Great buds for the price

What's great about it: Full sound, good bass, comfortable fit
What's not so great: buds slip off very easily, replacements impossible to find
"These are the only buds I buy. They have a great sound, not just for $20 buds either. Im sure they are no Shure...but come on...I loose and break ear buds every other month so a $200 pair is NOT an option for this guy. A small benefit is these are very shallow and fit under my motorcycle helmet very well. Given that fact, they still have the best Bass I've heard in anything under $100. The only gripe I have is that I loose the little silicone buds and they dont sell replacements that ive found."

What's great about it: Amazing sound quality
What's not so great: hurt my ears and popped right out of them
"Sound was amazing, but what good is that if they keep popping out of your ears and making them sore. They need to offer these with several different ear pieces. I think I tried using them for a week before giving up on them."

great headphones

What's great about it: GREAT sound, fit in my ears
What's not so great: one earbud broke
"I love these headphones! The sound is incredible and they are a good price. Earbuds usually hurt my ears and fall out, and so I was excited to find a pair that not only did not hurt my ears, but stayed in place. They slip out occassionally, but not often enough to be annoying. My only beef with them is that I'm on my way to buy my third pair, as one earbud stopped working. The first time, I was able to exchange them because I still had the packaging and receipt, and this time I don't, but they are still totally worth it."

Clean Your Ears!!

What's great about it: The sound is absolutely amazing for movies and music!
What's not so great: Could have better bass response.
"After reading multiple reviews where people complained about the ear buds not staying in their ears, I can only say this: CLEAN YOUR EARS!! I have had absolutely no problem with these staying in my ears at all, and several others will agree with me that these are quite comfortable. I think at first they are like new shoes: you have to give your ears a chance to get used to them. I first used them with a portable DVD player and I couldn't believe how awesome the sound was! It was like being in a theater, but with less bass. That's not to say these are completely treble-bound as they have an excellent balance of all frequencies. I have been playing guitar for over 26 years, and I'm one of the most picky musicians you will ever meet when it comes to sound. These Philips ear buds get my approval with an enthusiastic thumbs-up and a rousing standing ovation."

The best earbuds ever!

What's great about it: Everything.
"I bought my first pair years ago. They lasted about 2-3yrs before the sound started come and go because the wires were getting out of shape, so I bought another pair. I've had no problems keeping these in my ears, that's what the rubber is there for, and those stay on the earbuds just fine. One time I tried them while I worked out, they did fall out then. That's why I don't use them to work out (I've got other headphones for that). They fit perfectly in my ear. They're so comfortable, most of the time I don't even notice they're in my ears. The sound is great and can get nice and loud."

What use are headphones that don't stay in my ears

What's great about it: Sound, but no good if you can't keep in the ears
What's not so great: Won't stay in the ears!!!!
"Complete waste of money - fantastic sound, but what use is that if you can't even keep them in your ears?!!!!! I can't return them either as the box is made so that you can't try them out and reseal. Don't waste your money! Likelihood is that you'll have to bin them!! My husband, son and friend tried them and none of them could keep them in their ears."

Bulky and uncomfortable, but good sound quality.

What's great about it: Sound quality, bass, cord length
What's not so great: Don't stay in, too big for my ears
"Overall these ear buds are pretty good, but they could be much more comfortable. They plastic inserts that go into your ears are bulky and you almost have to force these in, or the ear budy fall right out.
With that said, the sound quality is the best i've ever heard from an ear bud headphone, which is why i'll be keeping mine."

What's great about it: Decent Sound
What's not so great: Won't stay in ears!!
"I bought these for my iPod after I lost the original headphones. They had great sound, and I was excited to use them for a run. They lasted for about 5 minutes before the left ear repeatedly came out. I thought maybe I put them in wrong, but after trying every way to put an earphone in, I gave up. If you aren't moving (say, on a flight), these headphones would be great, as the sound is pretty decent."

Above Average Headphones

What's great about it: Great sound, bass, durability
What's not so great: May not fit in other peoples' ears, may be uncomfortable
"I've owned many headphones thus far and I have to say this pair of earphones is probably in my top 3. I've had it for probably over a year by now. But, like all earphones, they definitely have their pros and cons.
First I'd like to say they have terrific sound quality. I'm very picky with the way my music sounds and these earphones seem to satisfy my pickiness. With my iPod's equalizer they're even better. They can reach a very high dB level (loudness) without ever cracking. Additionally I'd like to say they are extremely durable. I don't think I've ever owned a pair without breaking them within the first couple months. The cord has not broken. I've really put these earphones into a lot of turmoil! They've been in the washing machine and dryer several times. They've been tossed around and been hit on solid objects quite a bit. Even after being dipped (accidentally of course) in ice cold water they still work perfectly.
Then there are the cons. For many, these earphones may or may not fit in your ears. And even if they do fit they may not be comfortable. I wouldn't recommend these for working out as they will easily pop out. Also these earphones may be rendered completely useless if you lose the silicon gel ear-pieces that attach to them because they help the earphones to fit.
So overall, despite the cons, I think these headphones are great. Well worth your money, too. I've lost the earpieces so if I buy another pair I'll probably have to superglue the earpieces on lol"

What's great about it: great sound, great bass, cheap
What's not so great: plastic "cover" on the earbud
"These earbud headphones are the absolutely the best ear buds that you can buy in the "under $40" price range (that I know of). I searched for a long time for a good pair of ear bud headphones that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and at the same time would sound great and have high enough volume output that you can actually hear your music, and I found exactly that in these headphones. My only complaint is the plastic covers for the earbuds themselves which tend to fall off if you have used them a lot...small issue though. most bang for your buck with these."

What's great about it: sound amazing: loud and clear, light
What's not so great: had a hard time fitting in my ear, one ear bud blew out after 6 months
"although they only lasted me 6 months, those 6 months were some of the best sounding months with my ipod. i had recently received a ipod for my birthday and the sound on the apple headphones was horrible so i bought these Phillips ones. they were very clear and loud. when i turned up my music they didn't distort at all.i only had a hard time fitting them in my ear and they were sometimes uncomfortable. i finally figured out if if wrap them around my ear they fit better and felt better. to bad they broke..."

Disappointing

What's great about it: Great sound
What's not so great: They fall out of your ears easily
"I bought these earphones because the package said they won some kind of electronics award for best sound, but they have been a severe disappointment. The earphones barely stay in your ears while sitting still, much less when you are moving around. The sound is great, when you don't move at all. The sound is particularly loud, though; I have to turn the volume down on my computer to 5-10% in order to find a reasonable level. I would not recommend this product. Spend your money on something that will stay in your ears."

superior quality among this price point

What's great about it: great sound, comfortable, cord design
What's not so great: fall out at times
"These have superior sound quality when compared with other earbuds of similar price range. My only complaint is that the left side (primarily) and sometimes the right side fell out of my ears. I found this to occur mostly during periods of high activity. The bass, quality of sound, volume all are superior to other earbuds. I found the sound from these to be more realistic then from a higher priced noise canceling earbud (I think that was a Sony model). I would find a way to protect the cord as too many pulls at the gym started to make the cord attached to the sound jack come apart at the point the earbuds and jack cord meet. Sound quality was not affected but I would highly recommend protecting the cord from snagging or catching on anything. Regarding the "cord design" comment. The earbud cord is designed in such a way that allows the user to wear these around the neck. This allows the user to pull out one earbud and let it hang over the shoulder to speak on the phone or show someone he/she is listening without having to attach to a shirt or take both earbuds off. It's a convenient feature. Good product over all. I would recommend to friends and family"

What's great about it: Great sound, low price, quality.
What's not so great: Rubber sleeves easily pop off and not a good design for high activity.
"I bought my 2nd pair because both sets of the rubber sleeves fell off and they would be too painful to wear with out them (and I couldn't find replacements anywhere). I was able to use the 2nd set of sleeves on my old set for working out and the new set at the office... as I mention above, they sound great for around $20.
If you're just going to use them to listen at home, school, or the office, you can't go wrong, but I wouldn't recomend them for the gym as they do have a tendancy to fall out. Also, if you have small outer ears, don't get them."
