The sound quality is clearly good - it's Bose. These headphones have gotten a lot of use. A couple of us in the office have a set, and in both cases, without any abuse, the plastic that connects the LEFT ear piece to the crown has cracked right through the (L) marking. I'm not one for disposable technology - and these phones have lasted a couple years (for each of us) but at some point the structure will fail, and I'm hoping that Bose has addressed this issue since I bought my set. I really liked them, and would like to buy another set, but will be looking closely at the construction of the crown.

What's great about it: Light-weight and crisp sound
What's not so great: Not much bass and not extremely durable
These headphones are great for the price. If you're looking for a light-weight, average priced pair of headphones, these are perfect. I would discourage the heavy traveler from purchasing them, however. I've had mine for about a year over which I have done a moderate amount of traveling. The chord isn't very heavy duty and is barely holding by a thread at this point. Overall, these headphones are lightweight, have good, crisp sound quality (but not much bass), but they won't hold up for a long time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: poor sound, built sloppy and cheap
do not get these. Bose which was once a great name in sound has made a cheap pair of headphones with terrible sound. its a shame that mistaking looks for quality. unit did not come with the accessories advertised. best buy sales people know the good ones. buy them. cost a little more, but well worth it. i got two pair before i switched brands.

I bought these headphones three years ago, but used them very lightly. The sound was good nothing great and they provided great comfort, but the padding wears down real quickly.
I was not impressed with the cord its very thin and it tangles easy. The headphones snapped while taking them off one night that plastic is very thin and not durable. Thanks but no thanks for $50 more you could get way better headphones.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's not so great: The ear cushion wears off over time
These headphones are truly great. I've had them for like 2 years, maybe even more and they still work as when I first bought them. The only thing I hate is that the ear cushion wears off over time and it costs $35 from bose to replace them. They are also light weight.

the top of ur head can start to hurt with prolonged use of these headphones. other than that i have nothing bad to say about them. they have great sound quality, and they have lasted me abt 6 months so far. they have no stress marks or any sign of wear. if you take care of em they will take care of you.

What's not so great: The durability of this product is horrible.
Sound Quality was very good I was Impressed with the sound quality.
Although if I spend $135.00 on a pair of Headphones I expect to have them for more than 2 years. The wires leading into the Headphone housings have broke, No replacement parts just useless. So now I have $135.00 Pair of Ear plugs. Thanks Bose But never again...

Even though these arent noise cancelling headphones they worked well on the plane. The sound quality is typical of any Bose product. Well worth the money. The only reason that I gave them a 4 for durability is beacuse I'm not sure how long they will last before I break them while traveling.

I was really surprised by the fact that these sounded very thin to me. First I tried them with my mp3 player and was not impressed at all. I just thought that maybe they were so good that they revealed all the imperfections of an mp3 even though I have them encoded at 320. I tried them on my home stereo of which I consider to be of high quality. I am not an audiophile by the way. To be fair these do have great clarity. I would have liked the bass to have been much stronger. They just don't seem to have the punch I am looking for. They are most assuredly not for heavy metal. That's not all that I listen to but I do listen to it enough so I am taking them back. I know others have loved these and for good reason. They just don't fit my personal taste.

I have had these for over 3 years. I have thrown them, stuffed them in my baseball bag with a bunch of other stuff, they have had a lot of weight on them... you name it, they have been through it. I have yet to have any problems with durability like other people have said and I know for a fact that mine have been in far worse environments than most peoples'.
The sound quality is very good. This is the only product that I would buy from Bose however. They make great headphones

What's not so great: Cheap Headband
I bought these 4 years ago and love them. The sound quality is great, the price is (now) great (I paid considerably more) and they are very comfortable. The only problem is that the design of the headband is very dependent on quality plastic. They don't use good materials, and as a result, the yoke holding the ear cups break where it joins the headband. After the first time, I glued it back together and handled them very gingerly. The glue would hold for several weeks and then break again. On one occasion I realized that the break occurred on the "other" side, so from that point on I was VERY careful in placing them on my head or taking them off. I tried to get replacement on the headband from BOSE but their only offer was to replace the whole headphone for $60 and return of the old ones. Even cheap headphones for $50 have much better durability. So if you do buy them, handle very carefully and keep a tube of glue handy.

i had my boses headphones almost a year then i was not getting any sound out of the right ear called them and they sent me a new pair with a new warranty they sound good with enough bass in it i listen to quiet music alot that don,t require a lot of bass the are little tight around the ears but they will loosed up over time little pricey but well worth it

I bought and then returned these headphones. The sound is not bad. The problem is build quality. Even the floor model in my local Best Buy was broken, and online reviews on many sites indicate this is a very common problem. For a bit less money, you can find better sound and build in the Sennheiser HD 448 (a new model closed headphone) or the Sennheiser HD 238 (an open headphone). If someone gave you the Bose Triport, and you can't politely return them, just remember to treat them very carefully.

First of all, they are Bose headphones, so the sound is excellent. They are very comfortable around the ears, but extended listening will cause your ears to sweat. The biggest problem with these headphones is the construction. The actual speakers are connected to the headband through three small plastic screws surrounded by a housing made of brittle plastic. The first time you turn your head away from the computer with a short cord, and the headphones won't just pop off your head: the speaker WILL break away from the headband, and you will never be able to connect it again. I just glued it back to where the headband could not turn, and in my move, the other speaker broke away as well. $149 should buy a better quality product. Period.

great headphones, recently bought Skullcandy Hesh and they were awful, the sound quality was alright, but the hurt my head and ears after the first 10 minutes wearing them. These Bose blow all the other headphones iv had away. Amazing sound quality, veryyyy comfortable, and cable plenty long enough for what i use them for, but they could of been built just a little more rugged and durable, but im not complaining. its also nice they came with an extender and adapter. I didnt mind paying the price for these, its a great buy.

What's not so great: makes ears sweat, delicate craftsmanship
If you absolutely love music this is a must have. The over ear design allows this headphones to sound as if you are using a surround sound system (listening to cd quality tracks ofcourse). It's excellent to listen to music at home. Outdoors is a little different experience. Even though it has noise canceling technology you can still hear faint sound of subway train, but in the park or in the office is excellent. Also, if you power walk you can bet your ears are going to sweat in the summer heat. Overall it is a great set of headphone. I Love it.

I use these for editing audio since their audio quality is excellent and they are light weight and I can wear them all day. They fit over the ear so other noises are more or less filtered out. I liked them so well we bought 2 more for our studio.

I use these for audio recording and they sound great. These headphones feel good on the ears really comfortable but get hot. They are a little delicate so be careful, and try to buy them on sale. $150 is a little high they have been on sale for $129.95 before. Overall a good product
