What's great about it: Absolutely nothing.
What's not so great: Everything.
What a waste. Even after contacting support and getting "precise" instructions, it ruined two DVDs, would not recognize them. Support decided not to contact me back the second time around. I lost $80.00 dollars on this product ( product plus 2 DVDs). Save your money.

What's great about it: Price, compact size
What's not so great: Has a hole for storing one of the two cloths, which is great, but left the other cloth and bottle loose.
We had the manual disc cleaners you had to hand crank. The kids were racking up scratched discs, so I wanted an automated cleaner. Keep the instructions-there is a sequential process that must be followed; keep away from kids unsupervised use, since one bottle is cleaner and one is for disc repair.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just be aware that the item shown in the pictures is not what you'll be getting. I bought the item thinking it was as shown in the pictures: the orange wheel that is suppose to clean 50 disc (this description is from Amazon) and the box shown says it has the adapter included. What I received was one with a purple wheel that cleans 25 discs (this description is from Amazon) and was in a different box that states no adapter included. To be fair, the product description says no adapter included and they do have small writing under product description that states "Product images, including color, may differ from actual product appearance." The discrepancy was large and I think the pictures should be changed to cause less confusion. I haven't tried the machine yet so I can't review how it performs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Perfect fix for me on the first try, cheap, efficient, pretty effective
What's not so great: Little confusing, two bottles seem identical, READ THE MANUAL
A fantastic product, Digital Innovations SkipDR AUTOMAX is a fantastic piece of tech to repair your CD or DVD. I had a copy of Halo 3 that I had tried EVERYTHING to get working for the last 4 YEARS, but I finally buckled and bought this product, despite many fellow gamers saying that it didn't work.
Now, I don't know if they didn't do it properly, had the manual version or if they legitimately had bad products, but after reading the instructions CAREFULLY (and applying slightly more cleaning fluid than was required, as that was apparently a noted issue with previous consumers), I was able to clean that copy of Halo 3 perfectly, and now I can finally play the trilogy with my fiance! This was well worth the money, and I'm now planning on investing in some more flex wheels and cleaning spray to retain my video games for even longer!
PS, in case the manual is a bit confusing, you clean it VERY well, then spray it strongly with the liquid, run it for two revolutions through the machine (make sure it goes all the way in, you might need to push a little bit), and then buff VERY WELL (buffing shouldn't scratch it, so buff your heart out). If you don't buff, you're going to have issues.

We have already repaired 10 dvd's and 5 games, saving ourselves at least $100 in replacement costs. Best value purchase in quite a while.

so easy to use my 5 year old can use it. It just takes a couple of sprays of the water and works great. Has saved me a ton of money and alot of grief from a screaming kid

I haven't tried it yet, partly because the cleaning solution was missing. The box clearly had a space for it but there was no solution. I was also hoping this would work for all discs but the instructions says not for use on Bluray discs (I don't remember that this was described in the product details). I'm already skeptical that this would work but I have to find another cleaning solution to use with this first. Tried to call Customer Service to let them know but I was tired of waiting after 15mins of being on hold.

neat gadget, works ok.. removed or at least buffed out a couple deep scratches in a favorite cd so it is playable again..

It will not work on very badly scratched discs. I had one that would not play and ran it through the machine and played like new. Pays for itself quickly. Will save 99% of disc that wont play, Item description on bestbuy said it did not come with power cord but it is included. Would not recomend to run on batteries.

What's great about it: it does what it says it supposed to.
What's not so great: the polishing discs could last longer
I have been using skip dr's under various names and styles for more than ten years. First of all I recomend the powered model not the manual one. The skip dr will work for any cd/dvd or like disc as claimed by the manufacturer as long as the disc is not too severely damaged. One thing that I have found however is that it can take longer to fix scratches than manufacturer says. Also, I use distilled water and rubbing alcohol about a 30% alcohol mix. If you are having trouble with radial scratches from the skip dr. use extra water to help polish them away, just hold the machine so water drips out away from the machine and off the disc. If you get too much water inside the machine the water will corrode inside the machine. Although radial scratches won't affect performance of a disc in most cases. also, there will be some discs that will appear perfectly smooth but yet will not play.

I bought this product from best buy because my xbox360 mysteriously scartch my game while the system was laydown flat and it happen during game play thats the first time it ever happen to me but anyways this product is awsome it did not only fix my game that was scartch by xbox360 but it also fix my other games that my newphew had scartch too awsome product for a okay price

I bought this item 3-15-11 and returned it for a full refund on the same day. I followed the instructions EXACTALY on several DVD's that "stuck" and "froze up" in spots. After THREE TRYS ON THREE DIFFERENT DISCS it DID NOT WORK AT ALL. Dont wast your time & effort buying this item.

I had several CD's that skipped when played so I bought this unit to fix them. The first attempt at cleaning did not work. The second attempt just made the disk worse. Not worth the money.

Its a Christmas tradition at my house for at least one thing to get broken before Christmas day is over. This year the kids scratched their Dance Central game by almost dropping the Xbox. I found this product online, read reviews, and went to buy it at my local Best Buy. I got the version that does include an AC cord. And much to my surprise, it worked. The game had a circular scratch on half of the disc and would not play at all. I ran it through twice and it started up but the game froze while playing it. I ran it through two more times and now it plays like new. The scratch is now barely visible on the disc. I suspect if I ran it through a few more times, it would probably disappear altogether. I highly recommend this product if you have children. You will make your money back and then some if you fix at least two games. I'm going to try this on some other CDs and DVDs. I bought this primarily to fix this one game but I'm glad I did because now I have some recourse instead of rebuying $50 games. But just as a note, look for the version that says that the AC cord is included. If not, you'll have to buy one separate.

I have to say I was extremely skeptical about buying this product. I had read the reviews and just wasn't sure. But I had purchased a complete tv series on Ebay for $50 and the series was $300.00 new. The discs came and they were HORRENDOUSLY scratched to the point 30 of the 54 wouldn't play. This machine works exactly as promised. Some discs require more then one run through but it works everytime. You are a little nervous when you pull it out and there are "sand" swirls on the disc, but with some buffing they lighten up. They don't completely disappear but they don't affect the playback. BUY IT! It saved me almost $300.00 in a matter of an hour.
I would recommend this to a friend!
