"This is a really good wireless mouse. I've never had an issue with the mouse. I've had it for over 2 years and I think I replace the battery once every 8-12 months. It is very compact so its easy to throw into a bag with your laptop. One draw back is that its a little small which makes gripping awkward."

"when mouse is plugged in the screen saver on my new laptop doesn't work. When you unplug it the screen saver works. Funny aren't this both Mirosoft Products!!!!"

"This mouse is great but there are some things that needs to be fixed. I thought that it being a Microsoft product it would be outstanding. I have have this mouse for about 7 months, I have changed the battery 2x's (that's good) but now my receiver doesnt work. Every now and then it will but right now is in the trash. My screensaver doesn't work with this mouse. Overall I would not buy this product again."

"I bought this mouse for the size and the Microsoft name. If you get the mouse above the receiver it doesn't work. when it sits for a few minutes, without using it, it starts to work spurattically. I also noticed that after I started using this mouse my screen saver didn't come up all the time. I was very dissapointed because I thought Microsoft would have a better product."

Pros: More than simple install. Cons: When running Vista, screensaver won't come on.
"This mouse is wonderful! We own 3 of these, one for each laptop in the house. And I'm going to purchase another one for my desktop to eliminate the wire. I also purchased one of these for my wife's parents to use with the laptop they just bought. Instalation and use could not be easier. Battery life is AWESOME! The oldest one we own lasted a year and a half! The only downfall I've encountered is that when running Windows Vista, the screensaver will not activate while the mouse is connected. So it needs to be unplugged in order for the screensaver to activte. Two of our laptops are running XP, and the screensaver activates fine. Mouse is very responsive, and fits our hands perfectly. Great product for little money. You can catch it on sale for $19.99 at times."

"When I purchased my Laptop last month, I ordered the Dynex® - Wireless Optical Laptop Mouse - Silver along with it. It was great, except for the battery life and the fact that it crapped out after a month of use! Ten seconds after I plugged the USB adapter in, the mouse would just stop working. I brought it back and exchanged it for the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 - Winter Blue for about $10 extra. I've been using this one for close to a week now, and I'm hooked! . One thing I did like about the Dynex one was that it had an on/off switch on the bottom, so you wouldn't have to remove the adapter every time you needed a bathroom break or shift locations. But then again, the battery life on 2 AAA batteries was less than 2 weeks. Also, the adapter on that mouse stored internally, and the mouse remained off as long as the adapter was stored (but this is more personal preference, really). But seeing as the Microsoft mouse has a much longer battery life, I don't think that's going to be a problem... . The Dynex mouse I had before was really small, but this one has a much better feel to it now, being larger and feeling more like it was made to fit my hand. . For one improvement on the previous model, I bring up the USB adapter again (Yes, I do find this feature to be an important one). My dad, when he purchased his laptop a year and a half ago, purchased an earlier model of this. With his USB adapter, it was an L shape that could rotate the _ (lower, that is) part of the L, and it had a tendency to fall loose while it is stored on the bottom, and the on/off trigger was positioned right where that part goes, so it is often left on. On this model, however, it's more a lower case "l" than capital, and it's a snug enough fit so that it hasn't yet come loose (and I doubt it will). This was the main reason I hesitated on buying the Microsoft mouse when I bought my laptop (that and the Dynex mouse was $10 cheaper)"

Never thought I'd be so happy about a mouse!

"I initially bought this mouse just to take on the road with my laptop, keeping it my laptop bag for travel. After about 1 minute of using it - i threw away my corded mouse and use the wireless one all the time. I do alot of work in photoshop & rely on my mouse a great deal. It is very light & sensitive to movement (which is a plus in Photoshop). A battery seems to last for 4-6 months in it & a little screen will pop up alerting you to change the battery. I wont use a wired mouse again. The wire created 'drag' & would sometime cause my movements to be less accurate. This mouse solved that problem for me. If you depend on your mouse more than your keyboard, wireless is the way to go! I wont EVER use anything exccept wireless from now on."
