"This game is awsome! my parents won't let me get it but they let me rent it from blockbuster. I loved everthing about the game. the graphics were completely awsome and if your parents won't let you get you can turn the gore off. that was the big reason why my parents let me rent it and now they are thinking about letting me buy it. Great choice."

"Gears of War is the must have game for the 360. The game playis revolutionary, with a gritty yet amazing graphics, and a a cover system that works seemlessly with thegame's ai. There is a two player campaign, which runs through the same levels as the first player campaign . The real high life of this game however is the online multiplayer. I have spent 6 months with an average of about 3 hours a day on that aspect of the game, and stil find it enjoying. The achievements are challenging, giving you something to work towards. The only downside is that a maximum of two people can play on one console."

"This game is really fun... The campaign is awesome. There are many new exciting features in this game. It is very realistic. The graphics are amazing. The only thing that I don't like about it is the the controls and maneuverability. It seems a bit stiff."

Great play, short game

"This was an excellent game, loved the visuals, shows off a unique style of graphics that make the world real in a battle-torn future. Awesome gameplay / use of cover tactics. Loved it from the moment I played it. I would give it 5 stars but it is VERY short...I beat it within a week of play...around 10-15 hours of play. Fun to play through with a friend but single player is almost more fun. I would try renting it for a week.....you'll probly beat it. Great game otherwise and open for a sequel...hopefully longer."

"Gears of War (GOW), is an alright game for the casual gaming type of person. The game has many flaws a competitive player would spend finding instead of actually playing. Multiplayer is definitely not worth it. This game is great for campaign mode though."

"Wow is all that can be said about this game. The single player campaign is amazing, although a little short. I was very impressed wihthe graphics and the visuals. What is really impressive is the online play. I have gotten many hours out of playing matches online. There is a good variety of match types, and with the new maps that were just added (and made free), as well as the added achievements, this is a game worth buying."

"The campaign is extremely well done. Granted it is a little short at about 8 hours if you're playing on easy. Bump up the difficulty and you'll probably milk 10 hours out of the game. If you like horror movies, this game has plenty of missions where your palms will start getting sweaty and you're heart beats at 100 mph wondering what's around that next dark corner. The sound is excellent and so are the graphics. Definitely should play on hd and surround sound on this one.
Gameplay controls are user-friendly. The A button makes you take cover and the right bumber reloads you're weapon. I liken the gameplay to playing paintball. You'll be spending the majority of your time shooting from behind cover while avoiding incoming shots and running (using the A button) from one cover to another."

"This game is amazing. I went to a friends house and he put it on for me, well needless to say 5 hours later my hands were very sore :). The special effects are jaw dropping and the characters are very detailed. Action is great, and it also helps that the A.I is very smart so you will not find yourself shooting at sitting ducks. You really feel as if you are in the action. Two thumbs up for this game."

"This a good game, graphics are ridiculously sweet!! great weapons and really engaging missions. Complaints are that, the games end up too repetitive. and pretty much who gets the good weapons is the winner, tough to outmaneuver the crazy weapons."

"I have played the single player twice and play the multiplayer online alot, and i still don't get what all of the hype is about! This game is not all that reat. Also, it's not as new and inventive as it was made out to be. It does what other better games have already done in the past but worse. If your looking for that type of game but better get either: Resistance Fall of Man or Counter Strike Source. Not only are both of those better, but they are def. worth every penny. Don't Buy gears!!! It is not as good as they say."

"This game is fantastic. The whole game play is next generation. The cover system is phenomenal, you can move from cover to cover unlike most games were you have to get out of cover run to the next spot then take cover again. graphics are amazing, the only complaint is that peoles ear's don't look good, but besides that graphcs are supurb. If you are looking for a good game on Xbox live this is the perfect one. nothing to complain about on live. They say this is a horor game but it is only that if you play it in away that will make it bad, sure it can be scary, but it isn't a horor game. this game will fit any gamers needs it is fun, challenging and exciting at every turn. Buy it and i'll see you on Xbox Live."
