What's great about it: Easy set up, measures many things not just weight
I read these reviews and must admit I was a little concerned, but I have several other iHealth products and have been very happy with them. I went ahead and got the scale and I have had NONE of the problems some other people are reporting. Here's what I experienced:
1) Set up: was NOT that difficult, people. I have a very secure network. My SSID is not broadcast, I have a WPA 2 Password and have MAC filtering enabled. To get the scale to work I just located the MAC address (in the battery compartment), gave it access and turned it on. Once the scale connected to my iPad via bluetooth and I told the iPad to share my Wi Fi settings it took about 30 seconds and BOOM. It was ready to use.
2) Accuracy: I check my weight on a daily basis so I knew about what to expect when I stepped on the scale. It was VERY accurate. Just be sure when you remove the plastic strip you set it to the correct units - mine was set on stones (whatever THAT IS) so I just moved the switch to pounds and viola!
3) Other: It's nice to be able to find out not only my weight, but also my BMI, percent body fat, lean mass, bone mass, muscle mass, viseral fat rating, and body water percentage - all in only a few seconds.
In short, this scale IS easy to set up if you follow the instructions, it's accurate and it's fun!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Connects with app, has BMI & other measurements
What's not so great: Loses wifi connection about once a week
I've never had a scale that connects to wifi before, that's pretty amazing in its self. It is easier to setup then most people's reviews say, you click set on the scale, connect to Bluetooth with your phone, click allow to share wifi connection, done. It does lose this connection and I have to re-setup like once a week, annoying but eh. It's weight measurement seems off when you keep weighing it'll keep changing by a pound or two. Just do it once a day and you'll have a nice graph on your app, I think it's nice. It should come with a BMI wall chart and other info about all the other numbers it spits out, for I think it's around $100 for the scale, a wall chart wouldn't be too much for them.

What's great about it: Wakes up from sleep mode very quick. Connects to wireless network within seconds. So many great and useful features
What's not so great: When reading weight if you lean one way or the other the scale will sometimes be a little off. Only tenths of a pound.
Don't listen to other people that left reviews on this scale. I almost didn't buy it based on those reviews. I'm very glad I bought it. It works great. It is extremely easy to setup. I researched all the other scales for sale by Best Buy and none compare or even have the features this one does. This scale measures seven different things ( Body Fat, Lean Mass, Bone Mass, Visceral Fat , Muscles Mass, Body Water, and of course your weight and BMI.#
I have no idea why the other reviews claim that it was difficult to setup to the network. I'm assuming these folks did not read or follow the quick setup guide. I admit this scale is not as pretty looking as the other glass ones but I know it works great and has more features. You don't have to have your phone with you each time you step on the scale. Just tap the scale with your feet, let it connect to the wireless #only takes a few seconds#, stand on it, let read your weight and % body fat. The scale will automatically identify which user its measuring and upload your data to your online account. Your app will synch up with your online account the next time you open it.. The iHealth app that is used for this scale is so good. You could really track and monitor your health with this app.
So again don't take my word for it. Try it yourself and like everything else if doesn't work for you or you're one of those that cant read setup instructions, you can always return it #*of course within so many days).

What's great about it: Seems accurate for weights
What's not so great: Dropped network
This product cannot maintain Network connectivity as a consequence each time you use the device you have to remove the batteries restart reboot it,reconnected to your cell phone via Bluetooth and then reconnected to the network. This makes a process which should be automatic more cumbersome than using a standard scale and hand entering the information.

I purchased the HS5 and upon removal from box and installation of batteries it was dead on arrival. Tried 2 sets of new batteries and same result. Left message with IHealth customer service. After a week they called back and agreed to a return. Paid 1/4 of the price of scale to return to them. After 1.5-2 months they sent me a new scale. Same result, dead on arrival. THEY DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO TEST THE NEW SCALE BEFORE SENDING. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT>

What's great about it: Looks cool
What's not so great: Difficult to set-up and use, horrible set-up instructions
1. The initial quality of this was not very good. The first unit I got had to be returned and replaced because it would not even power up.
2. Once I got a unit that started-up I could not get it connected to my network and the directions were no help at all. They are very confusing and not very coherent. I replaced this unit with the Fitbit Aria which works a lot better.
I did later figure out that I probably needed to have the unit connect to my lower frequency network and not the 5GB network on my Apple router.

I am a tech guy working on high tech industry. My specialty is computer networking. So in normal situation I should have no trouble to setup this scale, right? Wrong....
The documentation is lack of warning. It assume a lot of common house host setup. I used a higher security setup on my router which hide the SSID and MAC address filtering. The scale had a hard time to communicate to my house router. My final solution is:
1) setup my router to broadcast the SSID
2) Put the scale MAC address to my router. The MAC address of the scale is labeled behind the battery. It is hard to find.
3) I need to download the APP to my IPHONE. The APP is iHealth MyVitals. I first downloaded the iHealth Scale incorrectly.
By the way the IPHONE Bluetooth connection with the scale is only used for setting up the scale wifi connection. I think it transfer the SSID and password from my IPHONE to the scale via Bluetooth. Once it transferred the data, it will try to logon your router. It uses DHCP request. You also need to setup your account in iHealth website by using iHealth MyVitals APP.
Once you get the wifi symbol and 00 on the scale, your wifi setup is done. The scale will stop Bluetooth connection and will only use wifi to communicate to the company website and you iphone/ipad.

I purchased the scale with the blood pressure monitor. The BP monitor works great, this scale has been trouble from the moment I opened the box. The first one wouldn't come on at all, after purchasing two different sets of batteries. The second wouldn't come on for the first hour or so and when we took it back to the store it was on in the box. We brought it back home and it paired with my IPad fairly easily. After pairing the scale will not reset, it is stuck in 'set' display mode. I have taken the batteries out, waited for it to turn itself off but nothing. I really wanted this but looks like I am going to have to accept that it doesn't work properly.

What's great about it: Easy to set up
What's not so great: Nothing
I have to say this product was very easy to set up and pair with my iPhone. The weight it is showing accurate to me. I've had scales in the past where I could weigh myself several different times in a row and get different weights each time. The iHealth Scale is giving me the same read each time which is awesome! I also really like the iPhone app. Its easy to use and gives me all the details in one quick summary page.

Have had this for about a month now. The thing just doesn't work. I can rarely get it to talk with my iPhone and never with my iPad. Talked to tech support and they said to reset it and it worked for about a week. The iPhone software is unreal....good luck figuring out how to manually add your weight.

What's great about it: It looks nice.
What's not so great: It doesn't work as described. ZERO customer service support
I would give this product no stars if that was an option.
The scale was difficult to initially set up. My husband and I are fairly tech savvy, and this was the worst experience we've had setting up a product to connect to our WiFi.
The scale is supposed to support data for multiple people. It worked fine for about two weeks, until it dropped me, the second user, for no apparent reason. It would then send my info to my husband's app. We've tried to reset the scale multiple times, and it just will not respond as though there is more than one user. It is supposed to recognize there are different users, especially when there is a significant difference in weight. It does not.
The customer support for the product is non-existent. When you call, it goes straight to voice mail. Leaving a message hasn't worked because no one calls back. Sending an email doesn't work either because no one responds.
We are returning the product.

What's great about it: The idea!
What's not so great: Doesn't work.
Right out of the box I knew I was in trouble with this thing. I had a hard time understanding the instruction on setting it up to the wifi.
After reading the direction a 5th time, I realized that it must be set up correctly even though the wifi said it had disconnected. Anyway; once I figured I was connected and got on the scale, it was off by 120 LBS.
Tried a few different ways trying to reset the scale by taking out the batteries and reconnecting to the wifi. Same results.
I'll be returning this tomorrow.

What's great about it: It's sleek looking. It was easy to install.
What's not so great: Inaccurate readings.
Out of the box, the batteries didn't work. I replaced them with 4 AA batteries. Stepped on the scale & it weighed me & accurately uploaded the information to my app. There seemed to be a delay in getting any other information such as my BMI. When I stepped off of the scale a number flashed by that I think was the BMI. I waited a few seconds and got back on the scale, and in seconds, I had lost 2 pounds. I got off & back on & I had gained 1 & 1/2 pounds. I called iHealth Labs & got poor customer service. Was advised to wait up to 10 mins between weigh ins. I did. Still got inaccurate readings. Taking it back

What's not so great: Did not work
Purchased this unit along with the wireless blood pressure monitor. The scale was DOA even after replacing the supplied batteries. The BP monitor stopped working after 3 reads. Sent an email to iHealth and did not get a reply. Appears that they may be having quality control issues. I have been very satisified with their dock blood pressure monitor. Will be returning to BB.
