What's great about it: campaign was fun, graphics, forge, theater, online, everything.
What's not so great: wish they added the halo 1 magnum instead, few glitches
"im a huge halo fan, been playing it since the second day halo 1 came out, and i have to say this game is SWEET. the assault rifle in matchmaking is kinda overpowered (u can shoot someone for literally a second and beat them down and their dead, yet u can hit someone twice with the 3 burst BR and beat them down and they dont die). theres some wierd glitches like that but overall i love this game."

What's great about it: With all the options, it never gets old
What's not so great: Nothing
"I've never been the biggest fan of these types of shooters. I always like the realistic types, but this is one exception. Halo 3 is a great game, story and especially online. All of the different game settings and types keeps this game fun for a very long time."

What's great about it: Amazing and I got it for a good price
What's not so great: Kinda short for my taste
"This is the first game I purchased with my Xbox 360 and it truly showed me of what the console is capable of. I've always heard positive things about the Halo series so I knew it would be necessary when playing my Xbox. It had amazing graphics and multiplayer (online awesome as well) but it actually solo game was a little short for my taste. Even though it was short I still give it 5 stars because of everything else the game had to offer me =)"

What's great about it: Absolutely everything, very entertaining
What's not so great: The marines A.I., but thats not a big deal.
"Halo 3 builds upon the concepts of Halo 2 in ways that you'd expect, but there are also new modes and options that send the series in exciting new directions.
The Good:
Satisfying storyline that simultaneously provides closure while making you wonder what will happen next. Four-player online co-op is a lot of fun Forge mode map editor lets you do some extremely crazy and unexpected things. Web integration makes sharing new maps and custom modes easy.
The Bad:
Rewinding saved films doesn't work quite like you'd expect it to. AI-controlled Marines can't drive to save their lives (or yours). Inevitable flood of prepubescent online players sure to hamper your enjoyment of the online modes."

What's great about it: Detail, the continued story from the past games, and multiplayer
What's not so great: the campaign even when doing heroic or legendary on your own was a bit to simple
"This is a great continuation of the past 2 games but what it really lacked was difficulty at some times like you see a huge horde of enemies, oh look over there its a turret, then you mow them down with not much trouble. im not saying that its not fun to mow down huge hordes of enemies because it really is, but i couldnt feel that struggle to take cover or something. Multiplayer is very good, the only downside is you need DLC map packs to get the full exprience out of the game. Overall its a VERY good buy."

"Halo 3 ended up being just a decent game after I completed it. It reminded me of an unpolished Resistance 2. The controls were very much the same, which was a plus but the the graphics were very mediocre. It may be due to the 360 lacking in the ability to play in "true HD"."

"Halo 3 is an exceptional game to buy. First off, let me say that this was the first game in the Halo series that I actually played through and I still understand the main concepts of the story. The campaign can almost be compared to a unique action movie, but on the downside it was a little short to my standards. The maps are great on this game, and the forge mode allows you to customize them to fit your style. Last but not least, the multiplayer mode online is exciting. Being able to compete against players from all over the country let alone the world is quite enjoyable. What I am pretty much trying to say is that Halo 3 is a wonderful game and you wont regret buying it."

"This is one of the greatest online multiplayer games for the xbox 360. The campaign is very dissapointing. It gets boring but the story is good and it is fun to play Co-op with friends. The graphics are good but I think they could be better. Personally, I believe that Halo 2 is a better game than this one. Its online was better but Halo 3 doesn't have as much lag and has no glitches. All in all, this game is definatley worth buying if you do any online gaming."

What's great about it: Follows the story, great online, lots to do.
What's not so great: Disappointed me.
"It was really disappointing seeing those graphics and some of the gameplay. Just parts of it seem like they could be better. It's one of those games you love but if you played the first two you know it could be better. And although you don't know what should change you just know it's not good enough. Like the graphics, you couldn't make them too good or the aliens just would be another game. You have to make them look completely animated but still. Better than that!
It has tons of game modes people have made. You can modify and change anything, on any map, any game mode, there's just so much you can do. People play duck hunt, soccer, golf, racing, tag, all kinds of games. Just go to custom games to play them, forge to make them, edit gametype to change them, and file share to display them.
The only thing about it is it kind of gets annoying after a while. All the jumping and tons of shooting and guys just not dieng. Kids thinking they're cool T-bagging, people getting beat and saying lets play 1v1. 50's thinking they're pros. Just all kinds of pathetic things.
I was hoping for a hardcore mode or something not like the hardcore they gave us.
But online is great, social you can't lose exp just gain it and have fun and rank up. Ranked you win to get exp lose/quit to lose xp.
When you hear Xbox you think halo...when you hear 360 you think Halo 3. It's really a must have game for the 360.
Call Of duty 4-6 vs Halo 1-3.
ehh...tie."
