What's great about it: Quickly calculates advanced calculations
"This is an amazing calculator that is capable of performing most advanced calculations. Can be used in conjunction with an optional USB cable in order to upload data points and programs. This has same functionality as TI-92 minus the full keyboard. I had no problem using this calculator on test or exams, but I would recommend checking with your Professor/Teacher prior to purchasing."

What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: none
"I purchased this after giving my TI-83 to a sibling. This calculator is light years ahead of the 83. The screen is sharper, there's more memory for storing programs, and there are many more functions than my old graphing calculator.
The TI-89 has helped me so much with my college calculus & physics courses. Texas Instruments has really outdone themselves with this."

"Great aid for those taking higher math courses. Takes I believe 4 double a batteries which last quite long. The screen is large enough for easy viewing and once you get used to the calculator, you will know it by nature and will become a powerful tool."

What's great about it: many free programs, math capabilities
What's not so great: none!
"I received this product summer of 2005. The capabilities of this product is seemingly endless! When it comes to math, this calculator far exceeds the capabilities of my old TI83+. It can solve your calculus problems in a jiffy, and it has the ability to do enough math functions to satisfy a high school or college student. If there is anything lacking, there are websites where users can upload calculator programs and games. The battery life on this is simply amazing, I recharge my batteries perhaps once a year. Now that I am no longer taking math, I use still use my TI89T as a calendar, and note taker. It also stores all of my phone numbers, which came in handy when I switched cell phones. In other words, this calculator can do almost anything you want it to do!"

What's great about it: Features
What's not so great: not nec. for all users
"The price should keep most people just looking to add and subtract away, but if you're in calculus, this is the one for you!!
Features FAR beyond the TI-84+, and better screen resolution and battery life. I used this one for three years in college. GREAT calc! Good investment for students, I still use mine!"
