nice desige on the carpet brush easy to get the hair off with a knife nice with a house full of girls and a dad that has to fix everything...
What's great about it: sucksion
What's not so great: alot of plastic parts maybe easy to brake we will see.

I have many friends who own this machine. I have waited patiently for it to go on sale. Today was that day. I was the first in the door to buy. The assembly was a piece of cake. My carpet looks as good as the day I had it installed (6 years ago). WOW!!! This machine picks up things I never realized were there.Although I'm glad I got it on sale, I would pay full price for this extraordinary machine. If you live by a Best Buy... don't wait... go get it NOW!!!!
What's great about it: Beats all other of the top brands hands down!
What's not so great: Nothing. It ROCKS!!

This is by far the best Vacuum I've ever owned. You'd be surprised how much debris sits a top your carpet. To the naked eye, the carpet look clean. Run the Dyson over it and you'll be astonished as towards how much dirt this vacuum sucks up!!! Also the noise level is half of what a conventional vacuum sounds like. Go for it!!!

The set up out of the box was SUPER fast and easy. It took less than 2 minutes and I didn't need any instructions to help!
I LOVE the hose and how easy it is to use! I'm vacuuming my couches everyday because it's SO EASY! The attachments that come with it are amazing!!
We have brand new carpet and I was afraid it would seem like it was ripping fibers out of the carpet and make the canister fill quickly, but not so! It picks up the dirt, dust, cat hair, and kid crumbs and leaves my carpet in tact looking beautiful!!
The hose is small enough to fit UNDER the couch and thus I don't have to move around my furniture just to make sure everything is getting picked up!!
I seriously seriously heart my Dyson.
What's great about it: I LOVE it!

Simply put I have the Dyson and a $69.00 Hoover. The hoover picks up so much better than the Dyson that the Dyson sits in a closet looking pretty and unused. If there is a little cat litter on the floor the Dyson just spits it behind it where the Hoover sucks it right up.
What's great about it: Looks Pretty
What's not so great: Doesn't vacuum carpet well

Product does what is stated to do. It cleans up dirt. Suction is of high quality. Compared to recent vacuums that I've had it beats them all.
What's great about it: does what is supposed to do. Advertising states easy use and good cleaning and it does just that

The is such a great vacuum! Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law have one and highly recommended it. We bought a off brand vacuum 2 yrs ago that compared itself to a Dyson but was just slightly cheaper and it pooped out already (that's what I get for being cheap). I think I will be a Dyson owner for life. It really does an exceptional job. Well worth the money!!
What's great about it: The rediculous amount of dirt it picks up
What's not so great: no complaints

This is a great vacuum that works very well. It is not too heavy and the wand, at first, was hard to get used to using, but find that it does a great job and reaches all of the stairs without having to lug the vacuum up each step. Overall, great vacuum that is pretty quiet and cleans very well.
What's great about it: Great suction, easy to use
What's not so great: using the wand is a little different, but adaptable

I have had a Dyson (2002) for seven years and it's finally to where it doesn't suck very well and wand won't stay on. So, I bit the bullet and bought the same model I had.
It was a shock - the quality has been significantly reduced. The plastic is thinner, cheaper and more likely to break. It doesn't seem like it even sucks as well. It doesn't even tip very well to go over the cord - I'm afraid I'll break it!
Very, very disappointed.
What's great about it: Still has good suction
What's not so great: The quality of the construction has gone down - cheap plastic
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My other vacuums had a sponge like filter that would have to be cleaned after every cleaning or the suction would cut down by over 50%. It was more work than cleaning. Emptying the canister was no problem but the filters were a pain. Dyson has the extra filters but seems to devert the fine dust into the canister were it belongs. The suction never seems to give out and my carpets look great. These vacuums are worth the extra money just to cut down on the aggrivation of changing and cleaning filters. My carpets look fluffy.
What's great about it: No filters to constantly clean!!!!!!
What's not so great: Extention handle is awkward to retrieve.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just returned the Dyson DC14 after 1 week of use...piece of junk! I read all of the hype of the Dyson type cleaners, so I got one...and hated it!
1st, it didn't clean my carpet even half as much as the junk Hoover it was replacing. I had to go over the carpet 3 times in order to get half as much dirt out. My Hoover was bagless too, so I was able to see the dirt it picked up.
2nd, you have to shut the vacuum off then manually adjust a switch near the bootm of the cleaner when you go from carpet to bare floor. What a pain in the &*%! If you have a throw rug at your door for your kids to use when they get their snow boots off...you can't vacuum that because the cleaner makes a terrible grinding noise.
3rd, it is made out of super cheap plastic, just like the toys McDonalds gives in their kids meals.
4th, the attachments are junk. The brush bristles are are only 1/16th" long....what can you dust with that?!

I have been through 3 "pet" vacuums - from Bissell & Dirt Devil. I returned the Dirt Devil because I spilled I flour onto my carpet and all it did was spread it around. I came back with the Dirt Devil - it worked ok. Even then a few months later - the Dirt Devil broke twice. My mom bought me a Dyson because the Dirt Devil finally broke and I have not vacuumed my floor in about 2 months AND I have a long haired cat. The Dyson is just amazing. My carpet looks like it did when I first moved in. It's fluffy and it removed the fibers that stick up from it. My cat enjoys laying on the carpet now since I vacuum every other day. I thought I would be disappointed since I have a cat and didn't get the Animal Dyson, but just the DC14 version is just as great. I would imagine the Animal would be even better! I used all the attachments - I cleaned my fireplace (left over ashes), my AC vents which has cat hair I could never remove, and I also vacuumed my microfiber furniture, celing fans, and the ceiling using the attachments for each. With my other vacuums it would seem as though I lost suction by using the attachments but with the Dyson it has even more concentrated suction with the attachments. I hated vacuuming my ceiling fans because the dust would just end up falling. If the dust fell when vacuuming the Dyson is so powerful all the dust would end up going into the hose. Nothing fell down or got in my eyes! It comes with 3 attachments which are the perfect designs for each! The best part is - when vacuuming my carpet floor - the Dyson is not loud. I thought it would sound like a jet, but it's my quietest vacuum to date. I could hear what my mom was saying without yelling back and forth - or stopping and I could still hear the TV. I was going to get a Shark due to the price, but I am so glad my mom surprised me with a Dyson vacuum. The 3 vacuums I bought costed even more than the Dyson. I really should have bought a Dyson in the first place. My mom is impressed with the Dyson as well - and she's had a Kirby vacuum forever. She plans on getting a Dyson now. Her Kirby came with 8 different attachments, it's loud, and it doesn't clean as well as the Dyson. She has a bad back and was vacuuming with the Dyson just fine, and this Dyson is not self propelled version either. I just can't find enough things to vacuum now. I will never go back to any other vacuum brand. I can't wait until I get the hand held Dyson!

I owned the purple version for animals and it was the same vacuum different color but actually has more airwatts (suction power) then the others out there. My animal one died at about 4 years old. This one cost less and works excellent! I remembered this time to register it for warrantly also. I also tried the lastest blue print and air muscle and returned both! The hose on them was inferier and I couldn't suck up anything without and attachment on he hose so I set out to find the highest airwatts and something like my old vac they don't sell anymore and here it is! The hose is awesome! I breed and rescue animals so I need a heavy duty vacuum for tons of fur and even cleaning up pine and cedar shavings which can clog most vacuums. Plus my son has black carpet which shows everything that collects on it! I highly recommend this vacuum compared to newer models and the price is much better! Totally worth the price even if it only lasts 4 years again as we break other brands in less then a year due to the shear use we put it through!
What's great about it: Powerful suctions and great for people with pets!
What's not so great: It's not the lightest vacuum

I have had this vacuum for over a year now and it works as great as the day I brought it home. I have 2 dogs and a few days between vacuuming is noticible. We had a bissell pet vacuum which had to be taken back 2 separate times to be replaced. The third time I brought it back they didn't have that vacuum any more and put the credit towards any new vacuum I wanted. I practically stole this vacuum! We clean our carpets every 6 months because they just get filthy with dog messes and spills and I have noticed that the water from the steamer is a lot cleaner than with the previous vacuum. It is so easy to use the extension hose it just snaps right out. After using this dyson I will never use another brand again.
What's great about it: How clean your carpet gets

Wonderfully engineered piece of machinery. This is a great vacuum cleaner for tech and engineering geeks. It is amazing to see what two dogs, a cat and four kids leave behind (though a little gross too).
What's great about it: amazing suction and cleaning power, great intuitive features
What's not so great: high profile in front makes some areas inaccessible without attachments

I've had this vacuum for 2 years now and it still works just like new. No loss of suction which I experienced with my last upright bagless. One of the best parts is that the hose actually has a lot of suction and extends pretty far so I don't have to haul the whole vacuum up and down the stairs. The cord is long so I only have to plug it in once for each level of my home. I often switch on the fly while it is running from bare floors to carpet to hose so the ease of use is really great. I also love the little edge brush that comes out the side so I can go along walls with it. The only annoying thing is that the front is so big, it won't fit under the counters, so when vacuuming the kitchen, I always have to finish by using the wand. I do have a long-haired cat so sometimes I wish I would have gotten the "animal" version (DC17) of this but it will pick up quite a lot of hair.
What's great about it: Long cord, easily switches from hardwood to carpet floors, emptys easily, tools onboard
What's not so great: Too big to fit under counters

I did a lot of research to replace my GE that I have now.. I couldn't find a better vacuum cleaner than this one. The first time after the box, I used it near my kitchen which is the high traffic area & I was amazed what I saw in the container. its got a lot of power but still smooth :). I got it when it went on sale for $340 & used all my rewardzone points & bought it finally for $200. Can't beat this deal :) but even for $400.00 its worth it..
What's great about it: Suction, Low noise, Bagless, Ease of cleaning & more
What's not so great: nothing so far...

I have seen my fair share of vacuums from those with bags to the great bagless era. My last vacuum a Hoover, piece of junk, died a week after the 1 yr. manufacturer warranty "SURPRISE." Yea I was pretty upset since I spent a pretty penny on it, so I decided to go with the best brand out there...Dyson. Once I decided I needed a Dyson, I had to pick a model and the DC 14 was perfect considering I don't have pets and would rather have a little more power than a vacuum that is a little easier to move around. Dyson, dust bunnies tremble when they hear this bad boy roar. It is pretty disgusting when you think a floor is clean and then you unleash the Dyson on it and long behold the Dyson is a quarter of the way full of dust. The only.....ONLY thing that was a little weird about this vacuum was the hose/handle comination....yea that took a little getting used to, but that wasn't enough to drop it a star on my review. Overall as long as this vacuum lasts 5 years (The manufacturer's warranty) it will have been the best dust bunny killing investment that I've ever made.
What's great about it: Powerful, Picks up much more dust than any other vacuum I've ever seen, easy to use
What's not so great: Has a little different organization than other vacuums
