What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Everything
"I bought this router to get a secure connection for my internet use...I already own a linksys and it works wonderfully. The netgear router worked fine for the computer it was hard wired to but....No wireless connection on 2 different Laptops. I called the company 4 times and talked for an hour each time and they still could not get the internet to connect wirelessly.
I reconnected my linsys back up and took the netgear one back."

What's great about it: Good wireless router, easy to install and set-up.
What's not so great: Haven't had a problem with it.
"This is a great router, also a very affordable price range. I hadn't set up any kind of a router before, so I wasn't sure how I was gonna get it all networked up and running smoothly. The installation cd it came with took care of all of those things I was wondering about. I easily set up the router, and created a wireless network for my Xbox 360 and iPod Touch to run on with the installation CD. The whole set-up process only took me like 10-15 minutes, and I'd highly recommend this brand of router if you are new to the world of routers, like I was."

What's great about it: Easy Setup, Led's
What's not so great: none
"Well, beings I just purchased a laptop I also had to purchase another router (my older one was 5 years old and would not work correctly). Picked up ths little beauty the same day as my laptop. Set-up was a piece of cake, took less than 15 minutes to hook up to my modem and set-up my laptop. All the lights in front will let you know what is going on with your connections at all times. Very easy to use and hook up other wireless devices with."

What's great about it: Good Price; Easy set up
What's not so great: The constant blinking signal light
"I purchased my PS3 because of the FREE internet access. After inquiring about the need for wireless access, I learned about router equipment. The sales person at Bestbuy was very helpful with assisting me with selecting the perfect router. Since I have a multi-level home, I was encouraged to go with a "G" router (because of a strong enough signal to reach between floors). I selected this Netgear, for the price, looks and the advice of the sales person. The set up was quick, and all one needs to do is follow the instructions. My PS3 immediately responded to the signal, and it has NEVER lost a signal. I was very pleased to find that my son's PSP is also able to benefit from the router. He was very excited to learn that we can connect both systems by internet. WOW!!! Lastly, I was pleased to learn that my network is protected by my password, thus preventing others from hacking into my world. WHAT A BUY; WHAT A PRODUCT!!!!"

What's great about it: Piece of cake to install
What's not so great: So far so good
"Had to get a new wireless router because I switched from Qwest to Comcast. I only needed to connect three notebooks in my house so I didn't need anything fancy. The super G seems to be fast enough as I have not had any issues. Definitely worth the price."

What's great about it: Easy install, performing better than expected
What's not so great: none yet
"Set up was a breeze, my laptop connected without any issues whatsoever. My speeds have been right around 54Mbps, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Haven't had any loss of connection, whereas with my 5yr old wireless router, it was happening 3-4 times per day, if not more."

What's great about it: Easy Set-up; Fast speed; Secure; Strong signal
What's not so great: Could use a better user manual; might be a bit confusing for non-techies.
"I exchanged a problematic Linksys Wireless G router for the Netgear Super-G a few days ago, and so far, I've had no problems with the Netgear router. Basic setup was a breeze, and my wireless home network was up and running in no time. Just remember to install and configure the router on the SAME computer that you used to set-up your DSL or high-speed (cable) internet service, even if you don't plan on using wireless internet access on that computer. I first tried to install/configure the Netgear unit on my new laptop, and I kept getting a "no DSL signal detected" error message. Once I switched to my old desktop, it was smooth sailing. Advanced set-up (e.g., securing your wireless network) was a bit trickier. (NOTE: Basic set-up of the Netgear router does NOT include setting up security features, so advanced set-up is required if you don't want people hacking into your network and your computer(s)). Compared to the 30 minutes it took me to do basic set-up, I spent an hour-and-a-half setting up the security features, most of it looking for detailed instructions. The Netgear unit does not come with a printed manual, and both the on-screen guidelines and the set-up guide on the installation CD are a little short on details. (A full, printable user manual is available at Netgear.com.) If you're a member of the "computer generation," you should be able to figure it all out fairly easily by navigating around the set-up menu. But if you require technical hand-holding, you may need to call Netgear's toll-free tech support line. (I can't vouch for the tech support line, since I didn't need to call). It is very worthwhile to take the extra time to do advanced security set-up, because you'd be hard-pressed to find better security features on a G wireless router. Other than the sparse advanced instructions (a pretty minor issue), the Netgear Super-G is a gem of a wireless router. Compared to some of the "wireless home network horror stories" that I've heard, setting up the Netgear Super-G was easy as pie for me. Once up and running, it has been super-fast and pretty easy to maintain, and has great range. I would definitely recommend this product."

What's great about it: Worked right away after first setup
What's not so great: very bright blue blinking wireless light
"I returned the non-working WPN824 model and purchased this one instead. It installed and worked the first time. Very happy after the drama that happened with the last Netgear product. The blue wireless light blinks frequently, and makes my whole bedroom light up at night. It is annoying, but I'll get used to it."

Great Router

What's great about it: Easy Install - Anyone can set it up
What's not so great: Tech Support
"This is a great router, excellent range, great price. The extra two pieces it comes with are "feet" so if you want to stand it up, you can. The instructions are so easy to follow, it's dummy proof, however if you DO run into issues, which is highly unlikely, but if you do, the customer service/tech support isn't very good at all. But this is such a great router, you shouldn't need tech support."

What's great about it: Easy install, features all work!
What's not so great: None yet
"If you have no fancy needs, just good old fasion internet access for wireless or wired computers, this thing will fire up and simply go. Even for the advanced users, this install is a slam dunk. I am not a tech head, but found myself being forced down the tech path. My company has deployed a VPN, my wireless network had been locking up for years, and I now have a reason to access an application into my home network from outside while maintaining security. My old router and wireless device could not pass my employers new VPN and setting up access without a big security problem was - well just not working. By using the install wizard and doing exactly what it said, I was up and running in 20 minutes. A small setting on the "advanced" settings and even my external access was working. For non-tech heads like myself, I found the online help the best I had read. Two thumbs and two big toes up!"

What's great about it: VPN pass-through worked
What's not so great: Slower than my old router, No Tech Support
"IF you might need Tech Support don’t buy this. I tried the call center and email and got absolutely nothing. I replaced an older Belkin router with “Super G” for greater speeds, extend range, and the VPN pass-through capability. The Belkin gave me 54Mbps. I am averaging 36Mbps with the new and improved Netgear model. The range is not much better, but the VPN pass-through did actually work. All in all, what the heck kinda dang deal is that……"

What's great about it: NETWORKING FOR DUMMIES
What's not so great: HAVENT FOUND ONE
"I am a level 2 internet support rep for Comcast and i until now had no preference for router installation. Let me be abundantly clear the router is no magic piece of technology but most routers have installtion software that wiill help no futher than to get an internet connection and if you are lucky help to get that network secure. Netgear's software though walks you through the installation the firmware upgrade making sure youre router connects at its maximum efficiency and securing youre network with a very easy to use utility. I would recommend it to anyone, and for anyone that asks in the future i will."
