Very good fridge 02/10/2008

What's great about it: space, easy to clean, low energy consumption
What's not so great: takes way too long to get ice cubes out of dispenser

"All in all an excellent fridge. Purchased Jun 2007 as we moved into a new house. Now I see that the price is nearly half of what we paid then, but oh well now it's Last Year's Model.
But it's a very spacious and attractive fridge, and the satina surface definitely resists the kind of fingerprint and smudge buildup that plagues actual stainless finishes (our prior fridge had that problem). The drawers and shelves are very easy to remove and put back or to adjust for height, making storage and cleaning simple. On the freezer side, there is quite a lot of room for everything even large stuff -- it's deceptively roomy. On occasion the freezer drawer sticks or falls off its slider on one side but that's minor.
Over time the main thing that drives me nuts about this thing is the time it takes to dispense ice cubes. With a completely full bin (I check), it can take 30 to 45 seconds to get a dozen or so cubes. Seriously, it can be 10 or 15 seconds between bursts of one or two cubes - meanwhile you're just kinda waiting..... I even check to make sure the cubes at the bottom where the spiral is aren't all stuck together (they're not). I don't it.
But that's my only complaint. I would certainly recommend this fridge."

I STILL LOVE THIS REFRIGERATOR!! 12/29/2007

What's great about it: Easy to clean, inside & out
What's not so great: Nothing I've found yet!!

"We've had this refrigerator for over a year now, and I still find myself telling people how much I love it!! Someone asked me if I hated cleaning smudged fingerprints off the stainless, and I showed them "what fingerprints?" My mother's concern about the side by side was not having room enough for the "thanksgiving turkey." My response is now 'gobble gobble', because it fit in the bottom freezer drawer without a problem. The ice maker offers chips or cubes, and the bottom of the water/ice dispenser comes out easily enough to clean. The bins on the inside fridge door hold a spilled gallon of milk (believe me, it's happened), and the entire inside is soooo easy to clean, becuase everything can come right out!!"

What's great about it: Easy Clean finish

"We are totally loving our new Whirlpool side by side.
It has all the space we need in the freezer, and is easier to keep organized and find things. The satina finish is a lot easier to keep clean too. A very sound investment. We are glad we bought one."

Great Buy 09/20/2007

"I went from a 22 cu. ft., top and bottom to this side by side and it's been great. I love the size of the shelves on the door and being able to store the milk and juice there out of the way of the smaller items. It seems to shorten the length of time the kids hold the door open to search for what they are looking for. I will never go back to a top to bottom after using this side by side. It is so much easier to find items in the freezer. I know I will lose less food to age and freezer burn because I can actually ensure everything is being used in a timely manner because I can see everything available. The water filtering system works well. (We couldn't even drink the water from my old refrigerator)."
