"This game is a must have if you have an xbox 360!! Halo series is by far the most dominating game with highest reviews for xbox 360 in the market ever since its first release with halo:combat evolved. Great improved graphics and amazing online play. This game will keep you entertained for many many hours per day. I did not play halo 1 very much and did not play halo 2 at all only because i had no money. But after I finally got an xbox360 and halo3, I was much amazed by the improvement from the first halo. You dont need to play the older halo games in order to love this game."

What's great about it: High diversity, awesome graphics, cool new story line
What's not so great: Somewhat short campaign
"Halo 3 brings in a great diversity of new weapons, maps, and playing modes it makes the game all the more fun. I really liked the graphics of the game. The story line is interesting however I thought the campaign was a bit short. All in all, Halo 3 beats them all."

"I haven't really ever played Halo till i heard about Halo 3. I went out and got me a copy and started playing it. The great thing about it is the multiplayer campaign mode. It allows you two play with 3 others to beat the game. The stages and guns rock. Have fun..."

What's great about it: improved gameplay
What's not so great: not halo 1
"Halo 3 fixes some things from halo 2. There is less auto aim and the campaign is a bit better. You can now also edit maps (a bit) to customize them more to your liking. However, overall it plays as Halo 2.5, and its launch maps are not that impressive. Time will tell how this game does compared to its predecessors, but if initial sales are any indicator, gamers will be playing this one for years to come."

What's great about it: great online, armor upgrades, cool weapons
What's not so great: short campain, easy achievements
"I bought this game at midnight o 1 at best buy. When i took this game home i was insently hooked. the graphics are awsome and the story line is good ( it is really short so if you dont have xbox live it might be just a rent for you unless you have lan partys). The online is the best set up of any online so far. the optimatch is better than servers and the ranking system is so easy to understand. any halo fan this game is a must or if your just looking to kick some monkey @$$ then buy this game."

What's great about it: Improved Multiplayer, New Weapons and Vehicles, Replayability

"Halo3 tells a great tale. That is one of the best things about it. It gives us the conclusion to a story that is accessible to people who just want a good 6-7 hour game and gives the Halo Fanatics a good conclusion that will prove satisfiying to those that have read the books and eat up every detail provided in the game. But where Halo 3, or Halo in general, truly shines is in the multiplayer realm. Online multiplayer, Forge (a great addition), and local play are all done so well that even PC Shooter enthusiasts are likely to love it (except maybe the controller part of it). A new ranking system, more medals, more weapons, more vehicles. This is a culmination of all Halos rolled into one superbly presented package that plays fantastic, looks good (not stellar graphics,e.g. Bioshock), sounds great, and has enough options and goodies to keep someone playing it for years. After all, Halo 2 was still on top of the Xbox Live Most Played list after all this time. Get it."

A little too much hype

What's not so great: Campaign too short
"With all the hype that was involved with this game, I have to say I was disappointed upon finishing the game. The campaign is way too short for people who got the game for this reason. It seems as if they focused more on the people who have xbox live rather than those who do not. Do not get me wrong, the xbox live is great and always will be, but this is about the only thing that delivers for this game."

What's great about it: Multi-player campaign local AND online.
What's not so great: Sometimes painfully long waits in matchmaking.
"What a game... I'm still playing it pretty "hard-core" and am still loving it. Overall I found it to be an epic game that I am still and going to be (for a while) addicted to.
The gameplay is quit impressive and adds a solid number of weapons to the collection as well as a few extra cool grenade-like weapons that allow provide an extra shield, a shield regenerator and air lifting. Those are very helpful, though a little tough to get used to. 'Not to mention the extra vehicles... There is now a little 4-wheeler which is a TON of fun. They could easily make a racing game type in Halo 3 which I would personally LOVE playing. I don't think it goes any faster than any other vehicle in the game, but it's (small) size makes it look like your goin a hundred miles an hour around the maps.
I thought the campaign was good. It had a great amount of detail and was a fair deal of fun. HOWEVER, it was WAY too short. I think I only got a good 5 hours of solid game-play out of the campaign... Though I have to admit, you could probably compound that a few times if you are intent on finding all of the hidden skulls and achievements without any help.
The multiplayer aspect is much more fun, but can be much more frustrating. I have an excellent internet connection (topples most of the "average" internet connections - according to bandwidth tests) and still have some troubles with lag. I have spent a great deal of my life playing games and can confidently say I know the difference between lag problems and being a newb... And in Halo 3, even with a GREAT internet connection, I constantly find that I am (one) not getting assigned the game host and (two) getting fouled on some kills that I should have gotten due to lag issuess.
There are a few OTHER things I would like to note about the game which I think help it make the best of the year... (one) The Forge - This is a part of the game that allows you to modify the maps that are played by being able to place weapons, equipment and vehicles anywhere you want in the map. I have not had a great deal of experience with this yet, but find it as a neat add-on that I might get into when I get a little more bored with the game (a couple years from now). (two) The Theatre - This allows you to go and watch previous games that have been played and take recordings and screenshots. This is really fun and allows you to share your moments of excellence with the rest of the world. If you catch a glitch, you can rewind in the theatre and see how it happened and show everyone else, too! (three) The ranking has changed a bit for online play. Now, you have badges on top of your actual ranked match ranking that are associated with you based on your experience (the number of games you win). This "ranking" exists whether or not you play in ranked matches or not. It's kind of a way to tell how experienced of players your up against. I have seen a few people lately with the "Major" ranking hitting something like 300+ games won. It definately helps keep you in the game shooting to get the next badge.
Despite the few problems I have with the game (which will hopefully get resolved one day by Bungie), I love the game and can't stop playing it. It is challenging & intriguing and marvles other games in its genre. Recommended HANDS DOWN."
