Fresh new start for Spider-Man

This reboot of the Spider-Man franchise is a fun start to what I hope will be a series of several more movies. Much of the plot will be familiar to anyone who's seen 2002's Spider-Man, but all new actors and some new ideas make this a fresh comic book movie that is worth checking out. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are the best part of the film, and the action is fun to watch.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: A Great 3-D action Movie
Spiderman is Amazing in 3D. Lots of eye Popping 3-D and a Great action movie. Everyone loves Spiderman, but in 3-D this movie is AMAZING!!

What's great about it: Emma Stone
I enjoyed the first 3 spider man movies. I loved Sam Raimi first 3 spidermans. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone do not disappoint in this reboot, but I felt like I was watching the first movie again, just different roads were taken in this. Very good nonetheless.

What's great about it: The cast
What's not so great: Familiar story beats
The Amazing Spider-Man is a reboot of the Spider-Man, it is different enough from the previous trilogy but a lot of the same story beats are seen here. The cast does a wonderful job with the material here, and I would argue are better cast than the previous trilogy. I will say that I am a fan of the previous trilogy and in many ways prefer the previous trilogy, but this movie does stand on its own and will go in different directions in future sequels. Overall, a worthwhile experience for anyone interested in the Spider-Man mythos.

What's great about it: Action scenes are great in 3D
What's not so great: I prefer the Peter Parker from older versions of Spiderman
This was a fun movie to watch at home with my new 3D TV and active 3D glasses. Spiderman seemed to swing right towards me in a few scenes. And it seemed as if his web shot right out into our room. Fun story, even though I prefer the older versions.

What's not so great: That I have to stop the movie to engage in real life (uh, joke ;))
I read the reviews here before I bought the movie and felt I owed it to others to add my comments.
If you have a 3D TV, this is an absolute "MUST HAVE"!
I was very impressed with the cinematography and I really like the direction the story line is headed.
You won't be disappointed!

What's great about it: The movie is awesome.
What's not so great: The 3D disc will not play in my player.
I gave this set 4/5 stars because the 3D disc will not play in my Samsung 3D blu-ray player (late 2011 model). I did some searching online and it seems I am not the only customer with this problem. I downloaded the latest firmware for my player and it still would not play. You can't get past a warning screen with that disc. I tried watching the 2D disc and simulating 3D using my TV's function but that did not give great results.
Not sure who is to blame here, WB or Samsung. I'll have to wait until I get a new 3D blu-ray player....whenever that is.
The movie is great, though. I got more out of it at home than in the theater the first time. There are some good special features that help you understand why the producers went for a re-boot instead of a sequel.
I would recommend this to a friend!
