vacuum. It's expensive but compare that with vacuum that you use and then break it adds up. Get this vacuum if you don't you will regret it."

What's great about it: constant suction power.
What's not so great: somewhat bulky, accessories not always user friendly
"Overall this a great product. A little expensive, but your paying for quality. I have a pet that sheds and drags in dirt and leaves. This vaccum always does the trick. Compare what this vaccum sucks-up in comparison to other vaccum cleaners and you'll be amazed. Accessories are a little clunky at times."

What's great about it: not bad looking for a vacuum, love that it's bagless and easy to empty

"I bought my vacuum a few years ago and just decided to review it because I keep seeing Dyson commercials and thinking how believable Mr Dyson comes across. He's a great salesman. Unfortunately, the product does not live up to the hype. My vacuum performs about like every vacuum I've ever had....mediocrely....but at 2-3 times the price of other vacuums I've had, I certainly expect it to live up to the sales pitch and be a stellar performer. It's average at picking up on hard surfaces and carpet. Going around the edges of the room is a waste of time, because it's not going to pick up anything to either side, and I usually have to go over an area repeatedly to get everything picked up. I'm a single mom who doesn't have a lot of money to spend on non-essentials. I splurged on this vacuum thinking of it as an investment because I expected to love it and be blown away by how great it did and how much easier it made my life by performing so well and easily, and I really do regret it. I could have saved a lot of money and bought a much cheaper machine and had the same (or possibly better) results. I thought perhaps I got a "lemon", but recently I was checking out Consumer Reports before making another household purchase and happened to flip past the vacuums.....research backs me up. Consumer Reports did NOT give glowing reports to any of the Dyson vacuums."

What's great about it: great suction, long lasting brushes, bagless, can view contents
What's not so great: hard to get under beds, etc
"I've had my Dyson for a couple of years now. This is the best vacuum I've ever had. I have 2 large breed dogs, 5 cats and lots of pet fur. I can spend a very long time vacuuming the house even though it's a small dwelling, empty the see through container (often more than once) and go back over the same areas and still get more fur and DIRT that was embedded within the carpeting. This unit has a nice long cord and an extension wand...I don't use that too much though.
The head of the vacuum is a bit bulky and does not fit under beds and such...I think that's the only drawback.
The warranty I rec'd was excellent."

"I think the Dyson is over-rated. It is so large, that on the bottom it will not fit under cabinets were crumbs lie. To fix this problem you have to buy a low reach tool for $50.00, and the suction is so strong its hard to move."

"When a $200 bissel vac we bought died after 2.5 years, I had always wanted a Dyson, so we picked one up (my wallet was crying) and tried it out. It picked up so much more dirt from the floor that had just been vacuumed the day before! I was shocked. The constant suction proves to be a benefit. It was a lot easier to push then other vacs that I have had. If I can get 5-6 years out of it, it will be well worth the cost. I am use to have vacs for 5-10 years."

"Really considered spending $400 for a vaccum. However, it was well worth the money. Having dogs, other cyclone sweepers immediately got clogged with their dirt and hair. Dyson has not clogged yet! Easy to use for basic floor cleaning. Working with attachments requires a few assembly lessons. Also, the ability to get under things is a draw back. Guess I'll have to invest in an attachment for that purpose. I have had Oriks, Hoovers, and this product actually does what it says! Go for it you won't be sorry."

"We have been using the Dyson vacuum for 3 months now. This is the best vacuum that we have used to date. We have a long haired cat and the Dyson gets it ALL! We also bought the Mini Turbine Head accessory and it is great for getting the animal hair off the furniture. I have had one of those vacuums sold door-to-door and another one made by a TV manufacturer. The Dyson works better than any other vacuum we have had."

"Everything on this vaccume is just great. It can switch from carpet to hard floor with the movement of a switch. This is the best vaccum out there and is deffinitely worth every penny. I have never experienced any problems with this at all and I have owned it for several years now."

"My floors looked clean until I used this! I vacuumed one room once with my old upright, and then once afterwards with the dyson, and the dyson picked up so much dust! with this vacuum i will never have to vacuum my floor twice again!"

What's not so great: A little hard to get under things
"I really like this vacum. I know i said it is hard to get under things but that really has been a problem for to bad but i could see that it mioght be for some. I really like the way that that hose is made into the handle. My last vacum it wrapped around the top and often fell off. This vacum is the easyest i have used as far and taking the canister on and off. THe hose is pretty long but it doens't strech as easy as I would like and does drag the vacum with it a little bit. But over all there is not other vacum I would rather have"

"I have a small home and I am able to plug the vac in a middle room and do the complete house with out having to unplug and move to another outlet. Had vacuumed a couple of days prior to using with a Hoover and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount the Hoover had missed. Try it you'll like it!!!!!!!!"
