What's great about it: web browswer
What's not so great: No Hulu capability, Netflix's selection is poor, other apps charge per movie/show
I got this to use instead of having cable TV. When I got it home, I realized I couldn't get Hulu. Not even through the web browser. It is blocked. I figured I could use Netflix as my main source for TV. The selection of movies and shows is terrible. So I checked out the other apps. Most of the other apps just didn't work. They needed updates but then the updates didn't work. The other apps require and average of $4 per movie or show. HBO Go only works if you are a current HBO subscriber. I might as well get cable again. The device freezes almost every time I use it. Netflix has a hard time connecting every other time. Even though I selected the option to have it start up with my TV, I am nearly done eating dinner by the time my show or movie actually begins because of all of these problems. I feel like I overpaid for this device. I should have just got a Roku.

What's great about it: mouse pad on the remote
What's not so great: price
It needs to have more storage and a faster processor while runnung cooler than it currently does for the price. It did crash a lot at first until the last update. The remote control can probably be made with better materials. If electricity use is not a big deal than a pc connection to the tv hdmi might be a better option.

What's great about it: Great Remote! Love the design and functions.
Set up is not difficult.
Full web browser was my main reason for purchase over the Roku. The easy to use remote with a navigating pad on one side and qwerty keyboard on the other just makes browsing the web on your TV a great experience. I've had it for several months and no major issues. Some apps can be buggy but my overall experience is enjoyable.

i think tha use of tha box is giving us tha choice to use our tv like smart tv no need to buy a smart tv anymore becauze we can go to tha internet using tha wi fi

What's great about it: The remote! Plus its Google!
What's not so great: Haven't came across anything I didn't like yet.
This unit makes doing anything a breeze. It Is so nice. Anytime I am watching something and I remember I need to look something up on the web I just pop it into picture in picture mode so I can keep watching while I surf. When I'm doing my homework and I want some tunes, I can load up Pandora or my own collection from Google Music. All of the TV functions are fluid and work as expected. I couldn't be more pleased.

Pretty good upgrade to a smart tv

What's great about it: easy set up, like having a smart phone on a TV
What's not so great: The remote keys could have been a little bigger
Im satisfied with the purcahse, instead of purchasing a smart tv for about $400/$500 more, I just got a nice regular flat panel tv and bought this product and saved a couple of hundred dollars.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing to complain about for me
It works great. It does everything i need it to. I search the web and pay bills and shop online with it i watch movies and listen to music.
Here they are charging 199.99 but at the sony website it is just 169.00

What's great about it: turns standard flat screen into a smart tv
What's not so great: freezes some times
Overall good product and has Google Play. Its nice to be able to surf the web and watch tv. Favorites and prime time options are great..

What's great about it: Fast, good price
What's not so great: Remote keyboard very small, back lit on one side only.
This is replacing my Logitech Revue, I got it because of the faster processor and smaller remote. It does a better job than the Revue, but it did freeze on me a couple times. Also, sometimes I am using the audio track for a couple seconds out of the blue...Might be that I need to tweak it some more.
Overall I am happy with it but I do think it could be a bit cheaper.

What's great about it: The price was good with what it said it can provide (web browser).
What's not so great: I could not find Hulu Plus and tried to go to Google store but got an error.
I did not have good experience with this product. I could not find Hulu Plus so I went to the Google store to download it but I got an error when I tried to get to it. I also tried its Web browser to a streaming movies site and was disappointed. It did not display as a computer's web browser and I could not find what I want. I returned it and bought an Apple TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really enjoy this Sony product. As I learned from my research and the best buy associate confirmed, what sets this apart from competitors like roku is the built in web browser. Though this is a really handy feature, I'm still not sure it's worth as much of a price jump. Overall I'm very happy though, as I use the product daily.

What's great about it: Able to easily access Internet from my couch!
What's not so great: Most apps cost money when they are usually free.
Is a great product but most apps that are typically free charge money to add such as Plex. The other downfall is Direct TV charges a monthly fee to be able to use the Google TV remote on the regular channels as well. Is still a great product, just hate being nickeled and dimed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: remote uses batteries like crazy, doesn't fully sync
The Older Version With The Blu Ray Is Much Nicer. This Version Is Terrible. It Constantly Upgrades While On The Internet, Loses Connection, Needs re-Booted, And The Remote Eats Batteries Like Crazy.

What's great about it: Can browse internet conveniently & TV provides better view than smaller computer screen.
What's not so great: Need a bigger keyboard. Maybe a way to connect wireless keyboard.
I like being able to web browse late at night from the convenience of my chair or even just before bedtime relaxing in my room. The view on a TV screen is so much better than a smaller computer screen. I do have a little trouble with such a small keyboard on the remote. It would be nice to have a way to connect a larger size wireless keyboard. I caught it on sale, so I felt like it was worth the money, but not sure I would have paid full price.

What's great about it: Intergration with DISH TV
What's not so great: Number of applications is currently limited.
The product easily intergrates with DISH TV and displays all movies playing on DISH in the same icon manner as NetFlix. With the screen- in - screen mode, you can surf the web and watch tv at the same time. Although you can download additional applications from the Play Store, the number of applications for this product is limited. I have owned the product for two months and have not experienced any issues.

What's great about it: Small form factor, looks cool, cool remote, nice/easy user interface.
What's not so great: Major content providers like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, Comedy Central, and MTV still block Google TV's software.
I will not repeat what all of the other wonderful reviews say, the product really is cool.
I didn't dig enough when I bought the device and unfortunately the primary reason I bought the device was to watch full TV episodes from the internet from ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, etc. These companies block Google TV's software and as a result didn't work for me.
