What's great about it: Excellent Sound Quality For Three Speaker System
What's not so great: DVD lacks good quality picture
"This Bose system is by far the best choice in it's price range. At $999.99 this system outperforms my previous six speaker sytem. Bose has created an environment in which a surround sound is generated by two small satellite speakers and a simple yet believable bass module. Coupled with an HD Televsion and HD dvd system, theatre sound has been made possible. However, this Bose system should not purchased if the arrangement of speakers is going to set up in a larger enviroment. The 321 Series does best in smaller rooms comformed by a box or rectangular shaped area. There is no doubt that for the price, this three speaker technology should be recognized. The only disappointment is the lack of a great picture from there media player. Other than that, I would highly recommend this sytem..."

What's great about it: great quality
What's not so great: price
"i needed to upgrade my bedroom system and for the radio tuner and cd option i was able to replace about 6 units for this one in all unit. it has inputs to expand if needed but for the most part and for a bedroom it plays my music and movies with a small sized unit and simple wires that any one should be able to install. the sound is clean and for the sub being so small it has amazing bass even with out raising the setting for bass. i found it to be better than i was expecting from this unit and for the people not wanting to pay about $4,000 to do it right the $999 price and with the bose name it should impress any one!"

What's great about it: Clear sound, decent bass
What's not so great: Not quite as good as true surround sound
"This system is great for a small room or one in which you do not want a sound system that affects the visual integrity of the room. The system is compact and unobtrusive yet delivers rich basses and crisp clear sound. Although it's not as good as a high quality surround sound system, it does a great job considering that the sound is coming from one "acoustimass" module and two tiny little speakers."

Big Sound for Small Rooms with Big Budgets

What's great about it: Amazing Bose sound depth and clarity in a compact multi-function box
What's not so great: Why can't they make a smaller subwoofer?
"Stack a DVD player on top of an A/V receiver on top of a surround sound system. Now picture all of that compressed down to the size of a set top box. That's the Bose 3-2-1. It's perfect for small-medium rooms where you want Bose sound quality minus the bulky Acoustimass. Supposedly this baby simulates 5 speaker surround with only 2 speakers and a subwoofer, who can really tell in a small room, but a neat trick nontheless. You definitely get superb sound with no distortion as Bose is known for. This small system delivers big sound when you need it, and of course the small form factor means it doesn't hog a lot of physical space or require long cable runs to the other end of your room. One caveat here is the subwoofer is quite long, true smaller than the Acoustimass, but still a bit of a challenge to hide in small spaces. Oh, and the DVD player and remote are better than you will find elsewhere. If you want premium sound and something you can tuck away, you can always get a soundbar - but the 3-2-1 includes a DVD player, AM/FM stereo, and A/V receiver so you can connect your hi-def, iPod, etc. Genius!"

What's great about it: simple cables, great sound!
What's not so great: a little expensive, only one dvd dics
"At first I was looking for a home theater system around $300. Then a sales reps showed me the Bose System. At first I didn't think I would go for it because I just thought two speakers wasn't going to do the job...... well I was wrong! When you are watching a movie and you get to the good part, you feel it! I love the sound of it. I love th neat cable. I just love the system. I recommend it!"

no fuss simulated surround

What's great about it: bose name, compact, easy to use
What's not so great: no real surround sound experience, bose brand is more pricey
"I purchase this Bose 3-2-1 GS system a year ago and was impressed with how it sounded in the store and also impressed with how compact it looked. It's not true surround sound because you don't have the rear speakers; however, you also don't have excess speaker wires running throughout the room either. For me, this is the perfect speaker system because I was not planning on mounting speakers on the wall and tunnelling wires to create a surround system. If you expect true surround sound, you will be disappointed. But if you are wanting a simulated surround sound without the fuss of wiring and an easy to use and compact system, than you may enjoy this. It has the Bose name so you're paying more than if you bought a less popular brand but overall I think it's worth it."

What's not so great: no HDMI output
"The Bose 321 is a great buy for a simple yet loud surround sound system. It only has two speakers and a subwoofer which is perfect if you don’t like wires running all threw your room. The 321 system is also a DVD player. The 321 also has a component output for HD but it doesn’t have a HDMI output. The 321 packs a powerful sound in its little speakers which make this a great buy."

What's great about it: Pretty good sound
What's not so great: Not as good as I thought
"This is a good system. However, it does not sound half as good as it does in the store. The system is perfectly configured in the store to sound just awsome. I beleive even the sound is specially selected for demonstration. I just bought the system and if it had sounded like this at the store, I would probably not have been tempted to spend a thousand dollars. Do not get me wrong though. It is a pretty good sytem. Just sounds twice as good in the store."

"I was looking for a non-complicated good quality sound home theater system, took almost a year of reading reviews, comparing products, listening and listening... by far the Bose 321 system excelled compare to other brands offering similar benefits (no wires all over the house or the need to hide them and of course superb sound)."

Perfect Buy For Me
09/14/2007

"I was looking for a home theatre system that would be easy to set up, deliver great sound, and be unobtrusive in my living room. I found the perfect fit with this BOSE system. I just bought a house, have 2 small children, and a wife who was not crazy about hooking up surround sound in our home. I had a 5.1 surround sound system in our previous home and she could not stand the speaker stands, wall mounts, and wires run underneath couches and rugs. I purchased the BOSE 3 2 1 about a week ago and I am thrilled with it. The sound is great. It is clean and crisp at low and high volumes. I did not expect true surround sound and I actually lowered my expectations because my living room is big. The BOSE 3 2 1 surpassed my expectations. It sounds great, it looks stylish, and myself and my wife are thrilled with it. I would reccommend this product wholeheartedly. I use the DVD player for movies and I also play my 360 thru the BOSE 3 2 1. My son watches the Wiggles and Thomas the Train and he dances to the music. Thank you BOSE."

Excellent sound without all the hassle

"You get that awesome Bose sound quality for a low price. System could have a better equalizer, just has bass/treble +/-. HDMI connection would be nice too. But since sound is what matters most I gave a 5 star rating. Very easy system to connect without all the hassle of a full surround system (wires, side/rear speakers). If you just want better sound without the hassle this the system for you. If you want true surround sound then go with a 5.1 or 7.1 setup."
