What's great about it: Everything(especially online play)
What's not so great: you sometimes get stuck on walls
"The graphics of this game are incredible. If you are looking for a good online game this game is for you. I have to say this is my favorite game of all time. The only con is sometimes when you roll you will get stuck on a wall or barrier. Overall this is a great game that I think everybody should buy.

What's great about it: graphics, multiplayer, story
What's not so great: just a phase of a game you will go through
"Gears of War, or what has come to be known as Gears, is an awsome game with cool weaponry, and some sick campaign. The multiplayer is also great but can get boring after a while. Since the second one doesn't come out for a while, i reccomend you buy it sometime soon to know what you are doing when the jam-packed Gears2 is released."

What's great about it: good graphics, plenty of action
What's not so great: just a phase in gaming need
"I bought to game awhile back. The game has great graphics like most current generation games. It also has plenty of action and good co-op campaign. I have never finished the game, however. I bought the game because of the hype at school, played it for 2-3 days, and never played since. It's not a bad game, it's just that, to me, the game did not keep up to all its hype and put down my urge to play. In the game, you have plenty of weapons to use, the co-op is unique. At some points in the game, you and your friend would have to split up taking different routes, I thought that was pretty cool. Also, the "finishing moves" when you verse a friend was original. I would recommend to others tho, just because I didn't like it doesn't make the game bad."

"This is simply the best gaming experience ever. I found myself pacing my game play so as not to go through the game too quickly. The story is light of course but the action is intense and furious. A must buy for any Xbox360 owner!"

"basically if you dont own this game and you own an xbox 360 then theres a problem. you really need to buy it. this was a major launch title for the console and really is one of the best games i ve ever played. probably the most important 360 release to date. you re really missing out if you dont try it. once you try it you ll want to finish it. you will."

"IM a very serious gamer when i want to be, and this game just doesnt make it to a four star for me , its 3rd person view doesnt go with thaT KIND OF A GAME ,FIRST PERSON WOULD BE BETTER , and that minused have a star for me,then the darn camera controls didn=t help sooooo it got a 3 star and no more!!!

"Well what I have to say for this game? AWESOME! For those of you who like first person shooters and like Horror and Thriller movies. Good Game for you. This game is loaded with suspence and you have no idea what the is coming next. You got so many scary monsters it will scare the @#$% outta you. I dont reccomend the game for the feint hearted or for those of you that have no strategy or love for a hack and slash.. or should I say Chainsaw and Shooter Game.

What's great about it: Great campaign, good multiplayer
What's not so great: None
"Like everyone else says, this game is just simply awesome. I've played the campaign at least 4 times either single player or co-op on every difficulty. The online play took some getting used to, but it really grew on me. It grew on me so much that I had to get the "Seriously 10,000 kills online" achievement. Yeah, it became that addicting."

"To me this is just one of the best games xbox has. The game controls don't get any better the weapons are great. It has a long game play and it's just fun. Of all my games this one ( and Ninja Gaiden) is well rounded and you actually get more than your moneys worth. If you'r not into the cursing, dont get near this game. I personaly dont mind but sometimes they over do it. Most people will think thats one of the coolest things about it. As far as online, I dont can't speak to that I played a little but never got into it. In my top 5"

"Gears of War was probably one of the reasons I bought a 360, and still is. Even after almost a year and a half of being out it never gets old. Online play is where this game truly shines however. Amazing graphics and awesome gameplay make this game a must own for ANY 360 owner. Honestly if you dont have this game already, and you own a 360 go get it. You wont be disappointed."

"This is a great game with a awsome story line. Online play is pretty sweet when you play with your friends. The maps are also cool for online play and so are the weapons. The only suggestion i have is to not over play if you do it will get boring i found that out the hard way. The only reason that i rated it a 4 star is that there are WAY TO MANY online glitches."

"This game will always be a favorite of mine. The Graphics are unbelievable! Multiplayer is awesome with its great Gameplay, Animations, Sound, and its variety of Weapons. Chainsaws, Snipers, Grenades, The Boom Shot, Torque Bow... The list goes on... The storyline is above par but could have been longer and better. Also, the different difficulties could have used some fine tuning. Overall this game is amazing! It is an instant classic and a must have."

"I love the game! The graphics are awesome! Story line? What story? lol. The onle line game play is fun if you can find a room that is not being horded by a set group that likes to play with each other, and not any new comers. So, when your new watch your back because you can shoot a team mate, and if you aren't in the click they will shoot you."

What's not so great: well... bad story
"first of all, if you dont have xbox live, GET IT. playing with 7 others over xbox live is simply a great experience.
graphics are amazing, gameplay is amazing, guns are amazing and, hehe, the chainsaw is amazing. the taking cover aspect is awesome, and a little cloud of dust will come off of what you took cover behind. there are only 5 missions, but still, those 5 missions will keep you entertained for a long time.
the only thing that is a minor setback to this game is the story. for some reason youre shooting some kind of aliens from underground? i was bit confused there. and at the end you dont feel as though you got anywhere. it wouldnt have been too hard to put in a simple 2 minute movie at the beginning to explain whats happening.
Even though the story sucks, you will get distracted by every other jaw dropping, heart pounding, insanely awesome fire fight. you will just fall in love with this game. definite buy."
