What's great about it: forge, multiplayer, campaign
What's not so great: easy and short campaign
"this game is fun and a great game but they made campaign easy compared to the other halo games. i beat the game on legendary in 3 days. i wouldnt get this game if you dont have xbox live. i played multiplayer alot and was still fun. but then i got modern warfare 2 and i dont know if ill ever play this game again... so GET MODERN WARFARE 2!!!!!"

What's great about it: AWESOME GAMEPLAY, GOOD GRAPHICS, AWESOME WEAPONS AND VECHICLES
What's not so great: some weapons can be weak kinda
"halo 3 is bi far the best FPS game i have eva played. i got cod 4 for xmas,and havent tried it yet, so that mite b betta (doubt it). it is challenging 4 my bro, cuz he is 10. the mutiplayer i havent tried yet soundes great (split screen is fun 2). PARENTS- THIS GAME AINT THAT BAD. BUTT WHEN U SHOOT A BRUTE THERE IS ALOT OF BLOOD, AND SOME OCCAISONS, THERE R ARMS AND LEGS ALL OVA DA PLACE(ALIEN ARMS) BUT OVERALL GREAT GAME

What's great about it: Graphics, the story is EPIC and the gameplay is great.
What's not so great: Predictable enemies when playing campaign after a few times. weapons are weak.
"A great ending to the Halo trilogy, best game of all 3 games. but there are drawbacks... e.g. the weapons are either weak (the assault rifle) or have very little ammo capacity, the campaign is predictable: the enemies almost always do the same thing at the same time. the best part is the multiplayer: great maps and it is fun but i wouldn't buy w/out a Xbox live connection. the responsiveness isn't great but it does allow for minute movements for sniping and careful aiming."

The Best of The First Three By Far

What's great about it: Thrilling Campaign and Great Multiplayer Mode
"I've played the first three Halos now and by far number three is the best. We all know what the game has involved with it, so I'll just discuss the coolest parts. I love nothing better than to hijack enemy vehicles and either take them over or blow them up (in campaign mode). The multiplayer maps are great and much of the extra content is free. I bought #3 even though ODST and "Wars" were out because I heard that they were just more expensive versions of the same game. No reason to spend extra money. This game is sure to eventually earn platinum status someday."

"you really need to play the other halo's in order to even remotely understand this game. but you shouldnt have to play all those games to form your own opinion after playing this terrible game. first the online game itself. your going against top notch players who already know how to play. its not that fun to play online and it is overrated. the story itself is very weird. i got into to at first but at the end it was terrible."

What's not so great: Online Multyplayer, Online interactions
"The overall story campaign is fun, even though its predictable. Online is fun at first but after time and online interactions from premature kids and overly seriousness players the fun reaches a minimum. If you have friends to play with it is a good game for four friends to play. If you dont have the map packs your fun is laid down even more due to the one playlist you can play. (my friend kind of ruined the game for me so your results may vary) I would recommend this game to a friend depending on his personal preferences. The graphics for its style are good but lack the realistic capability."

What's great about it: great online gameplay,forge feature is great, and the choice of weapons and vehicles.
What's not so great: Realism. short campaign.
"When I first got this game, I thought it was the best game I ever played, soon i figured out it was not. The realism is terrible, for example, when you laser somebody with the spartan laser there should be a big hole wherever you got hit. the campaign is short. It's is a good game though."

What's great about it: Easy to learn, easy to play, great story, addictive, awesome multiplayer, community, online stats tracking
What's not so great: Quitters effect multiplayer games, some undetected map issues when setting up System Link games for LAN parties;
"I bought this game when it first came out a few years ago, and you would think I would have put it down now, but still Halo3 keeps calling me to play it over and over again. What's so addictive about are the multiplayer options and the overall fun you get out of this game. The controls are relatively easy to get used to, the graphics are not super realistic, but the gameplay is second to none. Where other games do well is the graphics, but they they sacrifice on what can be done in the game by the character. In Halo3 you are pretty much free to roam just about anywhere in the maps and do just about anything with your player (jumping, move certain objects, crash things, blow up things, etc.) that's within the engine limits.
Here's what I find most intriguing and fun about Halo3:
Story - The Halo story has a huge following due to the fact that the story is inspiring and makes you feel as if you are the Spartan - the ultimate hero of our world.
Challenging - You can select different grades of difficulty in the game.
Co-op Campaign - You can play Cooperative campaign mode with your friends!
Map Editor - Called Forge in Halo3 and probably the best map editor I've ever seen. There is so much you can do and build. The possibilities are almost endless. Share them with other Halo Players over File Share. You can even invite your friends in a Forge session as you work to create custom maps or just have fun in the map editor. There's so much to do!
Multiplayer - Matchmaking - Halo3 is by far the best multiplayer game out there. Different types of Social and Ranked matches are available over Xbox Live Gold. You can also play Custom maps with your friends.
Guests- From your 360 console at home, you and up to 3 guests can join in on the Xbox Live fun by joining games over Halo3's Matchmaking.
SystemLink - Have LAN parties, or Halo Parties with your friends with other 360 consoles in the comfort of your home. All you need are extra t.v. sets, router, and network cables, plus however many 360 consoles and controllers you want to hook up...16 players max..if I'm not mistaken.
Custom Games - You can create and play Custom Matches with your friends or join those of others. You can play maps found on File Share or maps you've created and saved with the Map Editor.
Theater - By far one of the coolest add-ons to a game I've seen. Previously played games are recorded and downloadable to watch. You can also invite your friends in the the Theater to watch them too. Additionally, you can edit the playback to cut it down to a smaller size, change the perspective of who or what you're looking at, and then you can save all of that and share it over File Share.
File Share - Bungie gives you a certain amount of free slots available to upload your custom maps from Forge, and screen shots and playbacks from Theater. File Share can be used to download these items that either Bungie or your Friends (or other players) have also reccommended. You can also purchase additional File Share slots from Bungie with Xbox Live points.
Continuing map packs - If I counted them correctly, since Halo3's release, there have been 3 or 4 new map packs released for extra enjoyment. When Halo ODST launches in mid September 2009, these map packs should be included.
Hopefully I was able to give you a good idea of what to expect in Halo 3. If you haven't ever played Halo 3 before, then I highly encourage you to do so. Even if First Person Shooter games are not for you, at least seeing this game and what it can do will really impress you.
I for one know that this game was the best investment I have ever put into a video game. Most video games depreciate big time in their value over a course of two years, but Halo 3 is still going strong.
Rent it first maybe, to see if you want to invest in it yourself.....if it's not out stock from your local video store!"

"Another great game from Microsoft and Bungie. This game is great to play alone or with your friends. Forge mode is nice because you can create your own maps. Even if you beat the game, you can still make maps, replay the campaign at a harder difficulty, and fight your friends in co-op. Online with this game is amazingly fun with tons of different modes. Buying maps on Xbox live will increase your fun too. The only thing I don't like about the game is that the guns need more power. It takes a whole clip to take down anyone in online or vs a friend = takes longer to kill someone. Can't wait for Halo 3 ODST."

What's great about it: everything it has good graphics the price is very reasonable
What's not so great: it is kinda hard to set all the weapons on it and it needs more weapons because it has the same weapons
"what i think of this game is that it is reallly challenging for people that love tatical games what i like about it is that i could sit there and play it for 3hrs and still not be tired of playing it. what i didnt like about it is that they need to make the sniper rifle have a better scope so that you can snipe down to the other end of the stage that you are playing on."
