What's great about it: Simple to operate
What's not so great: Lacks instructions for completing setup
Connection the Apple TV unit to the TV is easy. Make sure the unit is in the open so the Wi-Fi signal is not blocked. The more difficult part is setting up the iTunes library and logging into iTunes. It would be nice to have setup instructions for the entire system rather than just the Apple TV unit.

What's great about it: Easy to use & no need for cable upstairs
This is a great item to use if you really don't want a cable bill on a TV that does not get much use. I primarily use it for Netflix so my son can watch Sesame Street.

What's great about it: Best bang for your Buck for the average user
What's not so great: Slow load times on occasion for movies
I love the Radio Stations and I "mirror" a great deal with my I-phone and I-pad. Also all the movie and TV options are Great!

What's great about it: Access to pics and iTunes
What's not so great: Need to subscribe to access movies
Recently purchased Apple TV to complement my new system.
Knife device which gives m access to my pictures and iTunes.
Access to the iTunes Store as well and Netflix, though I'm not currently a subscriber.
So essentially acts as a distribution hub fo services that you have to subscribe to, which I'm somewhat hesitant to do.
For $100, not a huge cost so worth having it.

Great device that puts your display up on a HDTV easily. Helps connect music from home networks, etc, too. Only real complaint is that it doesn't want to work nicely with my desktop PC.

It is as good as or better than any of the others on the market, but with streaming from the laptop. I just wish it were backwards compatible with laptop versions prior to 2011. Welcome to Apple business model!

What's not so great: Too few apps
Compared to Roku, it has fewer apps. The best thing about it is that it can be linked to other apple products. If you have other apple products, definitely go Apple TV. If not, Roku

What's great about it: Streams anything! Connects to iTunes with ease!
What's not so great: No volume function, small remote
Was really excited to finally purchase my Apple TV! I had plenty of shows/movies that I wanted to view on my Samsung TV without using a cheap HDMI-Mini Display Port adaptor & this was the way to avoid it! As soon as I purchased/rented a movie through itunes, I could view it on my TV streaming wirelessly from my itunes (MacbookPro) to my Apple TV. Works like a charm. The remote is small, and if you download movies via torrent or online file, the volume will seem lower than purchased mastered content, but everything is manageable. Thanks again Apple, you continue to please!
