Pros: My son loves it, its easy to use, kid friendly, offers lots of accessories and games Cons: Battery life short must get the docking station
"I would highly reccomend this product to anyone looking for a hand held gaming system for their little one. We purchased it for our 3 year old son for Christmas and he loves it. It is great for car rides it has helped him love learning. He can play most of the games but does find some of the letter games to much of a challange. I think it will be something that he will be able to grow into."

My Kids Love It

Pros: Fun, Educational, Easy to Use
"We bought our 3 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter each a Leapster for Christmas, because their older brother has a Nintedo DS and they always try to play with it. They love their Leapsters and play with them all the time. My five year old is writing letters and playing reading and spelling games on her own. The games are fun and educational and include many of the Childern's movies and TV characters they like. The Leapster uses buttons and a touchscreen stylus for interaction. These has been a great purchase. The childern feel they are on the same level with their brother because they now have their own games, and the brother is happy because now they are not stealing his DS. Also, the LeapFrog products last a lot longer than V-tech. Best Buy is a great place to buy these. Everywhere was sold out of these, but Best Buy had stock."

Fun for preschool and beyond

Pros: Hours of great entertainment Cons: Games are pricey
"We bought this game as a spur of the moment add on Christmas gift last year for our 4 year old. Now she is 5 and all the other gifts from last year are long forgotten except this one! She plays it all the time and has her own little backpack for it where she stores her games. The games are educational and fun as well. Whenever other kids are playing at our house and this toy is picked up, it is an instant hit. I would recommend this as an awesome value for ages 4-8, girls or boys. The games are expensive but a very good investment."

Excellent buy for any child

Pros: durable, fun, educational, versitile Cons: screen becomes unresponsive after a few years
"The Leapster is a great investment for children over a great variety of ages. We originally received one when my son turned 4, and he still plays it almost four years later. My daughter, who is now almost three, has been playing the Leapster since she was 18 months old. There is a great selection of games, and the base games, such as the Chicken Coop (only on the grey Leapsters!) are loved by all children.
My only complaint is that after a few years, the middle of the screen is almost completely unresponsive. However, given the amount of times that the Leapster has survived being dropped, along with the stylus giving it quite the beating when a young child gets excited, it has actually held up very well.
This product is well worth buying, and later rebuying as it ages. I highly recommend it to any parent."
