What's great about it: easy setup
"This is my first wireless router and I've owned it fo 6 months now with no problems. The range on this is great, I can go out to my garage about 100 feet away and still get 2-3 bars. I have an older 40's house so inside the house it can be iffy. But I mostly use my laptop in the next room soo really this is not a problem. There is a switch on the back if you want to turn the blinking lights off also."

What's great about it: Great range and fast connection
What's not so great: Issues connecting
"This wireless router is great. Comes with everything you need to connect one computer on a hard line. Only issue was that my computer had a hard time loading all the saftware and I had to do it manually to secure my network. And not so bad for the price to the $10 less that a much slower router costs."

What's great about it: Very easy to set up....15 minutes max! Vista was no problem.
What's not so great: Seems sort of slow at times
"I like the ease of installation! The main complaint is that for a router that is supposed to have great range, it doesn't seem so great to me. I had a D-Link before this one, and it was faster with better range. The only problem was that the D-Link would only connect to 1 wireless device at one time, so I replaced it with this one. I don't know, maybe I am just focusing on this ones performance too much. Overall, I do like it and I would recommend it to others. I like having the option to stand it up one end; it hides behind my monitor and takes up hardly any room."

What's great about it: Decent price, great coverage area.
What's not so great: Nothing that would make me not buy this product.
"I bought this so we could set up a wireless network in our home. 2 laptops, 1 desktop, and a network printer. This router works flawlessly. I can work on my laptops from anywhere on my property (.25 acres). I'm very pleased with the performance. Security functions are solid. No complaints. I went with Netgear because a friend with extensive computer expertise recommended it."

What's great about it: great for multiple users...
What's not so great: the blue light
"If you are looking for a router for multiple users and possibly some gaming, this Mimo G router from Netgear is a solid purchase! Myself and 2 other family members currently use this router and they have been very impressed with the coverage and performance. I own a PS3 and do wireless networking with this router and play online games like COD4 and COD world at war and I always have a very good connection. If you do any online game with your PC, xbox 360, or PS3....this is the lowest end router you wanna go with. If you have multiple users in your house, and have more than 3 devices that are gonna be connected to this router, you may want to go with the performance of an N router from either Linksys or Netgear!"

What's great about it: Nothing!
What's not so great: The instructions!
"I bought this because I heard Net Gear was easy to use. This is not the case for this router however! The instructions, which are only the CD and not in print, make no sense. I tried hooking it up the way the directions showed, and it didn't work. So I tried hooking it up every way possible, and it still told me no connection was available! It's going back tomorrow!"

What's not so great: Nothing yet!
"I have tried several routers both at home in NY and at school in MA, but this is the first that I have not had a problem with in either location! I have not lost a connection while using the wireless, and the speed is just as fast as when I'm plugged in! I'e had this router for a few months now, and so far it's great!! No issues to report :)"

"My Netgear is 3 weeks old. I purchased it for two main reasons. The SPI (stateful packet inspection) feature and the logging feature... where it automatically logs all web sites visited by the computers on the network (my kids) . It also sends logs to a designated email address. This allows me to review what website they went to. I could have easily used the site blocking feature on the router, but chose not to. The router is extremely easy to set up. Even mac address filtering was very simple. The wireless signal was very strong, allowing my laptop to work from my neighbor's patio. The router worked for about 6 days straight without incident. Then, every day when I would arrive home from work, the router had crashed, and my family would not have internet access while I was at work. Every time, a simply unplug of power, wait 30 seconds and plug power back in and router was fine for the evening. This happened for about 10 days straight. To insure it was the router and not my cable modem, I removed the Netgear and installed my old Belkin router, and it work flawlessly for the next four days. The Belkin did not offer the logging and site blocking features the Netgear offered. I re-installed the Netgear and again, every day it crashed and everyday I had to reboot it when arriving home. Emails to their overseas tech support brought solution suggestions that did not address the issues I had enetered on their support website. They finally said to call their tech support. I called. Three straight evenings of try this and that, then try downloading new firmware then reset default values.. Hours of my time, but nothing would work. They finally said to RMA it... but at my shipping expense and a total delay of over two weeks without the product.. or, I could pay 16.95 for expedited service for a product that did not work. I refused to pay expedited shipping when their product was at fault. Had they paid I would have used the RMA. Instead, back to the big box store it goes. I have had other Netgear routers twice before many years ago. Their products, I felt, used to be superior. Now their product quality and overseas tech support is abysmal. I assure you...its replacement will no longer bear the Netgear name."

What's great about it: Extremely fast data transmission, no dropped wireless signals, known brand, very easy to install
What's not so great: Doesn't have a place to install an antenna signal booster
"I have DSL and prior to this router, I had a combined router/modem that would constantly drop my wireless signals and crash. Finally it burned out so I did some research and found a modem that was supposedly compatible with a router by one of the companies that competes with Netgear. I tried for three days to set up a network and it would not work. Finally, I gave up and took the other router back to Best Buy. The people at the customer service desk were so nice; they gave me a credit towards the purchase of a different router. I decided to go with the Netgear RangeMax 802.11g Wireless Router and boy am I glad I did. It is well worth the extra money as it is a little pricier. The signal strength is extremely strong and I'm able to use my laptops from the other end of my house as well as outside. Also, this router can handle multiple devices at once at high speeds without freezing up. I have one desktop computer and three laptops and have had no issues. The thing I like most though was the ease of setup. All I had to do was pop in the disc it came with and it did the rest; it detected my internet, set up all my encryption keys, etc. Best router I have ever had and would definitely buy again."

What's great about it: Easy to configure and setup
What's not so great: Parental Controls feature disabled
"This router is easy to configure and setup. I performed the setup manually (without any automated wizard config) because I've had extensive experience with networking. Performance has been very good with numerouse devices configured (laptop, PC, XBOX360, PDA, and printer). I was disappointed however, that the parental control feature (which required a extra fee anyway) was disabled and no longer supported."

What's great about it: Price
What's not so great: died after 60 days
"I went looking for a new wireless router and was looking at an N router after about 45 minutes of standing around waiting for some help I was finally talked into this router...
the nice part was that I took it home plugged it in and it worked without any setup ( vista ultimate 64 )
works through out the house. in the basement out by the pool and upstairs...
everything was going great till in the middle of running reports this evening the thing just died.. I mean literally died.... finally had to take my entire network down and plug my modem in to my PC direct.....
what a pain.....
will be returning tomorrow, and will be getting that N router after all"

What's great about it: Looks cool
What's not so great: Really buggy
"I'm not sure how anyone could rate this router highly. Setup is relatively easy. After configuring the router using the wizard, upgrading the firmware to the latest os, and setting up security to match my old 802.11b Netgear wireless router I noticed that my WiFi connection reset every 45-60 seconds. Knowledge base gave a few suggestions including changing the channels (tried all 11) and setting the mtu size to 1400 on your wifi card. Nothing I tried work. After tinkering with the bad boy for a while I decided I'd hookup my old Netgear wireless router (which actually works) and return this one to BestBuy."
