What's great about it: Easy to ret up All ready configured for Component cables
What's not so great: Glitch in start up program
"Bought a PS2, because of Sony killing backwards compatibility on the PS3.
The PS2 was easy to setup, normally the ps2 is set to use RGB cable and would have to set up component in the system settings. This model of the PS2 came with component( component cable sold separately ) and progressive scan on.
The only con of this model is when you turn it on and the Sony logo comes on the screen, the screen goes black, then distorts, then clears up.
Other then that no issues and PS2 and PS games play flawlessly."

What's great about it: great games available that are cheap
What's not so great: new good games like GTA 4 dont come out for ps2 anymore
"its actually more durable than the big original ps2, u could play for hours even though it doesnt have a fan like the big one. there have been days when i play at night and fall asleep without turning it off. i wake up in the morning press the start button and it still plays. it has never froze on me.
best bang for your buck. theres a bunch of games for the ps2 out there. and it plays dvs and cds what more do u want.
they still come out with some new games for the ps2 like nba 2k10
i love my playstation!"

What's great about it: small size
"This was an upgrade to replace our older, larger version of the Playstation 2. When we found out the latest version of the PS3 does not play the PS2 games, we immediately ordered a new PS2 so we could enjoy our PS2 games for a long time."

What's great about it: CAME WITH NO POWER BRICK!!! (didn't need it),Price, How small it is
What's not so great: NONE
"This is a GREAT console. it doesn't look like the one in the picture above, its a little more glossy black on the left side but looks better than the on in the picture above. (also have a picture of it to the right) The only 2 reasons I have gotten this console is because 1. PS3 doesn't have backwards compatibility and 2. my REALLY OLD PS2 finally died and i still like the PS2 games.
Have added pictures to the right of what the PS2 actually looked like and the size of it compared to a regular 40GB Playstation 3"

What's great about it: Love the backwards compatability for PS1 games, very slim and efficient
What's not so great: Awkward to hit power/disc eject buttons
"I purchased this PS2 Slim to replace my old PS2 whose laser reader had become damage and no longer able to detect my PS1 games or certain DVDs. When getting it, I was amazed at how small it actually was; I knew it would be smaller, but not barely taller than an inch. The fact that the only thing I'm giving up for it is a optional spot for a hard drive is moot; it's a wonderful investment for anyone who still plays PS2/PS1 games."

"I bougth this console on december 2008 for christmas gift.I'm very satisfied with the purchased,no complain of any kind,works great and video graphics are excellent.I'm still having my PS1,wich still working like the firts day,but i decided to buy the PS2 to get better graphics and new games that PS1 will never have.I also play movies and never had a problem reading."

A Real Gaming Console!

What's great about it: Game Selection, Affordability, Nice Design
What's not so great: Outdated Technology, Mediocre Graphics
"I had a PS2 Slim for several years. I did not have one problem with it. This is the great ideal behind a game console: Design something that works well & put a ton of games on it. I think this is where the new consoles have come short. The PS2 is a gaming machine period. That is why we buy game consoles. The PS2 is great system & I will miss it very much. I love the games on it: MGS, Gran Turismo, Ace Combat...these are just fine examples of a great library of games. It runs smoothly, simply, & has a great standard dvd player. Here is what I don't like, & its not the console's fault. Its just simply outdated & the games just don't look that great now, especially on HD TVs. If you still want to play those old games, the price is very affordable. It's still the console king in my book..."
