Good at first but...

What's great about it: Good graphics, fun at first
What's not so great: Needs more work on story and attracting gamers.
"Well this game is amazing at first. However, after about a month or so after playing it, it will get kind of boring. It lived up to the hype and then it sort of dies. I recommend renting this game, beating it, and giving it back... Overall a pretty good game"

What's great about it: Multiplayer!
What's not so great: campaign not too par.
"This is hands down, the best game ever made! I love the multiplayer! can spend hours upon hours playing this game and never get bored of it. you can play with all your friends online and other people all around the world!
If you own an Xbox 360, this is a Have too own game! do not pass this one up!"

What's great about it: good multiplayer
What's not so great: rank goes down, to easy to die, and graphics arent as good as expected
"it is a good game at first but it isnt as fun after a couple of weeks. there are much better shooter games out there. dont fall for the hype of halo 3 get something else"

"Halo 3 is a dolled up halo 2. The same old look on an updated system. Bungie failed while still making a great game. Halo should of been a homerun on a swing for the fences type of swing but it wasnt a triple at best. some new things like the videos the hammer and all but graphic wise from the a whole it should of been better it is brought out on a new system being the 360 so the developers should of really upgraded the game in a whole. Halo was huge and great for the xbox but for the 360 it can not compete with gears of war who took it to a new level.."

Don't Understand the Hype

What's great about it: Graphics, online gameplay
What's not so great: better options available
"I bought into the hype of halo 3 and picked up the 360. I have a hdtv and a ps2 so I figured an upgrade in gaming system was in order.
I didn't play Halo or Halo 2 so I don't know if that makes a difference. The game is okay I just don't understand why everyone loves this game. If you get shot you can just hide for a moment and your health will regenerate. This is just one of the reasons I find the game to be so-so.
I also recently played Rainbow Six Vegas and MOH Airborne. So far Vegas is the best game I've played on the 360 out of about 10 games."

What's great about it: Excelent campaign, multiplayer, and graphics.
What's not so great: None.
"This game has an excellent use of all features accessible on the Xbox 360. Great campaign and unlike Halo games in the past you can now have a system link with a friend locally or take it to the next step and play it with your online friends on Xbox Live. However, the multi-player is by far the thing that makes you keep playing this game."

"Great graphics give way to gameplay that is mediocre to good at best. A lot of the same old same old. I made it through the first three bosses then decided to start bioshock, I finished bioshock before I went back."

A Disappointment

What's great about it: Graphics, Customization, Forge, Videos.
What's not so great: Online, weapons.
"1. I purchased this game the first minute it game out (yes, I guess you can say I was one of those freaks who waited out in line at 12:01am). The game was the greatest thing for about 2-3 weeks after release.
2. The graphics are great, the ability to edit maps is amazing, the weapons are OK but kinda "cheap", the story mode/campaign is the best so far out of Halo and Halo2.
3. If you do decide to purchase this game, you will enjoy it for a week or so, and then think of how you could have bought a tank or two of gas with that $60 instead of H3. It does get boring quick.
4. The online play is very customizable to how you want to play the game, but matches you up with your rank instead of skill. Many of the weapons can become cheap after time.

Overall: 3.5"

"This is by far the worst halo in the trilogy!!! Halo and Halo 2 were great games. Everything was great in both of them. Then bungie made halo 3. The campaign is by far the best ive ever played!!! online is GARBAGE!!! At first I loved it. it was the best 4 a while. then i got to higher levels and noticed somethings like how dumb the mauler is and how it beats every weapon except the shotgun. beat downs are glitched. the sniper goes through walls and bubble shields. and also equipment can change the tide of a battle which to me is just DUMB like a flair. who really uses the flair except to pis off their team? just over all GARBAGE. Other then that it is a great game."

"This is a good game, graphics are good and all, but if you want to play a real good NON-CHEATING game you should get "Call of Duty 4"!!!! That is the best game ever!!! But Halo3 is by far the WORST online multiplayer, sure it is fun at the lower lvl's, but once u get to lvl 35 and up, u find the real glitches,.... such as :Plasma Grenades going through people, Assasination's not killin in one hit, people not dying when you hit the in the face with rockets, yet they hit you twice with AR and you are dead.... that is the stuff the really sucks about the game..."

What's great about it: Better sound and graphics, Online CO-OP
What's not so great: Multiplayer Glitches, Still Halo
"Must have for fans of Halo Series. Mediocre FPS for online play, especially compared with Halo 2. Online matchmaking/rank system still the strongest out there. COOP campaign (online) is great fun with a friend. Decent overall game, worth the money."

A Great Finish

What's great about it: Another Great Game In The Trilogy
What's not so great: It Could Be The End Of Master Chief
"To start this is the third game in a series of three. The first two games came out for the original Xbox. If you are just buying this game for the first time, you may not be familiar with the story. However, playing this game for the first time, MS and Bungie (makers of the game) did a very good job at keeping those who are new fans in tune with the story line. That storyline is based on the idea that you are a super human that has been created to fight in an ongoing war against the Covenant, who are invading aliens from another planet. With your ultimate goal being not to let them ever know the existence of Earth. However, in this game there are some interesting twist to the storyline and I'm not going to tell anymore about the story.
The game itself plays very well and I feel graphically it is obviously the best in the series. The game itself has never been much for lifelike graphics, and if that is what you are looking for you may want to look elsewhere. However, the surroundings in this game as well as the cut scenes are the nicest this series has ever seen. The controls in this game are very well done, as they always are and are hard to rival. Also the Xbox controller is probably the best for FPS games.
The online multiplayer in this game is also probably one of the best that is out there. The only one I can think of that can compete is COD 4 at this time, and that is all depending on what you're preferences are. The match making on Halo 3 is great and you will almost always be matched up with people of your skill level. Also you have a great selection of games, and maps on multiplayer. Xbox live has just recently added new maps for Halo 3 as well.
If you are looking for a great FPS for the Xbox 360 this is the one for you."
