What's great about it: Great Graphics Cool weapons and a lot of fun
What's not so great: there are a lot of glitches
"This is a great game the graphics are outstanding it is a lot of fun to play but like i said the only bad things are that there are a lot of glitches a lot of the glitches mess you up and will most likely get you killed in the campaign."

"This game was great since the first day i played it, the beserker is soo scary when your playing it on a 50" plasma tv at 11 at night! gameplay is amazing the multiplayer over xbox live is also fun weapons are great cant wait for GoW2!!!! this was just a taste of what gow2 will be like"

"This is one of the older games on the xbox 360 but dont under look this title. Even though this is an old game these graphics are one of the best I have seen on the console. The gameplay is great, controls take a little time to ajust but thats it and the story line is deep and intuitive. The multiplayer is also superb."

What's great about it: Visuals, fun and immersive gameplay, cooperative ersive play, and storyline
What's not so great: A bit short
"Gears of War is the game that revolutionized the way all games are made today. With its state of the art graphics engine, it was able to push outstanding, realistic visuals and astound everyone who played it. But if you have not yet purchased this game, (I mean, it's been a really long time) you would do it now just to witness how the next gen revolution began.
In Gears of War, you will instantly find that it is very gruesome, (make sure your parents aren't around) body parts and blood flying in an unrealistic fashion. With you in combat you will have a wide variety of powerful weapons in your arsenal, my favorite being the Assault Rifle with the chainsaw attached to it. You will also have three or one squad mate with you at all times but this doesn't mean that combat will be any easier.
But now forget the combat, it's time to talk about the amazing visuals in this game. The lighting in dark areas give the game a frightening look and when you reach the majestic gold mine level later in the game, you will be awed by the flowing yellow liquid that seeps and flows everywhere around you. The water effects are the small details that make the game seem like the real world compared to most of the other games out at the time, especially the rain as it flows down trees and buildings and glistening in the light of your flashlight.
So after writing through this long and horrible review, I can't really remember ever righting anything negative about this game, but if there were one thing I would personally mention, it's just a bit short, that's just my opinion you might think otherwise. Heed this review, go out and finish this game 4, 5, or 6 times because it's just that good."

"Gears of War is definitely a must have for any shooter fans. Yes, it might be a take cover and shoot game but it is more than that. The co-op mode, in my opinion, is far better than any co-op modes i have ever played including Halo 3. Online play is pretty good. The story is very good. You need to get this game."

What's great about it: graphics, visuals, Blood and Gore, COG.
What's not so great: Short Game.
"Gears of War was AWESOME!!! The story was great, the characters were really cool and i love them. The Graphics are Fantastic thanks to the Unreal engine. I love this game and it had a lot of good moments especially in multiplayer. Blood and Gore really made the Game a little Creepy but i satisfied me and thats why i bought it. The story by the way is really short though but it has some HIGH REPLAY VALUE!! RECOMMEND"

"there are no cons to this game, it is the best game ever created on xbox 360 and maybe any console. i played every night for an entire summer, at least a few hours every night, and never got bored. online gameplay is some of the best ive come across and campaign is thrilling. if you own xbox 360 and dont own this game then you should. if you dont own 360, its worth buying just for this game. id give it 6 stars if i could."

"It is hard to find a game that is truely original. Well Gears of War is about as original as you can get with the world in chaos it is up to you and your team to kill the locust infestation. This game is awesome the single player has such a good storyline and the graphics and characters are so different from anything you may have seen. Game play is relatively easy and you can look at something that pops up and see where you have to go opposed to aimlessly wandering like in most games. On top of it all this game has amazing online play and game modes. I love this game if it wasn't for call of duty 4 this game would be the most popular game out there. with out a doubt buy thius game even if you want the new one its just that good."
