Good - But Overpriced

What's great about it: Bass Resonates in large room
What's not so great: Definition is terrible for this price range
"Purchased this unit on sale price for $279 and I still think its overpriced.
Please note that I really tested this for MUSIC not home theatre. The power is substantial, its very clear, no distoration but the definition is poor even at the price I paid. I confirmed the poor definition after listening to a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song and noticed the bass line was not well defined like I was used too. So I then put the CD in my bookshelf stereo and that produced a better defined bass! What? Its a $300 JVC bookshelf stereo, that just shouldn't happen. I ended up getting the Definitive Technology ProSub 800 (kept all my settings the same) and wow, that thing was like gold. The bass rolled off perfectly with great definition. The unit is half the size of the Klipsh Sub 10 too! I played some Jay Z and Outkast and the Klipsh did well but as soon I played anything with a guitar bass line it just wasn't defined...so for rock music I would highly advise getting this unit, ecspecially at this price point. Receiver is a Yamaha V663, loudspeakers are ProMonitor 800."

What's great about it: The real-life cinema feeling.
What's not so great: People want to use it as a seat !
"After a couple of plugs and a receiver config, I couldn't help but watch Transformers on Blu-ray and tell myself I will never go to the cinemas again. Crisp sound with deep clear rumble. My only recommendation is to have speakers that are not so heavy, or have no grip on a shelf or something secured, I lost one.
Also, like any other system, poor sound quality DVD's like 20th Century Fox the sub definitely should be turned down a notch or two. If you are a gamer you will enjoy your friends telling you that you ruined for them at home."

What's great about it: Amazing sound, easy set-up, auto on/off feature
What's not so great: it's big.
"Overall, this speaker is great! It's totally worth the money we spent on it. It's amazingly clear and plenty powerful enough to match my RF-1 fronts and RC-1 center. It did take a little while to get it dialed in on the cut-off frequency and volume, but the time spent was totally worth it. It filled our fairly large (25x27) living room with a smooth deep bass throughout the room, not just at the "optimal position". People commented on it's sound with music, my response is that they've got it turned up too much or the cut-off is not properly set. I did experience this at first, but when I spent a little more time on getting it dialed in, that all went away and it now sounds great for TV, Movies, and Music.
It is pretty large, so get ready to find a proper place for it. Also, go ahead and spend the extra money on a Monster Sub cable. With this sub you can instantly tell the difference.
All in all, I can't find anything negative to say about this sub and would HIGHLY recommend this to someone with tower speakers powerful enough to accompany it and not get overpowered. I would not recommend it to someone with bookshelf speakers, it is just too powerful."

What's great about it: Its a very powerful solid clean bass, very easy setup
What's not so great: Nothing!!!!!!!!
"This subwoofer shakes my whole home, it has so much power that I have to put it in a carpet below it because he moves too much and the gain power is in the middle I don't want to know what happens if I put it in max. My room is 18 x 14 and this subwoofer shakes the whole room very easy. I bought it in the Black Friday for $229.00 and trust me you wont regret it. I highly really recommend you to buy it. I just saw The Dark Knight in my blu-ray player and this subwoofer leaved me BREATHLESS!!!!! They say that Bose is the best but I respectfully disagree. My dad its a Bose fan and he always told me to buy a Bose but when he heard it now he wants to buy another one. Now he is a Klipsch fan. lol"

What's great about it: Room shaking bass just like the theater, good frequency response

"This sub is really powerful! I was debating on whether to go with the Sub 10 or spend the extra hundred bucks for the Sub 12. I have quickly realized that this sub is more than enough! I have it paired with two Klipsch Icon Vf 35 towers, klipsch Icon Vc 25 center, and four Klipsch Synergy III S1s. It matches quite well and sounds incredible! It's an awesome 7.1 setup. The sub itself has a great frequency response from 40 hz to 120 hz. This means that it will cover all the lows and not just some. This sub is well equipped to work with big towers as fronts, or something like the Klipsch Quintett system. Overall I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. I would have to agree however with another review that the front light is too bright. It's a bright blue and when all the lights are off it is really bright! That's why I gave it a four on appearance. But it is a minor detail that I can deal with. Other than that I have no complaints whatsoever. I am very impressed!"

What's great about it: Shakes my whole entertainment room when it's blasted, awesome bass tones.

I just recently purchased this subwoofer, along with the Quintet III satellite speakers and Icon floor speakers. All I can say is that I now know that I had never actually heard any of my music, or movies before now.

The bass delivered from this powerful sub is enough to rattle my dvds off their shelves and shake the chair I'm sitting in! Action sequences in movies are a hundred times more intense, video games are so much easier to get into to, and music is so much more crisp and thunderous!

For the price, you really aren't going to get a better quality sub, and even if you could, why waste all that money when this one would rival them for half the price. I highly recommend this sub to anyone who enjoys high quality sound, but doesn't want to spend a million dollars on their system."

"I wrote an earlier review, but I guess it got lost. I ended up buying these on sale plus getting the $250 bundle discount with Yamaha, for a total savings of $430. I also bought the Quintet III 5 speaker system. I am very happy with the SUB-10 For the money, I dont think it can be beat."

"I have had this sub for quite a while now and it does a good job with movies but gets a little muddy with music.I play bass and it bothers me but for someone who isn't concentrating on the music as I do it might not be a problem.I watched Gladiator last night and it was awesome,it has nore than enough power for my living room and will move things off shelves and walk across the floor if you let it. I read the reviews about the amps but I haven't had any problems at all.The only reason for the 4 stars with sound is the music issue I have.I have it hooked to an Onkyo receiver wth Bose 301's and a Samsung 50 inch plasma through DirecTv HD Awesome!!!!!I'm thinking about getting another one for the other side of the room."

What's great about it: Great subwoofer for the $$$price completely fills my home theatre room w/ rich bass
What's not so great: It is not the most aesthetic if you have to put it in the front of your theatre room
"If you have a small theatre room like me (12x15) this sub will definitely do the job for movies. Deep rich bass that seems omnipresent. It is a great complement to in-wall speaker systems and tight spaces. It has great power that keeps up well with movies. If you want to listen to music a lot with this sub you will have to use the rear adjustments between movies and music for optimal sound. Great sub for the price."

"I purchased this with my receiver and and surround sound speakers. With the right movie/ t.v. show this thing rumbles. I like the fact the sub is enclosed and looks discreet. Purchase the Monster cable for subs because they have the splitter to combine the left and right output from the sub to one channel to the receiver."

"I hooked this SW up too my Yamaha tuner and Klipsch Quintet II speakers. The first thing I watched was Apocalypse Now due to the phenominal 5.1 sound. The subwoofer is tremendous. You can have it as loud or as subtle as you want and it doesnt distort. Hook up was a breeze via a single "SW cable" (not supplied). I'm not a tech head but I had no problems putting it all together.
The sub has its own power supply which is an absolute must have from a power set up standpoint.
Just a side note.... all these components are only as good as the bit in the middle (the tuner) and the amount of power that it can push to the individual parts. Once you have it all set right this sub will last you a long long long time before you outgrow it.
I WOULD buy this product again if I had too."
