best headphones for the money

What's great about it: comfortable around the ears, good price
What's not so great: cord could be thicker and more wider head bandand more padding on head band
"i had my boses headphones almost a year then i was not getting any sound out of the right ear called them and they sent me a new pair with a new warranty they sound good with enough bass in it i listen to quiet music alot that don,t require a lot of bass the are little tight around the ears but they will loosed up over time little pricey but well worth it"

What's great about it: Decent sound
What's not so great: Fragile and overpriced
"I bought and then returned these headphones. The sound is not bad. The problem is build quality. Even the floor model in my local Best Buy was broken, and online reviews on many sites indicate this is a very common problem. For a bit less money, you can find better sound and build in the Sennheiser HD 448 (a new model closed headphone) or the Sennheiser HD 238 (an open headphone). If someone gave you the Bose Triport, and you can't politely return them, just remember to treat them very carefully."

Great sound, really bad craftsmanship

What's great about it: Excellent sound for a reasonable price
What's not so great: Breaks very very easily
"First of all, they are Bose headphones, so the sound is excellent. They are very comfortable around the ears, but extended listening will cause your ears to sweat. The biggest problem with these headphones is the construction. The actual speakers are connected to the headband through three small plastic screws surrounded by a housing made of brittle plastic. The first time you turn your head away from the computer with a short cord, and the headphones won't just pop off your head: the speaker WILL break away from the headband, and you will never be able to connect it again. I just glued it back to where the headband could not turn, and in my move, the other speaker broke away as well. $149 should buy a better quality product. Period."

What's not so great: could of been built a little more rugged, but thats no big deal.
"great headphones, recently bought Skullcandy Hesh and they were awful, the sound quality was alright, but the hurt my head and ears after the first 10 minutes wearing them. These Bose blow all the other headphones iv had away. Amazing sound quality, veryyyy comfortable, and cable plenty long enough for what i use them for, but they could of been built just a little more rugged and durable, but im not complaining. its also nice they came with an extender and adapter. I didnt mind paying the price for these, its a great buy."

Excellent sound

What's great about it: Crisp clear quality sound
What's not so great: makes ears sweat, delicate craftsmanship
"If you absolutely love music this is a must have. The over ear design allows this headphones to sound as if you are using a surround sound system (listening to cd quality tracks ofcourse). It's excellent to listen to music at home. Outdoors is a little different experience. Even though it has noise canceling technology you can still hear faint sound of subway train, but in the park or in the office is excellent. Also, if you power walk you can bet your ears are going to sweat in the summer heat. Overall it is a great set of headphone. I Love it."

What's great about it: Can wear them all day without fatigue and exceptional sound quality
What's not so great: Very thin cable
"I use these for editing audio since their audio quality is excellent and they are light weight and I can wear them all day. They fit over the ear so other noises are more or less filtered out. I liked them so well we bought 2 more for our studio."

"I use these for audio recording and they sound great. These headphones feel good on the ears really comfortable but get hot. They are a little delicate so be careful, and try to buy them on sale. $150 is a little high they have been on sale for $129.95 before. Overall a good product"

"These were my first pair of over the ear headphones and I was extremely impressed! If you listen to rap music, or any music with lots of bass, you will not be disappointed. I have had them for over a year and the quality is still the same as the day I got them. If you are looking for great over the ear headphones I would definitely recommend these."

Ear piece is not steady

What's not so great: Ear piece comes out of the attachment, Ear piece attachement is very bad.

"At first, I bought the on-ear headphones which the sound was phenomenal. I was blown away by the strong bass and loved it! But I returned them because I didn't like the feel of them on my ears. I was used to the around the ear style. So then, I bought the around-ear Bose headphones assuming/hoping they would have the same sound quality. For some reason, I don't get the same bass impact and am a lil disappointed. Or maybe I'm going deaf. That could be the reason. I use headphones mainly for computer use to listen to music. Yes, the overall sound quality is distinct and very good-hi's, low's, whatever. When I tested these in the bose store, I couldn't tell the bass quality because the music was some kind of jazz/acoustic stuff. I would recommend to test it at the store with the type of music you're gonna be listening to."

"These headphones are INCREDIBLE to say the least. If you want great quality sound then you will have to choose bose. I'm sure that all the bose headphones sound this great but I chose these because I liked the nice round cup that would fit comfortably around my ear. The headphones are not only awesome with music but also sound incredible with movies. The only thing that annoys me is if you turn the sound even half way up everyone in the room can hear what your listening to, but hey that just means it's clear!!"

Good headphones

What's great about it: Sound, comfort
What's not so great: Nothing I've encountered so far
"I guess this is just me...but I only use them when I'm on my computer, so I haven't really encountered any problems so far. The sound is clear and has great bass, and the cushion is comfortable enough to allow you to wear it for hours without exhausting your ears. Plus they cancel some external sound (at least for me) so it's a plus when my brothers got their friends in the house goofing around (we have a computer area in the house and they would hang out there, where I'm also using my computer). The headphones are kind of flimsy though, so they're not good for the run and "active" use (lots of moving around). The price on here is too much (and in this case, not worth it) but it didn't affect me because I got my pair for like, at least $50 less. It's safe to say these are good headphones, but I can only say that they will only be one of the headphones that I have encountered and enjoyed/am still enjoying--not one of the best ones, for I have yet to find them."

"Cord ripped within 6 months. Received for Christmas and already ripped. Paying $130 for "bose quality" yet lasted less than any pair of headphones i've ever purchased. yet to see how bose will alleviate the situation but probably going to be without headphones for a month while sent to the factory. Why spend the money if the quality isn't there? Sound of headphones is great. The cord where it connects to the jack ripped and I no longer get any sound out of the right side. Cheapness on Bose's part, yet charge exorbitant prices. Cord should be reinforced around the connector so this doesn't happen - the black cord around wires frayed and right side died. stay away - would not consider another bose product. why bother when so many other high end up options available."

What's great about it: The sound is great. The Bass is strong and the overall sound quality is great.
What's not so great: These have reliablity issues. The price is a bit on the high side.
"These Bose Ear phones have great overall sound quality and light weight. They can be comfortably worn for hours without hurting your ears due to too much pressure. There's no sound isolation provided with these ear phones, so crank up the volume to tune out the outside world. My major sticking point with these is reliabilty. I only had these for 6 months when the Ear Cup starting popping off with only average use during my daily commute. It's not like I've been throwing them around or sat on them. So if you really want these then get the extended warranty and expect to replace them within 6 months due to weak construction, esp with the high asking price."

"I have gone through 3 different brands of headphones this past month, trying to find a decent pair for a good price. These headphones are the best that I have found!
They are a little pricey, but it is worth it in the long run. They are lightweight, comfortable, and sound great! I have used them for watching TV, listening to music, and the best performance I have found is with my PS3. I have not found anything wrong with them yet...they even come with an extension!"

What's great about it: deep ear cup
What's not so great: high price with low build quality, typical of Bose
"The sound quality of these headphone is quite good. I am anything but a Bose fan and would NEVER buy these headphones again. Quite simply, as is typical of Bose, there is far better products from lesser known companies for far less money. at 1/3 of the Price the Sennheiser HD205 headphones are a far more capable unit (any Best Buy with a musical instruments area should have several Sennheiser models able to be tested out) .
The Bose headphone have a deep ear cup and light weight which make them comfortable for extended use, but other than a person planning on using these for several continuous hours these are a poor buy."

What's not so great: I sometimes miss what's going on around me...
"I purchased my headphones about 5 or 6 years ago when they first came out. The sound is so good that when I hear a phone ring or something drop, I look around! Just lately they're beginning to show their age. The plastic has become brittle and they've broken on both sides where they adjust, and on the left side where the earphone itself pivots. But they are so good that I just glued them with Gorilla Glue and keep on using them!! They may have changed them through the years, but these ones are exceptional!!"
