What's great about it: Beautiful graphics, Great sound emerssion, Awesome multi-player
What's not so great: Not longer
"The game grips you right away in the opening scene and it does not let go. The graphics are beautiful and the scenery is very real. The game play itself is basic first person shooter, but they have added some new features; third person mode when you pick up a "mounted gun", more vehicles, and an improved heads up display. There is not much negative to say about this game except for the fact that it does end. Greta choice, would recommend this to anyone with an XBOX 360."

A lot to live up to

What's great about it: Thrilling story, great coop/multiplayer
What's not so great: A little short, not as difficult as the last 2 halo's
"For anyone who has played through the first 2 halo games, this one is a must buy. The story gets a little wierd towards the end, but then again its a game about inter-galactic war between humanity and fanatically religious aliens, so i guess wierd is good. the graphics are overall very solid, there are just a few cut scenes where a character will clip into another character or weapon which totally ruins the realism. Controlling your character, as in all previous games, is nothing short of stellar. I recommend to anyone who enjoys shooters. Best played with a friend."

"this game is not as fun as all the other halos. In this game they added equipment to carry around. it completely made the game not fun. i mean its not fun when someone throws a bubble shield or a power drain. i played this game for a while and found it to be stupid. i do not recommend this game. i do recommend halo 2 it was a lot more fun the only bad part about halo 2 is the graphics but if you want a fun game go buy halo 2."

What's great about it: great graphics, controlls, xbox live, and campaign mode

"I just bought this game the other day with my new 360. I know that it has been out for a while but it just doesn't get old. I was tired of always playing at my friends house so I bought my own and I could not be happier with the purchace. The graphics are incredible for the price and it is good for hours of fun on xbox live with your friends. The thing that I like about halo 3 is that you can play with three other people on xbox live with one system, unlike call of duty where only one person can play at a time on xbox live. If you cant decide between halo 3 or call of duty 4 definitely pick halo 3. I also just got the wireless adapter for xbox live so it looks great on my hd tv and you dont have to worry about the ethernet cable."

"Halo 3 is a great game in the trilogy but if you were in to halo 2 playing that on live you might not like this one as much for its online line play i know cause i use to play halo 2 all the time and i really don't like to play halo 3 online"

What's great about it: Improved Graphics, Forge Option, Great Unranked Playlists
What's not so great: Weapon Nerfing, Skill Reduction, High Price
"The sequel to one of the best sequels of all time. Sadly, not living up to its name in the competitive world, Halo 3 is still a fun game to play with friends when you are at a party, or even when you are up at 1:00 am by yourself. If you played Halo 2 and were good at it and like it, you probably won't like this game, because of the dramatic reduction of skill needed to play it. However, if you haven't yet played any of the other 2 Halo games in the series, you will mostly buy into the hype of this game and enjoy it. In the transition from halo 2 to halo 3 they have definitely switched the game to accommodate more inexperienced players, if you are going to play this game just to have fun with your friends, you will more than likely end up doing that, because this game is perfect for screwing around on. The new forge option in the game allows you to create your own maps and have an awesome time on them, Tony Hawk style. Definitely a good buy if you aren't going to take the game too seriously, but if that's what you're aiming for, you should go pick up Shadowrun."

"I like this game but it seems right after you beat it, it gets old kind of fast. The best thing about halo 3 is playing live. A lot of people play it and it has some really fun maps. I really like games that never get old like COD4. For me I guess its just personal preference but i would still recomend this game to most of my friends. If you love halo you should buy this game."

"This game is amazing...but its halo so what do you expect...Multiplayer online is still where its at. It has a great story to it but is a little short and the campaign doesn't have much replay value...If you have xbox live and want a solid shooter, you need to pick this up"

What's great about it: The physics engine, explosions, and vehicles
What's not so great: The cool yet unsatisfying ending, nothing like its predecessors, and it's the final Halo game
"Halo is of my favorite gaming franchises and I have played both Halos 1 and 2 many many times because they are both excellent games. But now is the hour of our discontent for Halo 3 has been released. Almost everything that was good from the other Halos has not been found and of these attributes is the story and the state of the art graphics. Most people who buy the game will find that the ending is not quite what you would want to happen (maybe you should play the whole game on legendary difficulty) and that the graphics are very much over rated. But still the game is very fun, especially on co-op mode and shooting down crazy aliens is just part of it if not most of it. Overall, this is a pretty good game even for fans or beginners to the franchise, it's just not perfect."

What's great about it: Campaign Experience, and Achievements
What's not so great: Very repetitive multiplayer...
"Halo 3 is not a bad game, I'd say it's more of a 3.5 than a 3 but definitely not 4/5... If you've played the other Halo games by all means get it, but I personally am bored out of my mind with multiplayer! Yeah, they make new maps, yeah, there's plenty to do as far as achievements, but every single kill that you do with your assault rifle or battle rifle ends up about the same... pump him full of led until he's dead, OR when you're close enough to finish him with a bash! Killing people by splattering them is only interesting so many times... 4.5 stars on campaign, 2.5 stars on multiplayer... or maybe I'm just picky, idk. I've played about seven hundred matches and it ain't fun anymore, not for me. I know people that have played, like, 1500 matches and still love it, but I'm bored with less than half of there experience. It's really a question of "what do you want it for" and "how easily do you get bored?""
