What's great about it: Price, processor, size
What's not so great: Kind of cheap feel, no bluetooth
This is the only laptop with an i5 processor that I could find at this price. It's also my first Asus. I've been happy with it so far (I've had it for about 5 weeks).
Even though it's refurbished, it appears brand new to me except for the brown box packaging that it came in. I have had no performance issues with it at all.
It's more than capable for all of the regular tasks that I do: email, web browse, website design, word processing, spreadsheets, iTunes.
I can't say it's the most sturdy-feeling laptop I've ever used, but I'm content.
My only complaint was the touch pad. It bothered me because I'd constantly bump it while typing, thus placing the cursor somewhere other than where I wanted to be typing. Research online said that I should use Function-F9 to disable the touch pad while using a USB mouse, but that key sequence did not work. After a little more research, I went to the Asus site and updated the drivers for the touch pad. (Using the Windows auto-detect drivers function did NOT solve this problem.) Now Function-F9 disables the touch pad when I want to use a USB mouse and don't want to mess with bumping it while typing. Hopefully this will help others having the same problem.

What's great about it: Fast, looks great
What's not so great: None much as far as I can tell
This laptop looks great, works great, and would be perfect for anyone on a budget but still wants a quality laptop. The specs for processing are head and shoulders above others in its price range (~40). The same model new is 60$ more, so that is understandable. The trade off in this case is the same with all refurbished technology, you generally sacrifice a warranty and guarantee for better spec's at a cheaper price. I do not presume to speak for absolutely everyone, but I know my laptop performs excellently, and I cannot imagine how a new laptop could be better in any way. With a wiped hard drive, it's like new.
The laptop only arrived a few days ago, but all my expectations have already been exceeded. The screen is excellent. Setup is easy. The processing is to die for. I cannot say enough good things about the ability to boost your computer's processing 125 percent at will. It is easy to do (via a gadget on the desktop) and with the laptop plugged in, it is more than worth it to enable it for regular browsing, gaming, or anything you desire.
While the 'Dark Brown' color described in the product details may tend to disincline you from purchasing, don't let it. It looks even better than the picture in the description. It is smooth, sleek, light, tin, and overall, very easy on the eyes.
I bought this laptop for computer-based classes my senior year and kicking off my college career, and I expect it to meet and surpass the call. I would recommend this laptop to anyone seeking a modern, fast, and sleek laptop for work OR play.
