What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Poor design
This stand is poorly designed. Although it does give the user many configuration options, none of them are very stable or well constructed. Attaching the adjustable poles to the base is one screw that can easily loosen with any movement. The same is true of the top plate that holds the speaker plate, it too can easily loosen and cause the speaker to lean left or right. The materials are of good quality but the design and construction are only fair to poor.

What's great about it: Easy to assemble
What's not so great: Didn't have brackets for my speakers
Easy to assemble and ready within minutes. Like other poster mentioned, it didn't come with a bracket for my speakers so I just placed the speakers on top of the big top platform.

What's great about it: Looks and price
What's not so great: directions
Like the stands. Can't beat the price for the look and also very steady. Very well satisfied and glad I bought them. My caution is the set up. The directions are poor. I've set up speaker stands in the past so I understand the concept. Put the base on the tube, thread the speaker wire, and then follow the rest of the directions.

What's great about it: ease of assembly. looks
These stands are very easy to assemble, come with many adapters for mounting the speakers, and look great. Unfortunately there was not an adapter for my speakers so I had to use the double sided tape and now the mounting plate is loose but the speaker is stuck to it and I can't get to the screw.

What's great about it: Sturdy, nice appearance, plenty of options, simple and intuitive instuctions
What's not so great: Sanus has their own version of what 'compatible' means when it comes to what speakers will work
I like these stands. They come with a wide variety of mounting and placement options. I only had these for a few hours before returning but in that time I was pleased with them.
Unfortunately I ran into a problem...
In a question posted on the Best Buy website about speaker compatibility, Sanus posted that these stands ARE compatible with the MartinLogan MLT-2 satellite speakers. I guess our definitions of the word compatible differ. The only possible option to mount these speakers is the 5"x5" flat mount, and the MLT-2 base is not square and therefore looks ridiculous, especially with how the banana plugs come out the back of the speakers with plenty of wire sticking up and out. The MLT-2 manual recommends wall mounting or placing on a shelf but I trusted the judgment from Sanus that these would be appropriate.
As a reference, here's the link to the user question about the MLT-2's: http://reviews.bestbuy.com/answers/3545/product/4966754/sanus-28-to-42-adjustable-speaker-stands-pair-black-satin-questions-answers/questions.htm?page=2&sort=recentq&dir=asc

What's great about it: VERY Sturdy and attractive
What's not so great: Slightly pricier than i would have liked
These were a little more pricy than i wanted to pay but when i got them home i understood why. These are HEAVY and have an extremely sturdy construction. THe black powdercoating looks to be of a great quality and there are several options for the feet depending on the surface you are standing them on. They are well worth the money and under normal condition i would expect them to last a good 5-7 years.

What's great about it: spiked feet for deep carpets
What's not so great: no bushings for the speaker to settle on.
Nice and heavy, you can put different feet on the bottom,of different types of surfaces. with all the different mounts it fits my brand (Harman/kardon)

What's great about it: Price, looks
What's not so great: balance for Martin Logan Speakers
I purchased these for my rear surround speakers(Martin Logan-2). They were a little tricky to mount, the speakers are not flat in the rear. I mounted them upside down because when right side up the stand does not seem well balanced. The pole is off center and the feet are also not symmetrical. They look nice and seem strong enough, but don't recommend you put them where they may be knocked a little as there is a good chance it will fall over.

What's great about it: Price, finish.
What's not so great: Mechanical design, mounting.
The product is pretty well made, and the finish is very good. The cable routing inside the vertical is OK, but hard to do. The screw knob to adjust the height is not very strong. The biggest problem is the mounts attach to the top with a screw into the center of the tube, and they tend to wobble or lean. It is a poor design and should have a flange or something at the top to keep everything flat and square. My bookshelf size speakers are leaning already; I can probably fix it but I have to take it apart again and tweak the hardware until it looks straight once assembled.

What's great about it: Heavy and solid for price
I am very happy with these stands, they are universal and can accomodate a great number of speaker BUT I suggest you bring a speaker to Best Buy with you when you want to purshase to see if one of the fixations offered works with your speakers.
Personnaly at first I thought my speaker was too big, but there are so many possibilities that I ended up finding the right match.
I have a Denon sound system.

What's great about it: Look, ease of setup
What's not so great: The adjustment on the side doesn't work well at all
Looked great and was priced right so I bought it. Got it home and it was impossible to adjust the height so that it would stay up at the height I wanted. Kept sliding back down. Instructions were nice to look at but difficult to understand unless you have a lot of experience putting things like this together. I had to cannibalize parts from this and use them with my old speaker stands to make functional stands. The company should do a little redesign on this one.

What's great about it: The durable adjustability. Speakers do not feel like they are going to fall over or slip off the stand.
What's not so great: No problems with stand
Speakers stand have following qualities:
1. Adjustment knob screws in from the side. More durable than vertical adjusting knobs.
2. Stands are adaptable to almost any speaker less than 10 pounds.
3. Upper height extends to the top of my recliner, which places speaker at sitting heights.
4. Excellent price
5. Realatively heavy for size. Holds up to 10 pound speaker no problems.
6. Adhesive stickers with kit to anchor speakers so they don't slide off the stand.
7. Best Buy associate assisted me for about 20 minutes to find the correct speaker stands for my needs.
8. Easy to assemble

What's great about it: Sturdy, looks good, adjustable
What's not so great: Small openings for speaker wire
The speaker stands are great. The actual assembly of the stand went well. It was a little work threading my speaker wire through the stand for a good clean look. I have pretty large gauge wire and it was a little tight and difficult threading the wire through.

What's great about it: Elegant, inexpensive
What's not so great: Slight challenge to route speaker wire, but not bad
These are elegant speaker stands for the price. Pretty simple to assemble and the box certainly comes with numerous alternative brackets for mounting the speakers. Routing the speaker wire was a little tricky but manageable. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for relative ease of assembly, elegant and simple design, nothing too pricey, and a sturdy design. I give these two thumbs up.

What's great about it: Sturdy good looking speaker stands.
What's not so great: Good set of speaker stands, but a little pricey for $60.00 on sale.
Overall, these are really good speaker stands for surround sound speakers. They seem pretty sturdy, little to no plastic. The box includes several different ways to attach various manufacture speakers to the stands.
An assembly note: The instructions are pictographs, no words. They are not too bad. The hardware is not organized or grouped very well with other hardware for the same assembly. The assembly instructions don't mention (No Words) about snaking the speaker wire threw the pole. However, I found that the easiest way to get the speaker wire threw the pole is with it collapsed and before the base is screwed on. It will make it easier if you have a pair of needle nose pliers or a spring tool to get the wire out of the side hole near the top of the pole. Then once it is threw, the pole can be expanded and locked into place.

What's great about it: Adjustable, plenty of adapter
What's not so great: none
Bought 4 of this for front and rear speaker (Definitive ProMonitor 8oo). It came with many adapters for different small speaker sizes, can be adjust the height and hide speaker wire, the manual is clear and easy to follow, can stand on bare floor or carpet (came with 3 pins for each stand can be attach or remove).
Overall this product is great, I recommend for everyone who's looking for stand that is affordable, sturdy, looking good , fit many small speaker size, should give it a try, you won't disappoint.
