What's great about it: Capacity, interior light, reversible door hinge
What's not so great: Analog temp control, no door lock
After weeks of researching many major brands of wine coolers in the under $500 range, small to mid-size, capable of holding anywhere from 6 to 50 bottles of wine for the simple convenience of maintaining my small collection of wine and champagne in the 48°F to 55°F temperature range I came to only one conclusion.
It wasn’t as important to have a digitally controlled cabinet, as it was to maintain the desired temperature with dependability so analog temperature control was also considered. Other considerations for my wine cooler were reversible door hinge, pull out shelves, door lock and interior lighting.
The Danby DWC350BLP not only had the important features I wanted but pleasantly surprised me at the price point. It can’t be beat with a 35-bottle (3.2 cu ft) capacity, analog temp control, 7 plastic-coated wire pull out shelves, reversible door hinge and manual interior lighting. It doesn’t have digital temp control or a door lock but it was the most reasonable for the bottle capacity.
Even considering the highest/warmest temperature setting my Danby can achieve, which at it’s lowest analog dial setting is 45°F to 46°F ~ perhaps a little too cool for the richer reds in my collection but it is still better than subjecting them to dry storage here in Florida or the refrigerator.
I rated it at 4 stars because the SubZero is just about perfect however it’s also in the over $2k range! I’m very happy with the Danby DWC350BLP and would recommend it to anyone.

What's great about it: Good Price
What's not so great: Tempertaure Controls, Noisy, Freezes Up, Breaks Easily
I spent a long time looking for wine fridges and came across this Danby. I knew them as a realiable company and decided to get this as it was the best in its price range. It has lots of flexible storage space which is a plus, the door is reversible if you need to switch the side it opens up on and there is a light. While it kept my bottles chilled there were many problems with it.
There is no temperature control. Upon hanging a thermometer I would find the temperature fluctuated quite often which is not good for wines. The compresser was noisy, and upon defrosting it, the whole unit leakeed buckets and buckets of water. The instructions that came with the unit said this is self defrosting, yet they warn you to unplug it every once in a while. Then one day the entire back iced up and took days to defrost. I called Danby and they told me the best bet is to unplug it from time to time. What happened to self defrost?
The compresser and thermostat died just shy of 2 years of owning it. I called Danby and they told me to take it somewhere. I demanded they send a local repair person out. The repair person informed me he sees this happen to these units all the time and unfortunately some of the parts were not under the warranty. I called Danby back and they said I would just have to pay for it. I thought I might have a faulty unit but I know two other people with the same cooler and they too had many problems. I tossed it and got a model from a different manufacturer for $100 more with temp control and no problems.
If your looking for something that is cheap, you could get this however it won't last long. I suggest you spend a little more on a better model.

What's great about it: Reasonably priced
What's not so great: Warmest temp still too cold for red wine storage
The Danby is a great purchase if you look at it from the price as well as the storage capacity point of view. However, the temperature is way too cool for red wines. The warmest temperature it reaches is 51F, which you would not know since there is no temperature gauge.

What's great about it: Keeps wine at perfect temperature
What's not so great: not enough bottles
I give 4 stars to this wine cooler, one of the best purchases my husband made this past year. I wish we had a bigger kitchen to fit two coolers.
Cheers!

What's great about it: Very quiet, dependable, and affordable
What's not so great: Light doesn't turn on and off when the door opens
I really could not have asked for more for from this fridge. 35 bottle storage for $200 is a tremendous deal. I plugged it in the first day, loaded it up and haven't looked back since. It's very quiet, don't even know that I've ever heard it running. I kind of wish this company made a larger, similarly-priced fridge (say a 70-bottle fridge for $400), but sadly they don't. So I guess I'm going to buy this one again and put it one upstairs and another downstairs. Not so bad I guess.
The one con I listed isn't even that much of a con (just felt like I should list something, even if it's very small). 99% of the time I just want the fridge to sit there quietly in darkness. A light that responds to the door opening would be a nice luxury, but it's not that big a deal. When I want to pull a bottle out, I just flip the switch for the light to come on so I can get a better look at the bottles. When I'm done, I flip the light switch back off.

Probably great for Whites, NOT REDS

What's great about it: Cost
What's not so great: Uncontrollable temperature, cheap design, no digital display
The Danby specs say this cellar will store wines at up to 57.2 degrees (F). However, no matter what setting you put the turn-dial temperature on (which is only specified by Max or Min) it stays at a way-too-cold-for-reds 44 - 48 degrees (F). I purchased the inexpensive unit specifically to house imported reds at 55 - 60 degrees, but it is not fulfilling that purpose.
It's not an unattractive unit at all, but it is only as sturdy as it's low pricetag.
If you are looking to house whites, this is a great value for the dollar expense and will probably be just what you need!

What's great about it: Plenty of Room
After reviewing many wine fridges, I decided on this model due to its bottle capacity and cost. I've only had it about a month but have had no problems! It is quiet, holds my wine collection, and looks great in my kitchen!

We were looking for a medium sized wine cooler to hold our modest collection of red and white wines, that wasn't overkill. This is exactly what we got with this cooler!
The size is perfect for someone who like to keep more than 6 bottles of wine in the house, but doesn't have a huge collection needing climate control. And it is attractive enough to keep in our dining room.
The only drawback is that even on the warmest setting, the temperature is still a little below the ideal range for red wine - even on the top rack. But it is a better temp than the refrigerator, and for the casual wine aficionado, this shouldn't pose too much of an inconvenience.
