"I purchased Gears Of War the first day it came out and I haven't put the game down since. First of all the graphics are hands down the best I've seen. I don't have an HD tv but, easily the graphics blow any other game away. Multiplayer and co-op is where the fun takes place. The game is challenging enough but when you have a friend via Xbox Live it enhances the game that much more. This hands down is the best game to purchase on the 360."

"i dont understand all the hype about this game. There are sooooo many better 360 games out there than gears. The singleplayer is short and the story line is extremly vague and dry. the multiplayer is filled with racist 8 year olds and glitchers. the only good part about this game is the online co-op. my friends and i had a good time playing thru it."

"Gears of War is one of the best games I have played. It has many new and exciting fetures that have never been seen before in other games. The game play is intense and exciting, but after only one or two plays the game freezes. This happened to me and to many of my friends. The online part still worked, but the campagin didnt."

"I have played this game everyday since its release. I have trouble getting off the online play because it is so much fun. I do NOT recommend this to young kids because of the gore and the language that comes from xbox live users but I know that parent really don't care what their kids play! ENJOY THE CHAINSAW!!!!!"

"gears of war is a definite buy. The story game play is unique and makes the game well worth it. It combines the fun of a first person shooter with real life tactics. By allowing your character to hide and take cover behind objects Gears provides some realism to a genre. It contains lots of shooting, intelligent enemies, great assortment of weapons, and amazing graphics. The only downfalls I found were in the shortened story game play. The game seems to be over very quick. Also, the multi player online is one of the worst I have seen. Unless it has changed, you only get one life per match. Unlike Halo where you can respawn, Gears only allows for on death. Once all players on that team have died, the match is over. In my opinion, it is not worth playing online. Overall, a great game worth buying simply for it's replay value."

"I've been playing Gears of War for about 6 months now, and I have a lot of fun playing it. The campaign is great, story line is iffy, but the campaign mode is long and you can play co-op over xbox live with a friend. The multiplayer for Gears of War is outstanding! Some advantages are the graphics, weapon select, and level complexity. But, some disadvantages are the fact that if you're not hosting the bullet lag is worse than most xbox live games, the games are only 4v4, and most of the time the game just starts and everyone just rushes to the powerful weapons. Overall, this game is definitely worth buying!"

"This game is frustrating and great. Start out on casual to get used to having to hide and fight, and then push it up to hardcore to have some serious fun, although expect to die a lot. You'll learn your style, just remember you'll never survive in the open. Sometimes it's fun to take the sniper rifle to kill everyone quickly, and other times the shotgun will be your best friend when they charge. 5 stars."

"I've never seen any game in which you can tear opponents apart and see their blood and guts scattered and bouncing all over the place, with the amount of detail presented in this game. In this gritty universe, the mechanics of active reloading, corner shooting, defensive rolling and roadie running all play a critical part in changing battle scenarios, to ensure survival and victory. The chainsaw gun known as the lancer, is my favorite weapon, since it is two weapons in one. It makes your enemy shake, then tears them in two. No better way to get a quick and cinematic kill than hearing the hum of the saw."

"I bought this game the day after I purchased my 360 in Feb 07. I still think this might be the best looking game out there. being pc gamer most my life, i hated playing fps with a controller. this game was a really good transition for me because of the easy to use and visually impressive/exciting cover firing system. the weapons available are very cool, my favorites are the stock chainsaw gun and the exploding arrows. the sound of the game is also very imersive. if you have a surround system, you will feel like your right in the middle of the gun fights. another added bonus is the halo/golden eye style split screen action. alot of next gen console games are taking this out in favor of network multi playing, but its fun if you got a friend go through the co-op with. the online play is pretty fun, my trial of live gold ran out so i only got to play it online for a few days. overall this is a great shooter, very theatrical and well paced action."
